Chapter 026: Key Card Malfunction

"Knock, knock, knock!"

The door of Room 307 was being knocked on.

"Hello!"

"Room cleaning service."

But the door didn't open.

The cleaner quickly retrieved a key card from the pocket on their chest a master key card that allowed them to open any room.

Lin Ye's expression shifted slightly. He had searched those pockets earlier and hadn't found any key card.

The rules of the hotel had restricted him.

"Room 307 requires cleaning service,"

"Proceeding to unlock the door now."

The cleaner moved closer with the key card in hand.

"Don't..."

Suddenly,

A voice of strong rejection came from within Room 307.

"Room 307 doesn't need any cleaning service. No, absolutely not. Go to another room."

It was Taisuke is voice.

He wasn't dead; he was alive and well.

The cleaner immediately turned to look at Kuroda Hikaru, making the twin-tailed brunette shiver involuntarily, her hands and feet turning cold.

"Taisuke, Taisuke-kun, open the door. We... need room service."

"No! Go away!"

The rejection came again, firm and resolute.

The cleaner lowered their hand.

"Room 307 is occupied and does not require cleaning service. Moving to the next room."

But at that moment,

Time froze once more.

Lin Ye sighed, a little disappointed.

"I had hoped Taisuke wouldn't respond."

He was curious to see what the cleaner would do in a room with someone inside. Would they treat the occupant as garbage and clean them up as well?

The hoarse, stuttering voice sounded eerily similar to that of the previous female receptionist.

The cleaner moved. Her humanoid body twisted into an unnatural form, while the broom and axe swung wildly through the air.

Hoshino Ai and Kuroda Hikaru froze in place, instinctively closing their eyes.

Before long, Hoshino Ai realized she was unharmed. She felt herself being carried away.

It must have been Lin Ye using time-stop.

When she blinked and her vision returned, Hoshino Ai found herself at the elevator entrance. Meanwhile, all the cleaner's attacks at the door of Room 304 had missed.

The cleaner noticed the disappearance of the three people.

"Take the stairs, go down."

Just as Kuroda Hikaru was about to press the elevator button, he immediately turned and ran toward the emergency stairwell.

"Ahhh..."

The eerie cleaner let out a guttural scream,

But her figure stopped at the stairwell entrance, unable to go any further.

Hoshino Ai breathed a sigh of relief.
