Chapter 83: Chapter 83: Gaal: Shatter! Sensory Deprivation!
"Amplification Magic: Double Stack."
The dual magic instantly etched into Kyoka's demon body.
The next moment.
A slicing sound pierced the air!
The Sword of Judgement penetrated flesh, a sound sharp and clear.
Gaal's vision was enveloped in darkness, immediately accompanied by a blood-curdling scream: "Aaaaaaah!!!"
And then, silence as even his hearing was taken from him.
Kyoka's eyes rolled back, her head tilted upwards, body convulsing in unprecedented agony. Always casting spells that inflicted multiplied pain on humans, Kyoka now experienced that double-pain herself, a feeling worse than death.
Her mind ceased to function, she stood there dumbly.
Gaal's eyes were empty, his expression void, the outcome of losing all five senses. Yet, he relentlessly drove the Sword of Judgement forward.
Every inch drove a fresh, piercing scream.
Yet Gaal heard none of it.
Not far away, Tempester and Seilah watched in shock: "Kyoka!"
Tempester transformed into a massive demon and charged forward, while Seilah raised her hands: "Macro: Command."
The distant ground obeyed the command, morphing into rocky hands reaching for Gaal and Kyoka.
At that moment.
Green shoots burst forth from the ground where Gaal and Kyoka stood, growing fiercely, shattering the rocky hands, swiftly binding Gaal and layering him in vines.
Meanwhile, the impaled Kyoka, held aloft by the Sword of Judgement, convulsed with Gaal, stifled in pain, amidst the clutches of the climbing vines.
Seilah's Demon Eye watched the forest intensely.
Two beams of magic light burst through the forest, stretching for miles, detonating at the forest's lofty birdcage's end: "Damned human! What are you trying to do?!"
Azuma, with a stern look: "I'm just ensuring if that guy is real or not."
Seilah's face turned grim: "Kyoka is still in his grasp."
Azuma replied coldly: "She won't be harmed."
He then turned towards the vine-shrouded Tower, now seven to eight meters tall.
Azuma's magic power manipulated the vines through the ground: "Tower Burst!"
With a flicker of light, the verdant vine tower violently peeled Kyoka away from the Sword of Judgement, flinging her to a distant ground.
A sudden bright light streaked across.
Boom——!!!
An astonishing explosion bloomed upwards, only dealing a crater within a few dozen meters around, while concentrating the brunt of the explosion at the center. Fire surged upward like a tower, reaching the canopy's zenith.
Tempester halted, stunned by the ascending pillar of fire, as Seilah rushed to aid Kyoka, shielding against the searing heat.
Azuma's expression shifted.
As the fiery pillar subsided.
A sightless Gaal floated gently down from the sky, his platinum striped robe in tatters, hair faded from gold to black, the angelic aura vanished.
Despite the damage, Azuma sensed leftover magic from the explosion.
Gaal had only suffered some torn clothing; the explosion hadn't harmed his body. Azuma frowned: "How is that possible?"
Gaal continued to float down.
Seilah, supporting Kyoka, with a grim look and eyes fixed on Gaal: "This guy..."
Azuma spoke: "Hades said he's fake. This world has no legendary angelic beings; my testing confirmed it."
Hearing this.
Seilah, without hesitation, gritted her teeth, unleashing energy from her Demon Eye, sending beams capable of obliterating half a town towards Gaal.
Upon contact, the beams halted.
Brightened, as if to explode, but dissipated instead.
Azuma furrowed his brow: "What's going on?"
Attempting to bind him with trees, yet the trees touching Gaal did not drain his magic.
Instead, they were drained by Gaal.
Suddenly.
Azuma shouted: "Get back!"
Instinctively retreating steps, not daring to touch the ground.
Seilah and Tempester hesitated but as they realized, they crumpled to the ground.
Their energy was being incessantly drained by the earth.
The source was the descending Gaal, entangled by withered trees.
Only when enough magic power was absorbed, Gaal slowly recovered, the time around him accelerating, instantly swapping back to his black robe.
Boom boom boom boom boom——!!!
A chorus of explosions roared around Gaal, all the attacks that had just vanished.
Yet even these attacks couldn't pierce the defenses of his robe.
When the attacks finally ceased and time returned to normal, Gaal sighed: "That was close."
His tone showed no hint of danger awareness.
Casually retrieving the shattered cross from his chest into his space, thankful for his previously crafted cross imbued with Time Magic, narrowly avoiding him a catastrophe.
This was a wake-up call for Gaal to stock up on more life-saving devices.
He nearly lost this time, without the Time-enhanced cross, he might have been blasted to oblivion.
Raising his gaze at the three demons collapsed far away, Gaal praised: "Impressive ability."
Though long aware of these demons' powers, being caught while standing on the same terrain was unexpected.
Then again, it made sense.
While he could siphon their magic from the ground, their curses could attack through it just as logically.
At this moment.
The demons, due to energy drainage, reverted to their complete demon forms.
Raising his right hand, Gaal conjured a standard long sword, sweeping his left hand across its blade, infusing it with Auxiliary Magic, eyeing the three demons: "Losing all senses... is pretty uncomfortable but it reminds me of something fun. See this sword?"
Gaal held the sword before him as Seilah and Tempester struggled to stand: "Despicable human...."
Gaal's lips curled as he spoke to himself: "Shatter, Mirror Flower, Water Moon."
Crack!
Seilah and Tempester sensed the space before Gaal fracture. Their vision plunged into darkness, five senses vanished.
Watching the demons squirm blindly, Gaal smacked his lips: "Still a lot of development room."
Though named Mirror Flower, Water Moon, it was just attaching Sensory Deprivation magic onto the blade using Auxiliary Magic, reciting a chant to release it.
But now wasn't the time to ponder... there were still enemies left.
Gaal turned towards the restless sea of trees, the whole ground's magic pooling there.
Were they preparing to go down together?
