chapter 13
13 – Audacity (2)
Karl’s words were obviously arrogant, and if the princess tripped over them, they could be taken as an insult to the imperial family.
Of course, I didn’t think that much of a knife, and the princess also didn’t take it as an issue because she was more curious than thinking it was an insult.
Princess Akah Trisha listened to Carl’s words and looked at the watch on her wrist.
Originally, it was a magic tool brought for confession when the sword was interrogated in case the evidence was destroyed.
The color of the light that the magic tool emits is blue.
That means the truth.
Akatricia thought.
I wondered if this tool I borrowed from Eina was broken somewhere.
Akah Trisha pondered for a moment before she asked Carl.
“How are you feeling right now?”
Carl answered her question without knowing why she was asking such a question.
“Yes, I consider it an honor to have the opportunity to have such a conversation with Your Highness.”
Red.
Lies.
This time she asked with one finger extended in front of the knife.
“How much is this?”
“…? It is one.”
Blue.
Obviously the clock was working properly.
In that case.
‘Is everything this person said true?’
Is that possible?
Akah Tricia couldn’t contain her curiosity any longer.
“If you can’t even see the future, how did you predict the number I would have?”
Karl thought of an answer to the question.
I thought about it, but I couldn’t come up with a way anyway.
“I just thought about it and it worked.”
Akatricia checked her watch again.
It was blue.
She couldn’t believe it.
If Aka Tricia hadn’t had her watch, she would have thought they were making fun of her.
“You really didn’t use any abilities?”
“Yes.”
It was still blue.
“Ha.”
I just laughed out loud.
Everything was unexpected for Akatricia.
“I just thought about it and it worked…. In a sense, you are a wizard.”
“If you have to ask me where I came from, I’m a technician, right?”
“I never thought it would be natural to be evasive like this.”
Akarsinha walked around her room lost in her thoughts.
Then she stopped.
“Do you think I will become emperor?”
Knives are natural.
“I don’t know. Majesty.”
I denied it.
Red.
Akatricia was surprised.
I don’t know if Carl agrees or denies it, but he sure does.
“Then do you intend to serve me as your master?”
“Because I am incompetent, I will be a nuisance to Your Highness.”
‘No, so if you were like me, would you work for the guy you tried to kill?’
Of course, not knowing what Carl was thinking, Akatricia looked at the red light and made a different guess.
‘Are you saying that your talent isn’t enough to serve me? It’s rude, but understandable. But it’s strange that someone with this level of insight couldn’t figure out Katrina’s ulterior motive….’
Akah Trisha opened her mouth to ask Carl about it, but she immediately closed it again.
‘No, to ask this directly is to spread rumors with my mouth that I am incompetent.’
Akatricia started thinking to find the answer herself.
However, the process was more like writing a novel than speculation.
That’s how Akatricia drew the conclusion she thought was possible.
“That’s how it happened. You had more affection than I thought. But not bad Those who have a lot of affection are also deeply loyal.”
“Yes?”
“Hmm, are you embarrassed to say you are a man too? Then I understand that.”
Karl didn’t understand what he said out of the blue.
Akah Trisha rose from her seat.
“You think you are not qualified to follow me. Come back when you deserve it. I’ll leave the seat next to you empty. Come if you have an idea. However, if it is too late, no matter how talented you are, you may not have a seat.”
She left her room with those words.
Karl thought.
“What are you really saying until the end? I have no idea.”
* * *
Katrina was lying on the bed in her room, organizing her thoughts.
A conversation between Cassius and Carl overheard while passing by.
And the word “Younger brother” Mixed in the conversation.
It was something I had never heard from them.
He was looking out for Cassius and her.
However, the appearance shown in the conversation between Cassius and Carl that I heard today was very confident.
Is what he said true?
Did he ignore me like someone I don’t know so much to keep an eye on Cassius?
Come to think of it, even though Carl looked out for himself or treated her as someone who didn’t exist, he didn’t despise her like Cassius seemed to have.
While she was contemplating, she then heard a knock on her door.
Smart smart.
“I told you it was fine as long as it was a meal.”
Katrina reacted nervously.
“Hmm…. She has something she wants to say. She stopped by, but she doesn’t seem to be in a good mood. I will go back.”
Katrina noticed that the owner of her horse was the princess.
She opened the door hastily.
“Me, Your Highness. No.”
The princess turned to Katrina who opened her door and asked.
“Are you okay?”
“Yes, it is possible.”
The princess followed Katrina into her room.
Katrina asked her princess.
