A name that appeared on the screen caught Haruto's attention for a moment—Yuina Sato. A news segment covering a member of the famous Sato Family. However, even though the name was familiar, Haruto didn't care. He was not part of that family; at least, he didn't feel any connection to them.

'The Sato Family...' Haruto pondered for a moment. They were a family that worshipped strength, talent, and ability. If someone lacked any of those three qualities, they would be considered useless, cast aside, even humiliated.

Haruto, or more accurately, the person who once owned this body, had experienced cold treatment from that family. They were harsh figures, never accepting weakness. It was no wonder that Haruto, who was now in this body, felt no attachment or sympathy towards them.

With a sigh, Haruto leaned back on the sofa, allowing his thoughts to flow freely without paying attention to the news that continued to fill the screen in front of him.

Haruto shifted his gaze to Jie Li, and his mind began to fill with an unavoidable curiosity. Although Jie Li was known as a teacher at the City Academy, Jie Li's mother, Mei Li, also worked as a librarian at the same place. This added a layer of mystery that piqued Haruto's curiosity.

Why did they both choose to work at the academy? What made them stay there? More than that, what abilities did they actually possess? These questions kept swirling in Haruto's mind, but he realized it would be rude to ask them outright.

Even though Haruto's relationship with Mei Li was quite close, especially due to their shared love for books, his relationship with Jie Li felt much more complicated. There was something left over from the past—perhaps a small misunderstanding—but enough to leave a cold impression on Jie Li every time Haruto tried to engage her in conversation.

As Haruto contemplated, he suddenly realized that Jie Li was staring at him. The girl's gaze was sharp and full of displeasure, as if Haruto had just crossed an invisible boundary.

Jie Li's brows furrowed, her lips were downturned, and her face radiated a clear dislike. Haruto quickly realized that he had unintentionally been staring at Jie Li for too long—perhaps he had been too focused on his own thoughts to remember that his eyes were still on her.

'What am I thinking?' Haruto cursed himself. He knew this was a very wrong situation. Jie Li might think he was staring in an impolite manner.

"Why are you looking at me like that?" Jie Li suddenly asked, her voice cold and serious.

Haruto was taken aback, unprepared to receive such a question.

"Eh...?" Haruto mumbled, filled with confusion, as he hurriedly averted his gaze. However, a sense of nervousness began to creep in. Jie Li was still looking at him, demanding an answer.

"I'm asking, why are you looking at me?" Jie Li repeated her question, this time more firmly.

Haruto began to panic. His mind raced to find a reasonable answer, but in such a desperate situation, only one foolish thought crossed Haruto's mind.
