In One Piece with Gacha System

Luffy returned to where both Nami and Boodle were, shocked to see him alive.

"You're not dead!" Boodle shouted.

"How is it possible that you're still alive?!" Nami screamed this time.

"Why wouldn't I be?" Luffy asked.

"A lion attacked you and destroyed the entire house with one hit. Doesn't that seem like enough?!" Nami said, emphasizing what had happened.

"What's so strange about that?" Luffy wondered.

"Kid, why did you come to this town, and what did you do to those pirates?" Boodle asked him.

"I came here to follow my goal! To get a map of the Grand Line and find a navigator," Luffy said with a smile. "Well, I'm going to check on Zoro and Oliver. That bear guy was going after them."

Luffy started looking for the house where Zoro and Oliver were, but instead, he arrived at Shushu's shop, which was completely engulfed in flames.

Luffy watched as Shushu howled, seeing the shop consumed by fire. That made Luffy go after Mohji.

At the mayor's house, Oliver started to wake up after a short nap.

'Zoro is still sleeping. I doubt he'll wake up anytime soon.'

He got up and made sure Zoro was still asleep before summoning the gacha machine.

'A Devil Fruit. Just one.'

He spent 2 million Belly on a Devil Fruit Token and spun the wheel.

The sphere that came out was black with silver, then shone brightly and revealed...

Oliver blinked a few times, saying nothing, and simply left the house.

The moment he stepped outside, he saw a column of smoke nearby. Knowing what it was, he headed in that direction.

When he arrived, he saw the pet shop burning down completely.

"Young man, you're awake," Boodle said.

"Yeah," Oliver replied, watching the shop, knowing he couldn't do anything to help.

After a few minutes, the shop was completely burned down.

"In the end, all pirates are the same! They take everything you love the most!" Nami said angrily.

Boodle and Oliver remained silent.

Just then, Luffy arrived, completely fine, and looked at them.

"You're still alive, Mr. Pirate? I thought that lion had eaten you," Nami said.

"Don't say things like that," Boodle said, sweating a little.

"Hey, Luffy," Oliver greeted him.

"I'll kill you before you truly become a pirate!!"

Nami tried to attack Luffy, but Boodle and Oliver stopped her.

"Calm down!" Boodle said, holding her by the shoulders.

"You know you can't do anything," Oliver told her.

"You can't kill me," Luffy said, sticking out his tongue at her, making her even angrier.

"Then let's try it right now!" she yelled furiously.

"Calm down! What's wrong with you?!" Boodle shouted.

Luffy ignored her and walked over to Shushu, leaving him a bag of dog food.

"I... this is all I could recover. That lion ate everything else," Luffy said, sitting next to Shushu.

'He fought the lion... for that dog?' Nami wondered.

"You protected the shop really well. Even though I didn't see it, I know," Luffy said.

Shushu looked at the bag, picked it up with his mouth, and walked away with it.

"Woof! Woof!" Shushu barked.

"Yeah! You, too, do your best!" Luffy said with a smile.

Nami laughed at the scene she had just witnessed before stepping forward.

"Sorry, I misjudged you," Nami apologized.

"Huh? It doesn't matter, since pirates killed someone dear to you. I suppose you've had a tough time. However, I don't want to hear your story," Luffy said.

Nami just smiled at Luffy's words.

'Interesting,' Oliver thought.

"Ugh!! I can't take it anymore!!" Boodle shouted.

"Huh?" Nami was confused.

"I'm ashamed of myself! You and even Shushu gave it your all fighting!! But as the mayor, I've done nothing! I've just let them destroy everything!!" Boodle yelled.

"Calm down, Mayor!" Nami tried to soothe him.

"A man must stand on his own!! Isn't that right, kid?" Boodle shouted.

"That's true, old man," Luffy agreed.

"DO NOT ENCOURAGE HIM!!" Nami yelled angrily, but Luffy didn't understand why she was upset.

"I also agree. He's free to do as he wishes," Oliver said.

"YOU DON'T ENCOURAGE HIM EITHER!!"

The mayor began telling the story of how they built the town from nothing. Since there were only a few of them, they helped each other, so the town could prosper.

"See? Where there was once nothing, now stands a great coastal town! This is the town... that I've dedicated my entire life to!! That I've dedicated my entire life to!!" Boodle began shouting.

"This town and its people are my treasure!! If I can't protect them, I'm not fit to be mayor! I will fight!!"

Amid his passion, Buggy had ordered the firing of a Buggy Ball, which destroyed several houses, including the one where Zoro was.

"Ahh! My house!" Boodle shouted.

