Is It Wrong to Abusing Cartoon Tropes in Dungeon?

Chapter 18: 18 World Upgrade!

Since they had agreed to go out and celebrate, it was important not to disappoint. Hestia was extremely worried after Hephaestus talked to her, but Altair reassured her by explaining that no one else knew about his level-up to Level 2 yet, so there was nothing to worry about.

With Hephaestus not saying anything further, Altair successfully calmed Hestia down, putting her completely at ease. Then, they moved on to another round of feasting.

After all, Hestia had brought Altair to find Hephaestus to celebrate. Despite a few minor incidents along the way, they didn't affect the final goal, which was to invite Hephaestus out for a celebration.

So, just like last time, the three of them returned to the Hostess of Fertility for another pleasant dining experience. During the meal, Hestia seemed to have completely forgotten Hephaestus' earlier admonishments and began boasting again. However, she didn't mention Altair's level-up or the fight with Goliath. She merely talked about how amazing Altair was, such as his ability to make money.

This kind of thing wasn't a problem to talk about. After all, when Altair left the Guild, he was carrying such a large money bag that it would be difficult not to notice.

The good thing was that when Altair exchanged Goliath's magic stone for money, he did it in the conference room and had informed Eina not to spread the news. Therefore, for the time being, outsiders wouldn't know that Altair had killed Goliath and become Level 2.

After another joyful celebration, Altair took Hestia back to the church to rest.

After a night of rest, the next day Altair, as usual, entered his research room.

This time, he wanted to study how the system's world level upgrade worked.

[Level up detected. Would you like to upgrade the world level?]

The same window that appeared during his level-up yesterday popped up again. Below it were two options, one was [Yes] and the other was [Ignore]. Last night, Altair chose to ignore it, but now he brought the window back up.

"Do I need to fight to upgrade the world level?"

[You need to enter the world upgrade event to complete the mission.]

Altair was pleasantly surprised by this response. Previously, with his achievements, he could only passively accept without any feedback, but this time there was something different... something more interesting.

"Is it related to this world upgrade?"

[Level up detected. Would you like to upgrade the world level?]

Hmm, now there was no further feedback; the window had returned to the original prompt.

"How long will the event take? Will it affect time in this world?"

[It will not affect this world's time. The moment you enter the event, time will be frozen until you return.]

Ah, now this was familiar! Just like in a game where one world serves as the main world, and you travel to other worlds to level up, only to return and show off!

"Well, since I have to enter an event, there will likely be battles. Hold on a second; let me prepare."

Altair clicked [Ignore] again and began preparing his weapons.

He already had two AK-47s, so weapons were not an issue. However, he needed to prepare more magic stone bullets. Previously, without a 4D Pocket, he could only prepare a limited amount of bullets, as leaving more at home risked them being stolen. But now that he had a 4D Pocket, he could produce as much as he wanted!

Fear of insufficient firepower drove Altair to madly manufacture ammunition... two crates of magic bullets for the AK-47, one crate of high-explosive grenades, and a few magic C4 explosives. He didn't make too many of those since he had modified his rocket launcher using Goliath's magic stone to convert it into a magic-powered version. Now, instead of just rockets, it could fire magic cannons!

According to Altair's calculations, each magic shell could fire up to 10 shots, with each magic cannon blast having a beam width of one meter. Alternatively, he could concentrate all the magic power into a single shot to unleash a true magic cannon... a massive blast with a width of three meters!

Altair could only make ten of those shells since Goliath's magic stone was limited.

After loading all the prepared weapons and ammo into his spatial pouch, Altair finally felt ready. Naturally, he also carried his high-frequency vibrating knife and lightsaber.

From the outside, however, Altair appeared unarmed, with just a knife at his waist and a lightsaber hilt. This made him look much lighter and more in line with his light armor.

Originally, his appearance was that of Saber, with a matching light armor set. But having been armed with guns and cannons before, switching to knives now, while a bit odd, made him look more appropriate.

Additionally, Altair prepared some gold coins... after all, going to another world meant he needed hard currency.

With everything ready, and no need to worry about time.

"Alright, let's begin."

He pulled up the window again and pressed the [Yes] button.

[Confirm entry to the world level upgrade event?]

[Confirm] [Deny]

Confirm!

After Altair pressed [Confirm], a clock appeared before his eyes. The clock was spinning, but after a few seconds, the second hand stopped, and his surroundings turned black and white as time froze.

Za Warudo!

Time had stopped, but Altair could still move. In front of him, a blue vortex appeared.

Taking a deep breath, Altair stepped into the vortex. His vision immediately went black, and he lost consciousness.

It was unclear how much time had passed, but Altair's consciousness eventually returned. Slowly opening his eyes, he found himself lying on the ground. The bright sunlight forced him to raise a hand to shield his eyes, while he used the other hand to prop himself up and sit.

As Altair's eyes gradually adjusted to the brightness, he looked around.

What he saw was a modern building... not a particularly advanced skyscraper, but it was clearly a modern city.

He could hear voices nearby. Looking in the direction of the sound, he saw a group of young people in the same uniforms... no, they were students. From their language, Altair could tell that he was in a school, on the roof of one of its buildings. From their speech, it was clear... they were speaking Japanese.

So, had he arrived in another world from a Japanese anime?
