Infinite Evolution: My Idle Evolution System

Chapter 327: Venturing Into The World's End Gate

"How can you be so calm right now, Cassius?" Viola whispered from beside Cassius, her tone grave. "These sudden changes have stunned the entire world silent, so how can you… how can you just stand there and smile…?"

"How can I smile, you ask?" Cassius parroted, briefly recalling all the times he had been tortured and killed. "In life, if you don't even possess the capability to smile during the worst of times, how are you ever going to surpass your limits? How are you going to be able to withstand the impact that greater disasters in the future will have on you?"

Viola was nearly awed by his philosophy, but that was when she remembered who she was talking to. "You're just spouting some random bullsh*t, aren't you?" she asked while blankly staring at his handsome side profile.

"You thinking that really does hurt my feelings," Cassius remarked, concealing an indiscernible smirk. "How could you suggest that I, of all people, am someone who talks out of their a*s? That's simply preposterous—"

*Puh!*

A flying punch hit him square in the side. But with the dispersion of a bit of smoke, one could see as clear as day that the punch Viola had put her everything into amounted to nothing much. In fact, she herself received some rather painful backlash…

"Oww, you jerk," Viola mumbled as tears welled up in her eyes. "Just how strong are you? Why does it always seem like you're stronger than you were the last time I saw you?"

Cassius lightly chuckled, watching as the World's End Gate finished its advancement from the Silver Rank to the Gold Rank. What sounded like a heavenly gong rang out as soon as this occurred, signifying the beginning of the Floor's Nexus Event.

A few impatient entities could be sensed in the folds between space, but Cassius paid them no heed. They'd naturally be dealt with when it was their turn. However, seeing as they were waiting on the benches for now, he wasn't going to mess with them just yet.

"Your question is kind of pointless, you know?" Cassius said playfully. "Even if I were somehow capable of becoming stronger, you wouldn't be able to tell the difference. After all, would a helpless, blind insect know if it were to be crushed by a donkey or a T-Rex? No, it'd just know that it was crushed by something larger than it was."

"...I understand what you're saying," Viola said, a small pout forming. "But you're still a jerk!"

*Puh!*

Cassius—remaining unaffected by the cute Guild Leader's cotton punch—calmly observed the World's End Gate stabilize in the Gold Rank. The energy tendrils flailing around the Gate were enough to bring to their knees many of the Dissonants in disguise. And that was with them all being thousands of meters away from the Gate…

Viola and the human S-Rank Hunters were experiencing some strain as well. But fortunately for them, Cassius was there to tremendously reduce the pressure they felt.

The reporter helicopters, on the other hand, were not so fortunate. The propellers that kept them in the air immediately malfunctioned, with the helicopters' mainframes being speedily crumpled. However, before the passengers of the aircrafts could be similarly crumpled, Cassius—as magnanimous as he was—teleported them out of the area with his VoidWarper Skills.

Viola's eyes widened at this sight. "You can already utilize the Space Element to such a level? I didn't feel even the slightest spatial vibrations when you teleported them away!"

"What can I say?" Cassius said with a smirk. "You're a great teacher, and I'm a fast learner."

"Who are you trying to fool?" Viola's pout became more prominent, with her fists somehow always finding their way back to Cassius's side. "We both know that me giving you a few pointers didn't accomplish a single thing that you wouldn't have been able to figure out on your own."

"Sure," Cassius snarked, his striking blue eyes paying close attention to the fluctuating Gold-ranked Gate. "But without your assistance, I never would've gotten the hang of it so quickly. Thanks to you, I'm now capable of teleporting items from halfway across the world to wherever I want. My control and accuracy are off the charts—because of you."

"You…" Viola murmured, her flushed cheeks a stark contrast to her conflicted voice. "Why are you so unintentionally smooth with your words…?"

She whispered that in a nearly inaudible tone, but with Cassius's absurd Perception Stat, how could he not hear what was said?

With a small smile, he gave her a couple of head pats. "When we go into the Gate, make sure to stick close to me," he suggested. "I'll guarantee your safety."

Viola harrumphed like a tsundere. "And why would I need you to do something like that? I can take care of myself, you know?"

With a swift, sudden movement, Cassius cupped her cheeks and forced her to stare into his deep, cloudy eyes. "Just do as I say," he commanded. "You're quite pleasing to the eye, you see. I don't want you dying anytime soon, for that would mean you'd be depriving me of something I like. Be a good girl; do what I tell you to."

Viola's complexion turned a shade of red thirty times deeper than before. She squirmed in place, sensually rubbing her succulent thighs together. An attempt to avert Cassius's piercing gaze was made, but with his large, veiny hand tightly clasping her face in place, looking away was deemed impossible.

In the end, all she could say was, "Y…Yes… I won't leave your side…"

"Good," Cassius said before letting go of her face. "Also, if we're to somehow be forced to split up, hold that necklace I gave you close to your person. I infused it with more of my power—enough that even if it's monsters in a Gold-ranked Gate, you'll be able to survive for a while."

Viola merely nodded, still profusely blushing. A suspicious liquid trickled down her smooth legs, producing a distinctly promiscuous aroma.

'She's still the same pervert I remember,' Cassius thought as he watched her lips curl up in a creepy, crooked way. 'A big pervert… Haiz…'