"AAHHH!! Zoro was sleeping in there!" Luffy shouted in worry.

"I should've gotten him out," Oliver said.

"Will that boy be okay?" Boodle asked.

"Zoro! Are you still alive?" Luffy asked.

Amid the dust cloud caused by the explosion, Zoro got up, slightly dazed.

"I was sleeping so well. Who woke me up?" Zoro said.

"Great! You're okay!" Luffy said, relieved.

"He's fine... luckily," Oliver said.

"How is he... still alive?" Nami said in disbelief.

"I feel like my heart is going to explode," Boodle said.

They watched as he grew furious and prepared himself with his spear to head toward the bar where Buggy and his crew were.

Nami tried to stop him, but when she saw him, she hesitated.

"The mayor was crying," Nami said.

"Really? I didn't notice," Luffy said.

"He looks more like he's enraged," Zoro said.

"Heh, you're right," Luffy said.

"THERE'S NOTHING FUNNY ABOUT THIS!!" Nami yelled.

"Don't worry, I won't let that old man die. I like him," Luffy said.

"If you say so," Zoro said, tying his bandana around his head.

"Are you going too?! What about your wound?" Nami asked.

"This wound... My pride is hurt more than my stomach," Zoro said, now fully prepared.

"Don't worry so much. If he can't fight, I'll take care of it," Oliver said as he made an axe appear.

"You'll fight with that?" Zoro asked.

"I want to test something," Oliver replied.

"Our goal is the Grand Line. We're going to take back the map those pirates stole! Join our crew, Nami!" Luffy said with a smile, extending his hand.

"I will never be a pirate," Nami said, but still, they clapped their hands together. "But I'll work with you, for the sake of our goals."

The four of them rushed to the bar to make sure Boodle wouldn't die.

"Buggy the Clown!! Show yourself!!" Boodle shouted.

From atop the bar, Buggy's pirates appeared alongside Buggy.

"Who are you? Are you here to challenge me?" Buggy asked.

"My name is Boodle, and I am the mayor of this town! Come down and fight me!!" Boodle shouted.

"Hahaha! Did he just challenge our captain to a duel?"

"Does he think he can win?"

"How can he be so stupid?"

Buggy's crew laughed at Boodle while he stood firm, waiting for Buggy to come down.

"Captain Buggy," a man wearing a checkered scarf, sleeveless coat, white pants, and riding a unicycle spoke.

"What is it, Cabaji?" Buggy asked.

"Leave it to me, Captain."

Cabaji pulled a sword from his mouth and then did somersaults in the air, preparing for battle.

"I haven't moved in a while," Cabaji said.

Buggy's crew cheered him on to kill the mayor, but Buggy stopped him.

"Idiot, get down from there! He wants to fight me," Buggy said before turning his attention back to Boodle. "Why do you want to fight me? For fame?"

"WHAT NONSENSE!! I'M HERE TO PROTECT MY TOWN, WHICH IS MY TREASURE!!" Boodle yelled angrily.

"Huh? HAHAHA!! Have you gone mad?! Treasure is used for gold, money, or even diamonds and precious gems, but a town is not a treasure!! DON'T TALK NONSENSE!!" Buggy shouted.

"SHUT UP!! I NEVER EXPECTED YOU TO UNDERSTAND MY FEELINGS!! COME DOWN HERE!!" Boodle shouted back.

"Come down? HOW DARE YOU GIVE ME ORDERS?!"

Buggy used his Devil Fruit power to detach his hand and launch it at Boodle, grabbing him by the neck.

Buggy lifted him up, and Boodle started hitting his own neck along with Buggy's hand.

"I... I'm not afraid!" Boodle shouted.

"THAT HURT!! Are you crazy?! Don't hit your own neck!!" Buggy yelled.

He squeezed his grip tighter, nearly choking Boodle.

"You want me to come down? Do you even know who I am? Say it, who am I?" Buggy said. "After this, I'm heading to the Grand Line, and all the world's treasures will be mine. ALL MINE, ONLY MINE!!"

They brought out a cannon with a Buggy Ball loaded, aiming it at Boodle.

"You say this town is your treasure? Then you'll disappear along with your treasure," Buggy said. "FIRE!!"

"LEAVE THE TOWN ALONE!! COME DOWN AND FIGHT!!" Boodle shouted.

Buggy suddenly felt pain in his hand and saw that Luffy was grabbing it.

"STRAW HAT!!" Buggy shouted.

"LIKE I SAID!! I'M GOING TO KICK YOUR ASS!!" Luffy said with a grin.
