Chapter 18: Chapter 18 What's So Good About Him?
At this time, the cafeteria was almost about to close, and when Xie Yanchuan arrived, there were only some leftovers, which weren't very appetizing.
Yet Xie Yanchuan didn't want to waste time, and the restaurants surrounding the school were likely no better, possibly even less sanitary than the cafeteria itself.
So Xie Yanchuan casually picked a couple of items and, carrying his tray, found a place to sit.
Seeing a message from Xu Jinzhi, Xie Yanchuan paused for a moment, a faint smile playing on his lips, then he put down his phone and began to eat slowly, savoring each bite.

Xu Jinzhi almost twisted her ankle as she left the house in the morning, but thankfully it was nothing serious, and she rushed to the office.
There was a regular meeting in the morning, but nothing important was discussed, so the meeting ended quickly, and afterwards Xu Jinzhi returned to her office to continue working.
The knocking sound came and without looking up Xu Jinzhi said, "Come in."
Assistant Chen entered, carrying documents that needed Xu Jinzhi's review and a small red box.
"Mr. Xu, these documents need your review and signature, and this," Assistant Chen placed the items on the desk, "is Xiao Wen's wedding candy."
Xu Jinzhi was surprised. "Xiao Wen is back? Why didn't she bring it herself?"
Xu Jinzhi had an assistant named Wen Rou, who was anything but gentle. In her previous life, she had always been Xu Jinzhi's right-hand woman, and she had taken leave to get married before Xu Jinzhi was reborn.
"She won't be back at work until tomorrow. She and her husband went to register their marriage this morning and dropped the wedding candy off at the office on their way," Assistant Chen said, barely able to conceal his smile, happy for Xiao Wen and glad that his good partner was returning.
"Okay, I understand," Xu Jinzhi nodded.
"I'll go then," said Assistant Chen, and seeing that Xu Jinzhi had nothing more to say, he turned and left.
Xu Jinzhi wasn't busy at the moment, so she picked up the box of candy, unwrapped one, and ate it.
Then she saw on the candy box a photo of Xiao Wen and her husband; the overall style was quite nice. Xu Jinzhi felt inspired; she would have to carefully design her wedding candy with Xie Yanchuan.
By lunchtime, as Xu Jinzhi was eating, she reminded Xie Yanchuan to have lunch on time.
Xie Yanchuan soon sent Xu Jinzhi a photo of him having his meal.
Xu Jinzhi was very pleased with this and said, "Good, as a reward, I allow you to make a small request of me anytime you want!"
Xie Yanchuan didn't reply, not taking Xu Jinzhi's offer of a reward seriously.
Knowing Xie Yanchuan was busy, Xu Jinzhi didn't keep disturbing him. After finishing lunch, she even took a nice nap.
Once the nap was over, Xu Jinzhi continued with her work. Assistant Chen came to the office again, but this time his expression was complicated as he entered.
Xu Jinzhi waited for Assistant Chen to speak, but seeing his indecipherable expression, she couldn't help but frown slightly, "What happened?"
Assistant Chen's complicated expression had a reason. After hesitating for two seconds, he finally said truthfully, "Manager He is here."
"Manager He?" Xu Jinzhi was puzzled.
Assistant Chen said, "It's Manager He Jingyi!"
The boy who couldn't win Mr. Xu over and started crying!
Xu Jinzhi was choked by her own saliva and, seeing Assistant Chen, didn't know what to say; just yesterday they had talked about He Jingyi, and today the man was already here?
Assistant Chen continued, "He is waiting outside and asks to see you."
Xu Jinzhi was about to say no. But from her past life, she knew full well He Jingyi's capabilities—it's said, "You can avoid the 1st, but not the 15th."
If she didn't see him now, she couldn't avoid him later.
"Ugh," Xu Jiuzhi muttered irritably, "Let him in!"
Assistant Chen said nothing, turned around, and went to invite the visitor.
Quickly, there was another knock, and without a word from Xu Jinzhi, the door was pushed open and she saw He Jingyi with a sullen expression staring at her.
As the office door closed, He Jingyi approached Xu Jinzhi. His eyes intensely focused on her, as if demanding an explanation from her.
Xu Jinzhi felt a headache coming on.
Xu Jinzhi was twenty-five this year, and even without recalling her previous life, she still felt young and beautiful. However, compared to He Jingyi, a young man just out of school and barely twenty, anyone could see who was older.
Of course, their differences lay not just in age but in their entire upbringing.
Xu Jinzhi had been raised as an heir from a young age, with a very assertive personality. He Jingyi, on the other hand, was the youngest in his family and had not yet graduated, exuding immaturity throughout.
Nobody would think they were a suitable match.
Yet He Jingyi thought they were perfect for each other, not just suitable, but meant to be!
"Why did you suddenly get engaged?" He Jingyi was angry, yet he tried to remain calm because Xu Jinzhi had said that she liked composed people.
"Suddenly? Not really!" Xu Jinzhi shook her head and said seriously.
"What's so good about Xie Yanchuan? Didn't you say you liked men who are more capable than you?" He Jingyi said, his eyes reddening, resembling a child who had been bullied, extremely aggrieved.
"Xie Yanchuan is really good," Xu Jinzhi replied.
"What's good about him? I've checked already; he's just a lousy teacher!" He Jingyi couldn't restrain his temper upon hearing Xu Jinzhi praise another man and shouted loudly.
Xu Jinzhi furrowed her brow, "He Jingyi, I've told you before, I don't like you, and there's no chance between us."
"Who I like or who I'm with is my freedom. Whether Xie Yanchuan is good or not is not for you to say."
"While it's your business whom you like, it has already disturbed me, and that makes it not just your matter. I hope you learn what 'respect' means."
Xu Jinzhi's voice was not loud, yet it was very serious and stern.
"I..."
"If there's nothing else, please leave and don't disturb my work," Xu Jinzhi interrupted He Jingyi directly.
He Jingyi didn't say anything for a while, just staring silently at Xu Jinzhi. After a few minutes, seeing that she truly wasn't paying attention to him anymore, he finally turned and left.
The office door closed, and just as Xu Jinzhi let out a sigh of relief, the knocking sound came again.
