Chapter 6: Food and new features
Ash reached deep into his pocket, pulling out the gadget he had in mind. His hand gripped something soft, and when he finally withdrew it, he saw it—the Gourmet Table Cloth. It was a simple piece of fabric, light blue with tiny patterns of various foods all over it. He remembered this from the show. It was one of Doraemon's most practical gadgets, able to summon any dish from anywhere in the world, as much as you wanted.
As his stomach growled again, Ash wasted no time. He quickly cleared off the small table in his living room, shoving aside the scattered notebooks and pens. Placing the tablecloth down carefully, he sat down in front of it, his stomach rumbling louder now that food was so close.
"Alright," he said, staring at the tablecloth, "what do I feel like eating?"
He thought for a moment. So many choices. He could have anything—literally anything. But for some reason, the idea of something simple and comforting sounded good. He'd had a long morning, after all, and he needed something to fuel his body and mind.
"Alright," he said after a bit of pondering, "let's go with a classic breakfast."
He spoke clearly to the tablecloth, "I want a large stack of pancakes with maple syrup, scrambled eggs, bacon, toast, and a cup of coffee."
The tablecloth shimmered for a moment, and in the blink of an eye, the food appeared. The smell hit him instantly—sweet syrup, crispy bacon, fresh coffee. His mouth watered as he stared at the feast in front of him.
"Wow," he muttered, looking at the perfectly golden pancakes stacked high on the plate. "This is incredible."
Without wasting any more time, he dug in. The first bite of pancake was fluffy and soaked in syrup, melting in his mouth. He devoured it, savoring the sweetness. Then he moved on to the eggs and bacon, crispy and savory, just how he liked them.
As he ate, he couldn't help but praise the gadget. "This is insane. I never have to worry about cooking again. I can just pull this out whenever I want."
He finished the meal faster than he expected, leaning back in his chair, completely satisfied. "Man," he said, patting his full stomach, "I'll never go hungry again. This thing is a lifesaver."
Ash stood up, clearing the table and folding up the tablecloth. With that out of the way, he turned his attention back to his main task—creating the ultimate superhero suit. His stomach was full, his mind sharp, and now he could focus.
Sitting back down at his desk, he opened up the notebook where he'd jotted down his ideas earlier. The basics were covered—strength, speed, flight, and protection against extreme conditions. But this was the Marvel universe, after all, where people had powers that could bend reality, control time, and mess with your mind.
Ash tapped his pen against the notebook. "This suit needs to be more than just strong," he muttered. "It needs to handle anything."
The first thing that came to mind was one of Doraemon's gadgets: the Reflecting Cape. It allowed the wearer to reflect any attack back at the enemy, no matter how powerful it was. But Ash wanted to tweak that concept a bit.
"What if instead of reflecting attacks, the suit absorbs them?" he said to himself, writing down the idea. "It could store the energy from the attack, and I can either nullify it or send it back whenever I want."
He grinned. That way, he wouldn't just be protected from physical attacks—he could absorb energy blasts, fireballs, maybe even magic. This would make him almost untouchable.
Damage Absorption and Reflection was added to the list.
"For extra safety," he continued, "I should probably add a force field. Something that can protect me in case things get really out of hand."
Force Field went onto the page next. He could imagine the field flaring up around him, shielding him from all kinds of dangers.
Then another important thought crossed his mind—what if he got injured? He might have all the protection in the world, but accidents still happened. He needed the suit to be able to heal him if something went wrong.
"Self-healing," he muttered, scribbling it down. "The suit should be able to patch me up if I get hurt."
He leaned back for a moment, looking at his list. So far, the suit was shaping up to be incredibly powerful, but there were still bigger threats out there. He needed to think about time and space manipulation, something that could give him an edge against villains or even heroes with those abilities.
"Teleportation," Ash said, adding it to the list. "I need to be able to get out of bad situations fast, and teleportation's the best way to do that."
But that wasn't enough. There were people in this world who could manipulate time, and he needed a way to counter that. He thought back to all the gadgets Doraemon had, and one stood out—the Time Manipulator. With it, Nobita could control time to speed up or slow down events.
"If I can add something like that to the suit," Ash said, "I can go toe-to-toe with speedsters like Quicksilver or anyone who tries to mess with time."
He jotted down Time Manipulation next to teleportation. The idea made him grin. He could already imagine a scene where he was moving as fast as Quicksilver, matching him step for step. It would be like that moment in the movie where Superman kept up with the Flash. The thought of seeing Quicksilver's shocked face made Ash giddy with excitement.
"This suit's going to be unstoppable," he said to himself. But then, he paused.
"Maybe I'm going a little overboard," he muttered, shaking his head. "But hey, better to be safe than sorry. The last thing I need is to get killed… again."
With his stomach now full and his mind clear, Ash focused on finalizing the design of the suit. He knew that he still had a lot of work to do, but he felt more confident with each new addition. He was creating something that could help him survive in this crazy world, something that could keep him safe from whatever might come his way.
