Infinite Paths: The Raging Phoenix
Chapter 917: Electric Mage's path
"Only someone disturbing would have such a disturbing place…" Iori said.
"Since you think like that, you can share the bedroom with Nigel, I am sure you two will get along," Rain said. "Anyway, what have you done since you learned that I apparently died?"
"... Nothing, until I heard that your family survived, I didn't find them for a while, until I met some dragons and they told me what we're their targets," Iori replied.
Iori was being cooperative in order to have his chance to escape from that place eventually. He could tell that Rain truly had disappeared for one hundred years for a reason, but he also had heard from the dragons that he was truly dead and killed by the dragon god… so he knew that for a fact that there was a way to return to life.
He didn't know how and the fact that the preparations had to be done before his death, though.
"What are you planning now?" Larisa asked.
"I want to know what this guy finally learned, but I need to check the others and cause massive damage to the water dragons," Rain said. "The dragon god didn't realize my return yet, so I can keep acting the same way I did."
"Wouldn't be better to ask him what he knows about the dragon god's recent activities?" Larisa asked. "Still, now that I think about it..."
"I have the feeling that he wouldn't know since he isn't a true ally of the dragons, they are only using each other," Rain said. "After this, my guess is that the dragon god went missing since the time he attacked me."
"... That is true, no one heard anything from the dragon god since that meteor," Iori said.
Iori confirmed that, but it only made him look suspicious, it was only natural. Regardless, Larisa also wanted to ask how Rain managed to defeat Iroi, but he wouldn't explain that to anyone, so she didn't ask.
It was simple, Rain just used wind magic to punch him over and over. The fists were made of wind, and in the vacuum, they were completely invisible… at the same time, whenever they hit him, the wind would pierce a single spot with all its might and using all that wind… when it reached a pore, it made him bleed out.
Also, Rain was only able to hit him truly when he got too close… The barrier was on the way, but Rain was still able to ignore the barrier to some extent because he left one of his relics invisible inside it… thanks to his rage, he never noticed that.
In any case, Rain returned to the real world and dashed toward the battle with all his might… he saw quite the carnage scene near the beach of the Island.
All of the demi humans and the sea folk were lashing themselves toward the dragons and attacking them, even when they were being smashed by tentacles, blown away by blasts of water, they kept attacking the monsters and increasing the wounds in their bodies. The others that followed them used the wounds to cause even more damage at the cost of their very lives.
As such, the number of bodies of the dragons was insanely high… and the others were still fighting not realizing yet that reinforcements would never come. When some of them tried to escape, people like Isa, Sealyn, and Seadrei would chase them and attack them from behind and destroy their heads.
"It is amazing that they can do this kind of encirclement," Rain thought. "Anyway, I missed most of the party."
Since both sides had been fighting all out for a couple of hours, the number of deaths was hard to measure… around eighty percent of the dragons had already been killed. So, Rain didn't have much work ahead of him… he still decided to polish that technique against them while he remained hidden.

…
In the end, Rain only killed ten of them using the same technique with wind magic before the battle was finally over… the dragons moved to a single place when they realized their imminent defeat and decided to sacrifice some of them to create an exit out of the trap that they fell… from the one thousand that attacked, around one hundred survived… but the water dragons force was no longer be a real threat.
The Wind Mage's path leveled up.