“By the way, what are you doing here? Majesty.”
“Brother and sister are the same when it comes to getting straight to the point.”
Katrina missed the timing for her reply, not knowing how to react to her words.
“To dare to ignore the words of the original woman, she is just like her arrogance.”
“I’m sorry. Majesty.”
“You don’t seem to resemble even being clever.”
The princess must have thought that she had been teased enough. She finally got to the point.
“You have benefited from your brother.”
“Yes? What is that?”
“Did you think it was a coincidence that you discovered Carl’s lab?.”
Katrina pondered the princess’ words.
“What are you talking about?”
“That means it was a trap prepared by Cassius to kill you. In fact, didn’t Carl and Cassius know we were coming? Cassius must have been prepared to open the game and choke you.”
Of course not.
It was the princess’ misunderstanding.
“And Carl, who noticed that, called a man named Baren and made a rampage, and then everything went back to square one. Thanks to you, all of your sins are gone.”
“It can’t be. Carl’s older brother did it to save me? It can’t be. I am not that kind of person.”
“Didn’t you also listen to the conversation between Carl and Cassius?”
“I don’t think so. My older brother Karl saved me because he thought he couldn’t stop Cassius without me.”
Katrina actually gave her correct answer, but the princess didn’t think it was worth even repeating Katrina’s words.
That’s why the princess looked directly at Katrina and said.
“Katrina, not only denying her words, but also trying to teach her. Truly, you are arrogant.”
“My, how dare I?”
“Do you think you are worth that much? Then I’ll ask. If Cassius chokes you right now without the intervention of that sword, can you escape?”
Katrina could not be denied.
Currently Katrina’s position was obviously precarious.
“That is your value. I was confident in the battle against Carl. The path this man walks will remain as the footsteps of giants. In other words, he hid even while taking the insult of being incompetent. Do you think that a person with that level of ability and perseverance was spared because he needed someone like you? You survived because of his affection.”
Katrina was ashamed of her princess’ words, but she couldn’t vomit.
I just asked the princess.
“Why is Your Highness telling me that?”
It was Katrina’s greatest defiance to her princess.
Of course, the princess also knew the meaning of her Katrina’s words.
“In case you want to earn points from your brother.”
The princess continued as she grabbed Katrina’s doorknob.
“If Carl asks who said it, make sure she says the original woman said it.”
The princess finally left her room.
* * *
The saint, the princess, and even Eina, the master’s disciple of the mage tower, gathered at the checkpoint to leave.
“Is the saintess leaving too?”
The saintess rolled her eyes at her princess’s words and said.
“What should I do if I stay here any longer? The church must have a lot of work to do.”
“Isn’t he afraid of Varen and running away with his tail?”
The saintess answered while gritting her teeth.
“It’s been a while since I’ve had a lot of work.”
“Ah, is that so?”
The princess just laughed.
Like a flower.
Brilliantly.
As for the saintess, she had the same temperament as the princess and wanted to turn everything upside down.
“Isn’t it the same for the princess to lose to a sword and run away?”
The princess replied as if nothing was wrong.
“That’s right. I was interested because I didn’t expect it. So, she urgently plans to return to the imperial palace to come up with a countermeasure.”
The saintess kicked her mouth at the princess’ attitude, as if she had no blows at all.
“When we came, we came in the same carriage, but when we go, we go our separate ways.”
“That was the same goal when we came, and now we each have to go our own way.”
“I see.”
The princess looks at the artist’s manor after her.
She got into the carriage.
And before closing the carriage door.
“May the saintess rest in peace on her way to death. This is my sincerity.”
“Yes, Your Highness too.”
The saintess received her princess’ words dryly.
“Eina, I hope you return to the Mage Tower carefully.”
“Yes, yes. Both Her Highness and the saintess, go home carefully.”
As expected, Eina returned without a presence, stuttering her words until the end.
The saintess also got on the carriage to the church and left.
The princess also set off in her carriage to return to the imperial palace.
A long time after the wagon started moving.
“Ahahahaha!”
The princess suddenly laughed while looking outside from inside her carriage.
Crusch looked at that figure suspiciously.
“Crush. I asked him how he was able to do that. But does he know what he said? He just thought about it and said it was expected. I guess I understand now. It is complaining that it is impossible to understand the genius because the criminal is struggling to understand it. It’s just a matter of course for a genius.”
“You look happy.”
“More than ever.”
The interlocking cogs have been disassembled, but they still roll.
As long as each person has their own power, it’s enough.
