Is It Wrong to Abusing Cartoon Tropes in Dungeon?

Chapter 16: 16 World Level

[Achievement: Leveled Up!]

[Congratulations, you leveled up for the first time!]

In front of Altair, a window popped up. Just like before, whenever his status changed, an achievement notification appeared.

The last few times his circumstances shifted, Altair had received three new skills. He had already suspected that leveling up might grant him a new skill, and it seemed he was right.

Each time, the skill he received was completely random, depending on what the system wanted to give. There was no choice involved, so what he got was entirely based on the system's whims.

The first time he came to this world, the skill he received gave him a foundation to survive. The second skill laid the groundwork for his rise in this world. The third skill, however, was a bit strange.

After joining the Hestia Familia, he was given the ability to breathe fire. How should he put it? Compared to the first and second skills, this one was totally different.

In a world full of magic, the ability to breathe fire didn't seem all that useful. Altair had already tested it. It didn't require any mana; it just consumed stamina. It wasn't even scientific. All he had to do was think about it, and flames would burst from his mouth.

The fire had a decent range, about five meters, and spread in a three-meter-wide cone.

But with the Wolf Wisdom and modern weapons at his disposal, this fire-breathing ability felt utterly redundant. Altair found it somewhat useless.

Now, he hoped the fourth skill would be a bit more practical.

Let's see what new skill I've acquired this time.

Altair clicked the [Claim] button at the bottom of the window, and a new skill appeared in his hand.

[4D Pocket

Heard you're bothered by carrying too much stuff? Here, have a pocket! This will make life much easier!]

Wow, this thing's amazing! A pocket like this... it's basically Doraemon's four-dimensional pocket.

Altair was sure the pocket was empty, there wouldn't be any of the items seen in the cartoon, but that didn't matter. A space pocket was more than enough; it was essentially a piece of storage space.

Gamers would understand how useful storage space is. In games, characters often have endless inventories. In Orario, while adventurers could level up and fight like players, none of them had access to storage space.

Even supporters had to rely on their skills and strength to carry packs, not storage space.

Altair felt at ease now. He had been worried that if Lili kept targeting him, it could cause trouble. After all, it's not the thief you catch that you worry about; it's the one who's constantly watching you. If Lili hadn't caused him problems, he wouldn't go looking for trouble either.

But what if she set a trap for him without him knowing? That could be a headache. Although Altair had the resilience of Tom, you never knew what weird skills other adventurers had up their sleeves. Especially when he had to carry a ton of stuff on every trip.

Now, with this pocket, he could store anything and travel light.

After claiming the skill, Altair looked down at his abdomen. There was no physical pocket, nor anything in his hand. So where was this pocket?

Altair thought for a moment, stretched out his right hand in front of him, and concentrated on the idea of the space pocket. Sure enough, his right hand disappeared, entering a strange void.

Just like the fire-breathing skill, as long as he thought about it, he could use it.

The pocket wasn't physically on him; it had become a portable space. The entrance could be accessed at will, just by thinking about it.

This is incredible!

"Altair-kun, your new skill appeared!" Hestia exclaimed in delight after seeing the new skill manifest on his back after he claimed it.

Have you ever heard of Tom? That's right, the blue cat. With this skill, you'll have the same body as him. But remember, inheriting his nature also means you'll never be able to defeat an enemy named Jerry.

Wolf Wisdom:

You will have the intelligent wolf intelligence of Grey Wolf. But remember, you can never defeat a sheep.

Bear Power:

You have attracted the attention of the God of the Stove, thus being granted his power. From now on, you can spit fire from your mouth!

"Altair-kun, you've also unlocked a development ability upon leveling up. Which one would you like to choose?"

"Do you have Abnormal Resistance?"

"Hm? Abnormal Resistance? Yes, we do."

"Then I'll choose that one."

"Got it!"

There were many development abilities to choose from, and Altair had looked into them. Some were quite unique, like Mystery, which was used by mages for casting magic. But Altair didn't care about that. He preferred resistance to crowd control. Joking aside, no matter how strong you were in close or ranged combat, getting controlled by an enemy meant you were a sitting duck for every skill thrown at you.

Altair was confident in his agility, thanks to Tom's Body reflexes, but if he ever got controlled, not even Tom could dodge it. He wouldn't die, though... his body's flexibility made sure of that. He had tested it and found that he could stretch like rubber if needed. It just didn't come up often, so he hadn't showcased it yet.

Following Altair's decision, Hestia granted him the Abnormal Resistance buff. Now Altair was officially Level 2, with a passive ability to resist status effects.

A space pocket and abnormal resistance? This level-up was a total win!

After fully leveling up to Level 2, another window popped up in front of Altair.

[Level up detected. Would you like to upgrade the world level?]

What? Upgrade world level?
