Inuyasha:The third sword

Chapter : Chapter 78.5: Assault of tails.

It all started with a naive, simple question that everyone in the group seems to want to know....

"Will Asahiko's tails be real?"

"Obviously they are real Shippo. Stare at them for a few moments..."

Talking to Shippo resting in her arms, Kagome points her finger towards Asahiko, more exactly towards the tail she uses as a pillow. The tail was a beautiful shade of gold, while her soft hair swayed like a wheatfield in the spring winds.

"Certainly Miss Kagome is right, they look too real to be fake."

"But Miroku... Not that Asahiko is a pure demon, then why does he have ears and tails?"

"Don't be fooled because those things are totally fake."

Walking towards the group of Kagome, Miroku, Shippo and even Sango who have gathered to talk about whether they are real or not, Inuyasha keeps Steel Fang in its sheath and angrily replies to Shippo.

"You've finally stopped swinging that sword, Inuyasha. So how do you know they're not real?"

"Miroku, I was the one who cut off the tail of Asahiko, he then gave it to Totosai to create his sword and I can confirm to you that they are fake."

"Are you sure Inuyasha, look, even his ears move as if they were alive."

With a completely doubtful voice, Kagome points again towards the sleeping Asahiko and lays out her counter-arguments to Inuyasha. Widening his eyes, Inuyasha looks ready to launch into another reason why they are false, though he quickly falls silent as he feels Shippo over his head.

"There's only one way to find out, you have to go and touch them!"

"Idiot raccoon, you may find yourself sleeping, but Asahiko is still a pure demon."

"Unbelievably, Inuyasha said something logical. We don't know how Asahiko will react if he wakes up and sees us playing with his tails."

Everyone gathered nodded their heads in affirmation, it was obvious they were beginning to doubt and Shippo's plan seemed destined to fail.

"Inuyasha, you're going to forget all those pranks, beatings and things Asahiko has done to you the last few days. Miroku, how could a monk of your level leave a demon of that power unsupervised?"

"Well said tanuki, it's time for revenge."

"A good samaritan like me could never let a demon like that loose, better check what he is capable of and his dangerous tails with him."

Inuyasha has completely fallen for Shippo's deception, while Miroku's experienced old man quickly noticed that there was something strange, though he doesn't mind at all.

"Wait, I'm coming too!"

"Kagome stay with Sango, we don't know how Asahiko is going to react."

"React? You can hear her snoring from here!"

"Miss Kagome is right Inuyasha, this doesn't seem to be that dangerous."

Nodding to each other, both Kagome and Miroku begin to move forward in the direction of Asahiko and knowing there is no other option, Inuyasha follows behind them with a dejected face.

At first their steps were slow and calculated, though noticing that there is no change in Asahiko, they begin to advance with more confidence making them find themselves at her side in a few seconds.

"Smooth..."

"Very gentle indeed."

The wariness that once guided her every action is nowhere to be found now, leaving Kagome and Miroku to sink into the sensation of stroking the golden hair of the tail. As the two of them lose themselves in enjoyment, Shippo the little fox slowly approaches Asahiko's face with a sinister smile.

"You thought I wasn't going to get revenge Asahiko, today you are going to suffer the wrath of Shippo, the mightiest fox of all! "

Laughing softly, Shippo reaches his hand down to his fox tail and withdraws a black cylindrical object from there... A black marker and it was permanent!

Pulling off the lid of the marker, Shippo tosses it towards his tail and it magically disappears. Finishing his preparations, he slowly brings the marker up to Asahiko's face and tries to draw it, if he tries, as a tail has appeared to block it.

"Get out of there!"

"What do you say Inuyasha, come here and try it."

"Miss Kagome has a point, come here Inuyasha... Miss Kagome, maybe we should move away."

"What do you say monk Miroku, I haven't touched her ears yet..."

A little late, but Kagome also senses the strangeness in the surroundings and with a mechanical movement she turns her neck back. Now there is not just one tail, but seven outside and they seem to have a common goal.

"Kagome... Help."

Tears were about to fall from Shippo's eyes, causing Kagome's heart to soften and she tries to go to his rescue, though Shippo is quickly surrounded by one of the tails and lifted into the air.

"Shippo, let him go now!"

"Miss Kagome, perhaps we should calm down a bit and wake Asahiko first."

Ignoring Miroku's logical proposition and with a confidence pulled from some mysterious place, Kagome pounces on the tail holding Shippo captive. Obviously the tails saw this as an act of aggression, so they also surrounded Kagome and two of them easily captured her.

"Miroku help!"

"Ha ha ha ha... It doesn't seem like a good idea to bother them anymore, besides they don't want to hurt you."

"Move Miroku, I got this!"

Being pushed aside by Inuyasha, Miroku trips over one of the tails and instantly it wraps itself around him, leaving him completely immobilized and with a dark face from his bad luck.

On the other hand Inuyasha quickly dodges the tail coming towards him and taking advantage of the fact that there are few left, as they are busy keeping the other three in place, he glides with ease towards Kagome.

"Kagome!"

"Inuyasha!"

Extending his arms towards the other, in an epic reunion that could be found in a fairy tale, Inuyasha is quickly caught by an unfamiliar tail. Yes, they had used Kagome as bait and in order to lure Inuyasha into a trap, the unknown tail was the one acting as a pillow for Asahiko.

"Inuyasha, you've been caught too, young Sango, could you help us?"

"This will help you to reflect, your excellency."

"Sango help us!"

¡Please Sango!"

Knowing that if they kept talking to Sango she was going to join the fray, Asahiko's tails quickly cover their mouths and every time they try to speak they are waved to the side.

"Better wait for Asahiko to wake up, right Kirara?"

"Mew."

Talking in a relaxed manner with Kirara, Sango puts down her boomerang on the ground and watches the spectacle that happens every time Inuyasha tries to scream.
