Right now, we were hiding some distance away in the thick blanket of leaves up into the trees.

There, before us, was a (Blue) ranked creature almost as strong as the one that we saw earlier this morning, the one that had hunted down the turtle.

However, different from that beast, this was quite unique.

[{ "It seems like a magic-skill user. I guess it has more magic-related skills than fighting skills. Its feathers don't seem like they will detach, and I don't think it's a flying creature even with those features.

The green leaf-like feathers are more suited for mixing into the surroundings. They are sharp so I guess it also uses it as a weapon not to directly attack, but to process the hunts.

From the looks of how it's waiting in an ambush, I guess it's waiting for prey to enter its area of detection. We might just become that prey if we make a wrong move." }]

Chry was pretty good at observing the creature's physical characteristics while on the other hand, Quin was observing the Mana signatures that were faintly coming from the creature.

[{ "While the creature has a Mana only slightly higher than that of the borderline (Blue) rank creatures, the purity of Mana that it has, just like all the creatures of this forest, is much greater.

It's not the same (Blue) rank creature that we may find outside so calling it a purple rank doesn't seem wrong either. You already have the status window for the creature, right, Lucifer? Show it to us… I think we might just beat this one." }]

She had already analyzed the creature's Mana as well as its energy characteristics.

I knew she could already tell what the creature could do with its physical characteristics and Mana and if she just got an idea about the kind of skills that the creature had, she would be able to beat it with Chry's help.

[{ "Sure. Here's the status that we extracted." }]

This was the first creature that Grandpa wasn't defeating outright. It was also the first one that wasn't done hunting but was in the process of it.

It was locked in an ambush, waiting for its prey as it kept its eyes on a certain bush with golden barriers attached to it.

These berries, as I knew, were pretty good and were liked by various smaller creatures. Anywhere in the forest they were, it was obvious that some kind of creature possessing a high purity of Mana would find them and try to get them.

Creatures like the one we were looking at stayed in hiding for these specific creatures of high purity. They were rare even in this forest, so common tactics like these were a pretty common sight.

However, this one was a special creature.

I showed them the things that they needed and not all the details that we usually get. This species of creature could be found in some parts of the eastern continent as well, but over there, they are nicknamed (Ninja Shuri).

And why does it have Mana control when it doesn't seem like it could use the environmental Mana…" }]

Quin was thinking right now, and since this channel was common for everyone, all of us were hearing her thoughts right now.

Rein was having fun looking at her friend here. Chry, similarly, was looking at her with a look that, well, was a little too obvious.

[{ "The two of them should just date already." }]

[{ "Hey, Sister Zoe! Don't eavesdrop on others like this." }]

[{ "Celes? You included Zoe and Anna? Do you want another lecture…?" }]

I know she's just playing and Anna is feeling much better now that she has seen the same thing happening many times.

In the forest, it was the law that the strong would take down the weak.

She initially did not understand why we were only fighting a few of the creatures instead of going against them all and saving some of the other creatures from them.

Many things were pretty difficult for her to understand at first, but then she observed what we were doing, how we were leaving only those creatures that we were necessary for the environmental balance and taking down those who would either get in our way or ones that would bring great experience for the party.

I didn't expect it, but she was learning pretty quickly. Her ability to understand things might be helping her, but she could still not accept anything that was happening here. She just could not, and I know her nature will not allow her to do so anytime soon either.

'But then again, it's just who she is.'

She may be a young girl right now, but by the time we get back home and by the time she gets into the academy, she will be a bigger topic of discussion among all societies and organizations around the world.

[{ "Hmm. I think I've figured it out." }]

Quin looked at me first and nodded. It was the single that she was ready for the battle and there was no need to delay anything.

[{ "Follow me, Chry." }]

[{ "Yes, Miss Quin." }]

The two of them were getting pretty close as time passed.

They were having fun when we were at the Heliox estate and they were having fun when we moved here. While they might have focused on their training this whole time, they were spending more and more time together even with the boundaries that they had created.

They talked, they were hanging around the various places in the tower as we did, and they were the most obvious couple around us.

'Even the complicated situation that Del and the president could not be compared to theirs.'

They did not want to get too close to one another as they had their own goals. Being close enough that they couldn't be called just friends but not crossing the boundaries made their relationship a not-so-fun one to watch.

'But then came their chemistry.'

-Oooooooooong!

The creature that we were after had a humanoid form with two hands with a layer of feathers covering it which went all across his body and was wrapped around it like a cape.

There was a hood as well so its entire body was pretty much covered in feathers.

It had strong and sharp claws, it was a strong creature, and there was a strong Mana in its body, but something more interesting was the faint Mana that was present in each one of its feathers.

"...!"

It also had sharp senses so the moment it detected a shift in Mana around it, it figured out there was something wrong and instantaneously changed its position by controlling the Mana inside of it.

'It actually blasted his innate Mana through his feathers to shift his position in a split second.'

[{ "Chry." }]

It saved the creature from the water spears that sprung out of the ground right under it, but sadly, that was just the start.

-Swish!

-ZAP!

The moment the creature avoided Quin's initial attack shifted his position and showed the gap in its defenses, Chry moved like a flash of light and closed the distance between them in a blink of an eye.

"!!!"

-Clank!

-Boooooooooom!

He was like a lightning strike, quick, and powerful, and the moment his sword made an impact on the green, metallic feathers of the creature, a thunderous blast occurred, shaking the entire area around us.

[{ "Move." }]

The impact wasn't strong enough to pierce through the fortified feathers of the creature though, so the moment Chry's attack landed, he moved to a side and, at the same time, a sharp slash of water flew from behind him.

"..."

The creature knew even if it blocked the impact from the swordsman, it was not going to be as easy to defend against an attack that was made with Mana as pure as his own.

-OOOOOOONG!

The only thing that the creature could do was to use the best skill that it possessed.

-Frrrrrr…!

The feathers all around its body exploded and scattered around them, destroying everything that fell into their path.

-Boooooooom!

If the impact from Chry had only caused a crater to form, this attack from the creature pierced through everything including the thick trees around it.

They also pierced through the crescent slash of water that was coming at it, scattering the water all around them.

[{ "It's going to be dangerous now." }]

Chry had already moved back by the time she said it.

Without looking back at her, he knew this battle was not going to be as simple as he had initially thought.

[{ "Do as I say." }]

[{ "Yes." }]

The feathers that had blasted out from the creature were first suspended in the air around them.

But then they started moving and a layer of Mana was covered around them which made them sharper and stronger.

'There were hundreds of feathers all under the control of that one creature.'

Without the feathers, its entire body was left vulnerable. But, there were three rings of feathers circling around him aside from the hundreds that were present around them.

They seemed like small daggers to Quin, and seeing this made her realize why I had left this creature to them instead of Carla and Alf.

'They were better suited for this kind of combat.'

They will soon realize how dangerous the creatures of this forest can be.

'This was also an example to the rest of them.'

I wanted Anna to watch this battle closely.

She would learn not only from the creature but also from Quin and Chry, a mage and a knight that had an unreal synergy together.

'Plus, she's gonna find this fun.'

So, it's best to not say much and let her enjoy this battle…
