Chapter 66: Chapter 61: King's Coronation!!!
Next day...
Clover King's palace...
The open area near the king's palace was being prepared for the coronation of the new king and the execution platform for the traitors who betrayed the kingdom and killed the former king, Aldric Kira.
A huge number of Clover Kingdom's citizens were gathered at the arena where the king's coronation was about to be held.
Many from all over the kingdom came to witness the coronation, which might be a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity for them.
A large number of royal guards, overseen by the royal guard Captain David, were patrolling and supervising security for the event.
Members from all the Magic Knight squads were present, assisting the royal knights by maintaining order.
"Asta... don't go far away... come here... kids, don't lose your way. Yuno, bring back Asta."
Among the crowd, Father Orsi, along with a few kids, shouted at Asta and asked Yuno to bring him back.
Meanwhile, Sister Lily stayed back at the orphanage, taking care of the little kids who were not suitable for travel.
After much planning, Hage Village decided to send a group of people to express their wishes and support for Ben, who was about to become king.
Even though Ben was an orphan, the villagers had watched him grow up from when he was a kid.
So when they heard that Ben was about to become king, they felt very proud, knowing one of their own was achieving something they could never have imagined.
Among the group, Father Orsi, Asta, Yuno, and some kids their age accompanied the delegation.
Near the coronation stage, where the grand throne was located, all nine Magic Knight squad captains were present, along with some important members of their squads.
sigh~
"Damn... Fuegoleon, you interrupted my training just to make me stand here."
With clear anger in her voice, Mereoleona glared at her brother with narrowed eyes.
She didn't hide her frustration at being summoned by her brother, who claimed something very important had happened without giving her the full details.
sigh~
"It's an important event, sister. The king's coronation is more important than your training."
With a defeated sigh, Fuegoleon looked at his tomboyish sister, who was practically sending daggers at him.
"So what... all the king does is just sit in one place and show his face at some important gatherings."
Rolling her eyes, Mereoleona spoke with disdain, recalling a certain perverted, fat king who once tried to hit on her.
Before she could trash him, her brother, Yami, and Jack immediately pulled her back.
"Don't compare Ben with that loser."
Hearing Mereoleona's comment about kings with disgust, Charlotte narrowed her eyes.
"____"
Looking at Charlotte, who was standing up for a man, Mereoleona was stunned for a moment.
She then put her hand on Fuegoleon's shoulder and pulled him closer.
whisper~
"Why is Charlotte standing up for a man?"
whisper~
In a low voice, she whispered into her brother's ear while glancing at Charlotte curiously.
Even though she had been away from the capital for a long time, she knew well that Charlotte hated men like a plague.
"Because Prince Benjamin Salvador Kira is a member of the Blue Rose."
whisper~
Hearing his sister's question, Fuegoleon whispered back in a low voice.
Not wanting to offend Charlotte by openly stating her relationship with Ben, he simply mentioned they were squad mates.
During a past mission, when Dorothy returned from a music festival at Glabza, she would often tease Charlotte using Ben's name whenever she got the chance.
This would inevitably lead to the two ladies engaging in a battle of words.
After half an hour...
After half an hour, Ben arrived at the coronation stage in his royal carriage, escorted by nearly 50 royal guards on horseback at the front and rear.
The procession was flanked by Royal Guards, marching in perfect synchronization, their polished armour shining like mirrors.
The magnificent royal carriage, with its white and gold exterior, gleamed under the sunlight.
The Clover Kingdom emblem, crafted from shimmering emeralds, was prominently displayed on the carriage doors.
Pulled by four majestic, enchanted horses adorned in ceremonial armor, the carriage moved smoothly, as if gliding over the cobblestone streets.
Each guard held a gleaming spear upright, saluting their soon-to-be king with unwavering precision.
trump~ trump~
trump~ trump~
Trumpets sounded as the carriage came to a stop before the red carpet leading up to the coronation stage, signalling the culmination of Ben's journey to the throne.
The grand doors of the carriage were opened by the king's butler, Harry, with a respectful bow.
sigh~
Come on, Ben, you can do it.
Taking a deep breath, Ben looked at the red carpet and the royal guards saluting on both sides in synchronisation.
With a determined look, he stepped out with regal poise.
chatter~ chatter~
Seeing the prince step out of the carriage, the crowd erupted into murmurs, trying to catch a glimpse of him.
The red carpet stretched before him like a river of authority, leading to the ornately decorated coronation stage.
There, the Wizard King Julius had teleported in seemingly out of nowhere, along with his assistant Marx, who held a crown and a Sovereign's Scepter with a clover symbol at its top.
clank~ clank~
clank~ clank~
On either side of the carpet, the Royal Guards lined up, their sharp movements synchronized as they raised their swords in salute, creating an archway of steel for Ben to walk beneath.
Ben's coronation attire was the epitome of royal elegance and authority.
He wore a deep crimson robe with golden embroidery that traced the four-leaf clover emblem of the kingdom, symbolising his role as its protector and leader.
The robe flowed gracefully behind him, trimmed with white fur that represented purity and strength.
Underneath, he wore a fitted white tunic with golden embellishments, paired with dark, tailored trousers.
Around his shoulders rested a golden mantle clasped with an emerald brooch shaped like the kingdom's emblem.
His boots were polished to a mirror-like shine, and his gloves, made of soft white leather, bore intricate golden stitching.
As Ben ascended the stairs to the coronation stage, the atmosphere grew solemn.
The crowd, which had been chattering moments ago, quieted down to a respectful hush.
After taking a few steps to ascend the coronation stage, Ben paused at the top, turning to face his people who had gathered to witness their new king.
Taking the centre of the stage, the Wizard King began his speech, addressing the crowd who had come to see their king.
After a long speech about Ben and his father Aldric, who was remembered as a good king, the Wizard King started to proceed with the steps of the coronation.
From the start, everything was meticulously planned and arranged, including his speech, by Harry to avoid any mishaps.
"My beloved people of the Clover Kingdom, today is not just the dawn of a new chapter in my life, but a chapter we write together—a future forged by the strength of our unity and the courage of our hearts... As I take this crown, I do so not as a symbol of power, but as a symbol of responsibility that binds me to each of you, from the noble halls to the simplest homes in our kingdom... This throne, this crown—they are not mine alone..."
Looking at the huge crowd and feeling their eyes fixed on him, Ben paused briefly before starting his speech.
silence~
When the speech ended, there was a pin-drop silence across the arena.
cheer~
"All hail! My king..."
After a brief pause, an energetic man cheered loudly, followed by others, resulting in thunderous cheers that echoed across the arena.
Seeing that Ben's speech was successful, the Wizard King stepped forward, with Marx following close behind, holding the crown and Sovereign's Scepter on a velvet plate.
Usually, the king's coronation is performed by the eldest member of the royal family or the king who is stepping down.
But now, the situation was different—Ben was the only remaining member of the royal family, apart from the traitor Augustus Kira, the former king.
Thus, the coronation was being performed by the Wizard King.
The Wizard King took the crown and lifted it high with both hands, presenting it to the citizens of the Clover Kingdom who had gathered to witness the ceremony.
"I hope you change the kingdom for the good."
wink~
After showing the crown to the crowd, the Wizard King placed it on Ben's head. With a wink, he added his words of encouragement.
"____"
Seeing Ben looking at him with deadpan eyes, the Wizard King chuckled, took the Sovereign's Scepter, and shoved it into Ben's hand.
Within seconds, he vanished from the stage using teleportation.
