Into the healing farming game

CH 30 - Day 42 of Spring

42nd Day of Spring

“Did you even bring a change of clothes? That’s suspicious.”

“Don’t look at me strangely. I was just preparing for when my clothes get worn and ruined while working.”

“Hehe.”

After washing up, I came out and dried my hair with a towel.

My clothes were soaked from the rain so much that I had no choice but to wash up and come out,

because I couldn’t walk around the house in that wet condition.

Anne must have perked up in her own way, as there was some playfulness in her downcast voice.

When I looked at the gift box, I saw that only a couple of melons were missing.

After all, people needed to eat something to feel energized. It was nice to see her refreshed by eating something.

It was a house with good hot water.

Thanks to this, I sat down on the sofa.

Anne, wrapped in a blanket, slowly approached me.

“Isn’t it hot?”

“It’s scary…”

“I see…”

I was curious about her story, but when I faced those fearful eyes, I couldn’t bear to ask any questions.

There was no reason to bring up that trauma.

Anne was gradually calming down just by being like this.

There was no need to bother talking about something that had a high probability of being bad.

“How did you come to my house?”

“You said thunderstorms are scary.”

“Heh.”

Anne laughed bitterly.

“Did you remember it?”

“Well, I remembered because there was a lot of lightning falling, right?”

“You’re a pretty good person.”

Anne wriggled her body to get her hand out, but her firm blanket blocked the movement.

From my perspective, all I could see was a caterpillar wriggling hard.

The story continued intermittently.

After a short story, silence overtook.

Grunting sound.

Anne, terrified, snuggled into my arms, and I patted the blanket.

Short story once she was stable again.

A flash of light followed by the exciting sound of thunder.

Anne trembled, and I patted her without fail.

The sight of her blonde hair falling limply to the floor felt sad.

Maybe I was the one who needed to stay like this all night long.

I might be a little tired, but I wasn’t so heartless as to leave her in this condition.

Above all, Anne was the first to help me when I first arrived in this world.

“Ugh…”

“Should I cover your ears? How about that?”

“But it’s still useless.”

“You never know.”

“Huh.”

I put my hand to Anne’s ear. Her mouth was pouting, and her speech was muffled.

The heat in her freshly washed hands was quite hot.

Was it thanks to that?

Anne’s cheeks turned light pink, as if the heat transferred to my hand was also being transferred to Anne.

I was covering Anne’s ears.

“Should I close your eyes too?”

“I don’t like darkness either.”

“Yeah. That’s it.”

Even when I covered her ears, she could answer well.

Gurgling-!

Anne’s sudden trembling could be heard.

There was less hesitation than before.

“Um. Um. Um.”

Anne nodded her head a couple of times and met my eyes.

Her blue sparkling eyes were beautiful.

“Are you okay?”

“Please continue. I think it’s better than before.”

“Keep it like this?”

“Why? Are you uncomfortable…?”

“It’s not like that. If it’s convenient for you, you can keep doing it.”

“Are you going to keep doing this?”

Anne’s question was meaningful.

The tone used in the continuation felt oddly slow.

A soft, faint tone of voice. It was a nuance as if she was hoping for something.

“You can keep doing this until tonight.”

“Is that so…?”

Anne continued to hesitate, as if she were about to say something, but then she caught her breath.

What she finally said was a very simple word.

“Thank you.”

“Nothing much. I told you. You are my lifesaver.”

“Haha. Are you talking about the first day?”

“I almost died.”

“You were dying.”

“Now it’s the opposite.”

“I’m not dying. Best of all, I’m not even that broken. Now look!”

Anne pushed her face towards me.

Okay. At that time, I was so exhausted that I didn’t know if the dirt was me or if I was the dirt.

Her soft and fluffy condition now was better than mine.

Well, I wasn’t sure about the mental aspect. At least it looked fine from the outside now.

“Yeah. It’s pretty.”

“Urg.”

I guessed I wasn’t expecting that kind of answer.

