Blue Wind Tournament
Xiao Lingxi tenderly opened her bright eyes glancing sidewards checking for any traces of Yun Che in her room.
"Little Che.." she muttered.
She was attracted to Xiao Che from her childhood. Her lasting impression of her Little Che was built up when he stood up for her even when others put her at arm's length calling her ugly duckling. He used to teach them a lesson and promised to always stay by her side.
Her eyes turned moist recalling all the time she spent with her Little Che. And the pain in her heart grew up when she recalled her Little Che won't be staying with her any longer. He himself got a wife now, she started to convince herself. And the promise they did in their childhood is something that can't be realized.
Suddenly, a man appeared in her vision. She was too engrossed in her thoughts that she didn't even hear the sound of the door opening thereby his swift arrival.
She continued to blink at the stranger in confusion.
'Who might it be to enter my courtyard at this time?' she thought. But something in her told her that the man is the closest person to her. And this person is certainly 'her' Little Che.
"Little Che, is it you?" she asked uncertainly, clearing her eyes and her vision was clearer by second.
"Little Aunt, you're already up, I see," came the reply from Yun Che.
Hearing the familiar voice of Yun Che she grew up with, her mouth formed into an 'O' shape with her eyes wide to the fullest extent. But soon a sign of relief along with fatigue washed over her body helping her reverting back to her usual self.
It took a while for her to settle down. She then tried to sit up from the bed as Little Che himself came by. Her body was lean and frail, but she put an effort to quickly adjust her posture not to appear clumsy.
Yun Che placed the dishes he brought with him beside the bed and started to check up on her to which Lingxi complied.
"Little Aunt, are you fine?" asked Yun Che with concern even after checking up on her and finding nothing wrong with her body condition.
Lingxi gave a brief nod in response.
"You know, you really gave a hard time for Grandpa, all the while," he said glaring at Lingxi.
Lingxi turned her head low reflecting on her past actions. She felt bitter thinking about how her Grandpa was worried about her.
"But, it's fine as long as you don't repeat it again..." Yun Che comforted. "Now, come on, little aunt, eat it..." he said bringing the spoon next to Lingxi trying to nurse her.
"Little Che, I can do it on my own.." Lingxi was flustered and wanted to turn down the offer but just as she opened her mouth to refuse, a spoon without delay got inserted which she can't help but gulp down her throat.
"Aaah!.. Little Che, it's warm.." she said with her hands over her throat trying to lessen the burning sensation.
"huh?" Yun Che blew out air to tone the temperature down and once again fed her. This time, she didn't hesitate and gulped the food relatively with ease.
"How is it?" he asked.
"It's great," she said. "But I want more.."
Yun Che started feeding her with the bowl getting emptied soon. Lingxi laid in the bed soon after trying to rest for a bit, her complexion started to turn healthy.
"Little Aunt, I have someone for you to meet." Yun Che said with a smile. "It's er.. someone close to me."
"Little Che, it's been only 2 months since we're far apart, who might it be for you to get so close to other than me?" she asked chuckling but was also a little puzzled.
"Do you still remember the promise we made in our childhood, Little Che?" she suddenly asked out of nowhere.
"If it's about us staying together till the end, then I do," said Yun Che trying to make it seem as if it was his own set of memories. He knew these memories were his predecessors. But he didn't want her to find out about it.
"Mm... " She nodded.
"Did you miss me the time you're away from me?" she asked biting her lip.
"I.." Honestly, the answer was a flat no. But, he didn't want to disappoint Lingxi either. Just as he was hesitating about what to answer, someone came to his rescue.
"Che'er, how is Ling'er doing?" Xiao Lei entered the room.
"Grandpa, she is way better than before. It might not take her long to recover," he said feeling grateful for Xiao Lei's timely appearance.
"ooh.."
"Brother Che, are you there?" a feminine voice sounded back of Xiao Lei and soon her appearance was visible by everyone.
Cang Yue wore a fitting conservative attire not revealing much of her assets. But it fit her perfectly and her each movement exuding a noble aura around her making others unable to resist her charm.
With a bright smile, she walked to Yun Che.
"You've come at the right time, Yue'er, this is my little aunt, Lingxi," Yun Che introduced.
Cang Yue looked at Lingxi lying on the bed and started examining her closely while the same was being done by Lingxi.
'She's too young,' Cang Yue thought and bowed herself a little to greet Lingxi who laid there silently and gave a nod.
"Ling'er, this is Cang Yue, Che'er's wife," said Xiao Lei trying to surprise Ling'er.
"...!"
"G-Grandpa, what about Qingyue?" asked Lingxi stuttering. It was kind of hard for her to dismiss everything as a dream and inquired.
"It's a long story," he said.
He then briefly explained to her what happened the day before. Lingxi was taken aback to know that all have taken place in such a short period.
"Che'er and you aren't related by blood," he revealed.
Lingxi felt her hidden deep desires which she has been trying to conceal, begin to resurface and soon a tear streamed down her cheeks along with a subtle smile.
"Sister Lingxi, are you feeling unwell?" asked Cang Yue thinking that she was in some kind of pain.
"No, I'm good..." she said closing her eyes, taking a nap for now telling herself she now had a chance of her own.
Cang Yue took out the Sound Transmission Jade from her Storage Ring which was blinking continuously for a while and tapped on it.
"Royal Daughter, The time for the Blue Wind Tournament is nearing closer. We've received an invitation from Heavenly Sword Villa to participate in the Tournament. We are already on our way to the Tournament. We expect you to join us soon..." a recorded message from the Blue Wind Emperor, Cang Wanhe himself was clearly heard from it.
"Brother Che..." Cang Yue turned her gaze to Yun Che seeking his permission to tag along and what he'd decide to do now.
"Grandpa, will you join us to the Tournament," he asked turning to Xiao Lei.
Xiao Lei was interested to see how his grandson would do in the prestigious tournament and accepted.
