The chaos did not last long.
Before their eyes, the colossal Jade World Gate, obscuring both sky and sun, began to slowly open.
However, strangely enough...
The communication relayed information through a cold electronic voice rather than that of the staff members. And once the Jade World Gate opened,
the signal abruptly cut off without any further message from Xianzhou Luofu.
After brief discussions, Himeko instructed everyone to prepare for departure.
For this Trailblazing mission, a total of five individuals were selected, led by Welt Yang. The team included Serval, March 7th, Bochang, Stelle, along with Pascal the robot and Sophia the familiar.
Bochang didn't require much preparation; he just needed to gather his belongings. These included the Vow Spear, black bear mask, Sacred Shield, ancient coins, and his erhu.
He could store the erhu and black bear mask inside Pascal's compartment, as there was ample space within.
Back in his room, Bochang pondered for a moment before retrieving the three-starred Destruction Prism—Tianqing—from the system space. Having activated the Destruction fate path, he now qualified to use the Light Cone.
As soon as he held the Light Cone,
the fate path energy within Bochang resonated instantly.
Sudden bursts of unfamiliar memories flooded his mind.
Bochang felt as if he were witnessing a world's destruction unfold before him, accompanied by a surge of unknown techniques originating from within the Light Cone... It was akin to instantly enhancing his mastery over fate path powers.
This sensation resembled the system directly imparting skills.
However, once Bochang severed his connection with the Light Cone, the newfound knowledge rapidly dissipated from his mind.
"If I use the same Light Cone for an extended period, I should be able to fully learn the techniques it contains."
At its core, a Light Cone encapsulates refined memory fragments, preserving experience and abilities. With sufficient learning capacity, one can completely master the knowledge hidden within a Light Cone.
"My internal fate path power is still too weak; I must dedicate time to strengthen it," Bochang mused, rubbing his chin. "I wonder if there will be any opportunity for training aboard the Xianzhou."
"It would be great if the system could directly enhance my fate path power, similar to how it improved my marksmanship."
In Belobog, Bochang had been honing his gunmanship under Dan Heng's guidance. Now, having acquired the Hundred Birds Phoenix Spear, he could train independently without needing strict supervision. There was no longer a necessity to follow step-by-step practice sessions with Dan Heng, especially since Dan Heng wouldn't reveal his most advanced gunfighting techniques anyway.
At that moment...
When the stoic little azure dragon taught Bochang the spear technique, he had mentioned that he would only provide the basics; the rest would depend entirely on Bochang's own practice.
"Pascal, let's go."
After packing his belongings, Bochang left his room with Pascal in tow. Upon reaching the train hall, he spotted Dan Heng waiting there. "Be cautious during your journey to Xianzhou," said Dan Heng. "I've compiled some intelligence about Xianzhou and sent it to the group chat. Hopefully, it will be helpful for you all."
"Are you sure you won't join us?" Bochang asked.
"I cannot." Dan Heng silently shook his head.
Seeing this, Bochang refrained from pressing further.
Himeko and Welt Yang were engaged in conversation nearby. Due to the distance, Bochang couldn't hear their discussion, nor did he have any interest in eavesdropping. Instead, he chose to sit alone on a red sofa, reviewing the information Dan Heng had shared with him.
Shortly after, Himeko approached and sat beside Bochang. "May I briefly speak with you?"
"Of course." Bochang looked up, putting away his phone. "What seems to be the matter, Himeko?"
"Well, regarding your abilities, I feel compelled to remind you once more. The Xianzhou Alliance is not Belobog. Be cautious about revealing certain unique powers, especially the ability to revive deceased beings and grant them their original capabilities... Keep it confidential, or it might attract unwanted trouble."
Himeko's expression was grave.
Everyone knew about Bochang's unique ability, thanks to their group chat where every slightest development would be promptly shared by March 7th.
Both Himeko and Welt Yang were aware of Bochang's power. Upon his return yesterday, he had demonstrated this capability of transforming dead objects back into living beings. However, it only worked on items with significant renown.
Bochang had suggested experimenting with either Herta mannequins or Aeon toys as subjects. But...
The idea of using Aeons for experimentation was unanimously rejected by Himeko, Welt Yang, and Pom-Pom. The reason was straightforward—they could not risk offending the Aeons.
Reviving an Aeon statue might attract the attention of its true self, which could spell disaster for the Astral Express. Moreover, Bochang himself admitted that he had little control over the revived entities. Heaven knows how much power a resurrected Aeon might possess—even if it were just one percent.
Even reviving it for just an instant posed significant danger to the Astral Express Crew.
However, when it came to resurrecting the Pioneer Aeon—an Aeon who had already passed away and maintained a strong bond with the Astral Express—Bochang believed there wouldn't be any issues. Himeko and Welt Yang also agreed that it was worth trying.
Unfortunately, Pom-Pom was unwilling. After all, the revived Pioneer Aeon would not truly be Akivili himself.
Using Herta's puppet would require her consent first.
Regardless, Himeko had already sent a message to Herta, but due to the vast distance, it would take some time for a response.
Yesterday, Himeko had cautioned Bochang in front of everyone not to casually reveal this ability, and now it seemed necessary again.
"Don't worry, Himeko, I'll be careful," reassured Bochang.
"That's good to hear." Himeko finally felt relieved.
After a while...
March 7th, Stelle, and Serval, fully prepared, arrived at the train hall together. The three women walked side by side, their camaraderie growing stronger with each passing day.
As everyone gathered around Welt Yang, he began, "Before we depart, there are two things I need to address. Firstly... The Xianzhou Alliance is incredibly powerful, far surpassing even the defunct Akivili-protected Astral Express Crew. They have the Hunting Aeon, Lan, on their side. I doubt acquiring the Stellaron would pose any significant challenge for them.
"Therefore... either the Stellaron Hunter lied, or perhaps... there's an even greater threat hidden within the Xianzhou."
"Everyone, do not underestimate this mission as you embark on your journey."
Welt Yang adjusted his black-framed glasses while speaking.
March 7th responded, "Uncle Yang, we're aware of these risks."
"Secondly, let me clarify the primary objective of this expedition—although the Stellaron Hunters created quite a smokescreen, the most crucial aspect of our visit to the Xianzhou is..."
With that, Welt posed a question.
Bochang quickly answered, "Of course, it's the Stellaron."
"Correct, securing the Stellaron is our main goal." Welt Yang nodded approvingly. "Since everyone understands, I won't belabor the point. Let's proceed!"
Their group consisted of five individuals, one robot, and one familiar.
Bochang and the others disembarked from the Astral Express, entering the territory of the Xianzhou.