Anne slowly avoided my eyes and slowly leaned her body back.

She looked uncharacteristically a little embarrassed.

“Aren’t you sleepy?”

“A little. But I can’t sleep because I keep hearing thunder…”

“If I keep doing this, won’t you be able to sleep because you won’t hear thunder?”

“I can hear it well…”

“Just lie down first. Think about it later.”

“Huh…”

I lay Anne down with my hand over her ear.

The way she closed her eyes tightly made her look like a cute angel.

Beautiful. When it came to her beauty, there was no one who could match Anne.

I was once again amazed at her appearance.

“Sing me a lullaby.”

“Suddenly?”

“Huh.”

It was sudden, but I slowly remembered which lullaby I knew in my head.

Eventually, I remembered the lullaby my mother once sang to me.

Even though I consciously tried to speak in Korean, it was automatically translated.

“Hush, sleep, my baby…”

“…”

Anne’s breathing calmed down.

The restless thunder slowly ceased its sound.

There was no light, only the pitter-patter of raindrops hitting the window due to the influence of the wind.

She was sleeping.

I could tell by her constant inhalation and exhalation that she was not pretending to sleep.

Anne’s tightness loosened, and naturalness returned to her face.

Gurgling-

Anne didn’t move even when thunder exploded a little far away.

Okay. I put her to bed, so I could go now.

With that in mind, I removed my hand from Anne’s ear and was about to get up.

“Don’t go…”

The voice that came out in her sleep was very sad.

A voice filled with sadness.

Was she having some kind of nightmare?

My legs, which were trying to get up, stopped at the sound of that voice full of sorrow.

Okay.

Well, I could stay up all night.

I wondered what she was doing, but I didn’t take my hand off Anne’s ear, reminding myself that I was returning the favor.

I could feel the soft texture of her cheek quite well.

Anne’s expression changed from sadness to a faint smile, as if she had just transitioned into a good dream.

It was kind of fun to look at that expression on her face.

Even so, I felt good when I saw Anne’s face.

Because she was a beauty.

The dawn of the 41st day of spring, when thunderstorms were raging like that, was setting.

The morning of the 42nd day of spring.

It wasn’t until the thunder subsided that I realized that I had been sleeping.

At some point, I opened my eyes.

As I looked at the situation with open eyes, not even realizing that they were closed, I saw Anne’s fluffy eyes in front of me.

“What…?”

My subdued voice transformed into a very low bass tone.

A growling-like noise came from roughly scratching my neck.

“Uh…Did you sleep well?.”

The way she fluttered around in her blanket was very cute.

As Anne moved her body, she realized that I had slept with my hand on her ear.

It must have been uncomfortable.

When did it happen?

“If you wake up, at least tell me…”

“No. You were sleeping with your hand on my ear… I’m sorry I woke you up. It must have been like that all night.”

“You told me not to go. And you told me to keep doing it all night.”

“You keep your promises.”

“Yo should keep your promises.”

“Thank you. It’s all thanks to you.”

When I heard Anne’s soft voice, I took my hand away from her ear.

I felt like I could smell Anne’s faint scent on my hand.

“I’ll go.”

“Huh.”

“See you next time.”

“Huh.”

I headed out, leaving Anne behind.

It was sunny.

The floor remained moist as if it had never rained, and clear sky blue clouds and sunlight welcomed me.

It was a pleasant morning.

Since I couldn’t buy any seeds, this morning’s routine was going to be very simple.

I thought so.

“Nice to meet you.”

“Uh. Who are you?”

“Ah. Didn’t you write the melon trading contract two weeks ago? I am the person in charge who was appointed this time. My name is Horn. I will see you often in the future, so please take care of me.”

“Ah! Nice to meet you. My name is Minho.”

The event that opened the morning was unfamiliar, but very welcome.

Several soldiers. And one well-dressed man called Horn.

Finally, my 150,000 goals. Up to 200,000 goals had arrived.

