Resurrection? Resetting?
Various theories flashed through Lin Ye's mind.
Ai Hoshino watched the woman, who had been screaming moments ago, suddenly reappear as if nothing had happened. Her panic only deepened.
The temperature in the first-floor lobby had dropped further, making her shiver uncontrollably.
But she knew she had to control herself. She had to stay calm.
"Breathe..."
Ai Hoshino thought back to the pressure of stepping onto the stage for the first time, recalling the sadness and bitterness of failing at a concert.
Her fear was suppressed.
Lin Ye stopped in his tracks and turned around. The female staff member now wore a smile as she bowed slightly and asked again,
"Dear guest, how may I assist you? What service can I provide for you?"
In an instant,
Time froze once more.

Just as before, Lin Ye inspected the female staff member again.
There was no difference from a normal human body.
He couldn't find anything remotely strange or supernatural about her.

Lin Ye confirmed one of his suspicions.
As time resumed,
The staff member noticed her disheveled clothes and seemed momentarily bewildered. She then said,
"Dear guest, you're in such a hurry! If you need anything, Mayu can..."
Before she could finish, Lin Ye once again activated his time-stopping ability and kicked her out of the lobby entrance.

Another agonized scream.
The staff member vanished.
But in less than five seconds,
An identical woman reappeared at the front desk. She noticed Lin Ye and approached him, repeating her earlier question.
This time, Lin Ye ignored her entirely. He turned back, grabbed Ai Hoshino's hand, and stepped into the elevator.
Inside, Taisuke, the blond youth, and the middle-aged man who had entered earlier hadn't seen anything unusual. But the two harrowing screams and the eerily familiar inquiries they'd overheard filled them with an instinctual fear.
They wanted nothing to do with whatever was happening.
But why did Lin Ye act so indifferent, as if none of it mattered?!
As the elevator doors closed,
Taisuke stole a glance and accidentally locked eyes with the staff member standing just outside the elevator. His heart froze, an overwhelming sense of danger washing over him.
She had noticed him. She had targeted him!
Taisuke broke out into a cold sweat.
The third floor arrived quickly.
Taisuke and the middle-aged man bolted from the elevator, fleeing as if their lives depended on it.
On the third floor, Kuroda Hikari and Miho Kamimura, who had been waiting, sighed in relief when they saw the group return. However, they quickly noticed the pale, terrified faces of Taisuke and the older man, immediately realizing that something must have happened downstairs.
"You two, check the room and confirm if it's a double-bed setup. If it is, we'll need to go back down to finalize the room arrangements," one of them said.
With a single sentence, the two men shuddered.
Taisuke, the blond youth, and Ichiro Tanaka quickly used their room keycards to open Rooms 304 and 307. Turning on the lights, they hurriedly stepped inside to inspect the rooms.
"King-sized bed," Taisuke called out.
"Same here, mine's also a king-sized bed," Ichiro replied.
Both of them collapsed to the floor, sitting limply.
"Thank goodness we don't have to face that creature anymore," Taisuke exhaled a long sigh of relief.
If they had to go back to the first floor, he wouldn't have the courage to do it.
Lin Ye entered Room 304. The layout was the same as Room 306, with no differences in the furnishings or amenities. He quickly inspected the room, checking the nightstand and wardrobe, but he found the Rule 2 slip of paper in the bathroom.
Room 307 was the same as well.
The three rooms didn't differ much, all equipped with a TV, clock, and various intimate items like lubricant.
"Tonight, how about... we all share one room?" Taisuke suggested immediately.
"No, absolutely not," Ichiro Tanaka retorted firmly.
"I've decided to follow Lin's advice two people per room. I'll share a room with Miho."
"You and me in the same room?"
"No, no way!"
Ichiro Tanaka flatly refused to room with Taisuke.
"Miho, you'll stay with me," he said decisively.
Miho Kamimura, the shoulder-length-haired woman, realized something must have happened downstairs to make Ichiro so adamant about not staying with Taisuke.
"Alright," she agreed.
With that, Ichiro and Miho entered Room 304. The door closed with a bang.
"Then... I guess I'll share a room with Taisuke," Hikari Kuroda said hesitantly.
"Thank you, Kuroda," Taisuke replied. "If anything dangerous happens, I'll protect you."
After making his promise, Taisuke turned to Lin Ye to express his gratitude.
"Lin, without you, I'd be dead by now. I'll never forget what you've done for me. And my promise I'll keep it, no matter what."
With that, he headed to Room 307.
Hikari gave a small bow before retreating to the room and gently closing the door behind her.
Lin Ye and Ai Hoshino returned to Room 306.
"Lin Ye-kun," Ai said softly.
"What is it?"
"Kuroda-san is pretty cute."
Lin Ye, though never having experienced a relationship, had read enough novels and watched enough anime and dramas to understand what Ai was implying.
"She's cute," he admitted.
Ai lowered her head slightly.
"But she doesn't compare to you, Ai Hoshino," he added.
A hint of joy lit up Ai's face.
"You should take a shower first," Lin Ye suggested.
"Ah!" Ai exclaimed in surprise.
That was... so fast!
