Gensou scanned his surroundings, unsurprised to find no trace of Black Zetsu, the ever-crafty survivor.
Since returning from the Infinite Tsukuyomi world, Black Zetsu had been absent from Obito's side, clearly abandoning his once-reliable pawn.
The question remained whether Zetsu planned to throw all his chips behind Gensou or revive another executor—Madara.
Pondering this briefly, Gensou chuckled softly and shook his head.

Though fleeting, Zetsu's "grief" over Obito ended with those words. Taking up the fallen warrior's resolve, Zetsu turned toward Konoha, preparing for his next move.
Based on the intelligence he had gathered, the Five Great Nations were now fully supporting Orochimaru. One after another, samples of historical ninja DNA from various villages were being delivered to Orochimaru, leading to the creation of an unprecedented Edo Tensei army.
This presented Zetsu with an opportunity.

"Madara-sama, when you return to this world, I hope you won't be too shocked," Zetsu murmured with a shrug, heading swiftly toward Konoha.
Meanwhile, Gensou's capture of the Two-Tails' Jinchūriki went off without a hitch.
Obito had confined her in a secret base left behind by Madara on the borders of the Land of Fire. By the time Gensou arrived, the Jinchūriki remained unconscious.
Grabbing her effortlessly, Gensou was about to leave when a message came through his Zero Ring.
"Edo Tensei?"
Gensou's face showed surprise.
As mentioned before, Konoha had planted informants in Lock Village. With the rapid rise in Edo Tensei summons, the intel eventually reached Gensou after passing through the chain of communication.
"Konoha is building an Edo Tensei army, led by Orochimaru?"
Seeing the name, Gensou's expression reflected a mix of surprise and inevitability.
He sighed softly.
"So even after all that, he still won't stay dead?"
To be thorough, Gensou had not only killed Orochimaru's main body but also eliminated Kabuto, who had inherited all of Orochimaru's knowledge. While in Konoha, he even destroyed the fragment of Orochimaru's soul lingering within Anko.
Despite these measures, Orochimaru had managed to resurface.
"Impressive. Truly a cockroach-level existence," Gensou muttered, both annoyed and impressed.
At the same time, a rare trace of caution crossed his face.