It was a bit unfair to call someone gold, but isn’t that what trading is all about?

“Can I see the object?”

“Just look at it. It’s ready.”

“Oh. Good. Can we look at it now?”

“Sure.”

Originally, it would have been exactly two weeks ago, coming two days prior.

But in medieval times, how could the concept of time be so precise?

Typically, there was a leeway of three to four days, and it was acceptable.

A smile appeared on Horn’s face as he examined the item.

I thought they were going to be strict and straightforward in their business dealings.

“It looks very good. Is it okay to eat it?”

“Of course. Of course.”

“Cut this in half.”

A soldier approached and cut the melon straight with a dagger.

The blade entered without resistance, and the juice flowed sweetly down it.

“You guys try it too. Hmm.”

Horn took a bite of melon and nodded his head.

I was relieved to see him nodding repeatedly.

Okay. There was no problem with the quality of my musk melon.

The soldiers were also nodding their heads.

One soldier buried his mouth in the fruit, seemingly ready to devour everything.

I felt proud inside.

The only time my crops were recognized like this was when people genuinely enjoyed them.

“Excellent. It’s so delicious. Let’s proceed as per the contract. Are all the products melons, or are there strawberries mixed in as well?”

“I can make it all with melons. Do you want strawberries too?”

“You said if it could all be melons, then make it melons. So, is it okay to get all 10,000 of them as melons?”

“Of course. Oh, here. Would you like to take this too and check it out?”

“Huh? This is a strawberry… It’s rather large.”

“Yes. It’s called Kingsbury.”

“Did you develop it yourself?”

“That’s correct.”

“I see. Is it okay if I taste this too?”

“Of course. Let’s share and eat together. I’ll give you some more to taste.”

“We appreciate it.”

I chopped the Kingsberries, and Horn and the soldiers tried them, repeatedly exclaiming how delicious they were.

Judging by their response, I was glad the Kingsbury transaction would go smoothly.

Kingsberries and melons were loaded onto the wagon.

The task of moving them wasn’t difficult. All I had to do was pour them out of my bag.

Was it because of this? The soldiers’ faces brightened.

Well, a reduction in workload is always welcome.

“We have confirmed the quantity of 10,000. Here, as promised, is the payment: 200,000 gold.”

“Thank you.”

“We’re grateful to you for growing such quality crops. We look forward to your continued support.”

“Yes.”

“Let’s go!”

The deal with Horn was completed neatly and quickly.

10,000 melons disappeared, and 200,000 gold came into my hand.

200,000 gold.

I couldn’t wipe the smile off my face.

Hehe, nothing could erase this joy now.

It was a very pleasant morning.

I was really looking forward to shopping tonight.

With nothing to do in the morning, I ran straight to the lake to fill the remaining 600 minutes of swimming time.

After a quick meal of fish, I let my body drift in the water.

I hadn’t slept well, but I felt fine.

By the time my body had melted away the fatigue from swimming, ten hours had passed.

I finished my swimming duties just as the sun set, casting a brilliant red glow over the sky.

The sunset was beautiful.

Okay.

This was the moment when fishing finally reached the advanced level.

I would sleep at night, and in the morning, I would be in deep pain.

The slight fear that accompanied me was like an unavoidable companion.

I looked at the painkillers in my bag, then carefully examined the food I had prepared.

Buff food for times like this.

Two defense +1, giving a total defense +2 buff.

Knowing everything was ready, I slowly returned home.

Today had been a very happy day for shopping, but it was also a dreadful day, preparing for the pain to come in the morning.

Well, this was a consequence I fully expected, so I just bit my lip and remained calm.

In my spare time, I tidied up the fields and around my house for the first time in a long while.

As I spent time logging and mining, the sky soon turned a deep blue.

Time passed quickly.

I took painkillers and ate food that boosted my defenses.

I planned to eat more in the morning, hoping the food and painkillers would help, and slowly fell asleep.

And so, the night of the 42nd day came to a close.
