The Magic Knight captains and other Magic Knights present looked very serious; they knew that the matter the Wizard King was going to discuss was something very important, looking at his serious demeanour.

King Augustus Kira blurted out, a confused look on his face.

Both of them were at odds when the previous King was alive, to the point that there was a strong suspicion that Augustus Kira had a hand in the death of the previous King and the mysterious disappearance of his wife.

But due to the strong backing from several noble houses, Augustus Kira ascended the throne because of the royal blood relation he had with the King, and also because he was the last remaining blood of the King's royal family.

So as time passed, mentioning the previous King before Augustus Kira or in his court became a sensitive topic, which they avoided to prevent offending him.

Hearing that the Wizard King Julius was mentioning the previous King who died 15 years ago, King Augustus Kira's face turned ugly with black lines forming on his face.

"You may know our previous King, Aldric Kira, passed away 15 years ago... and his wife mysteriously disappeared. What happened to her remains a mystery until now."

Reaching Marx, the Wizard King took the black book artefact, which they had just used on Den Bitch to extract the truth from him.

"What nonsense is this, Julius... don't play games, I don't have time for this," Augustus Kira hastily interrupted and tried to walk away, using his momentum.

"Time Magic: Chrono Stasis."

But he was caught by the restraining spell cast by Julius, who didn't even lift a finger to cast it.

A circular white-shaded sphere, with a ring around its orbit, appeared and enveloped King Augustus Kira, who had just tried to walk away.

When someone is trapped within the sphere, they experience a time loop, reliving a moment in time continuously so that they are rendered immobile.

Along with the King, a few nobles who had high status in the kingdom were also trapped.

Everyone in the court started to panic.

Even the Magic Knights and their captains were not spared—they were all shocked.

From what they witnessed, the Wizard King, whose status was so high in their minds, had just attacked their King.

Which is a serious crime that might result in a death penalty if the news of the Wizard King's rebellion spread to the public.

If it happened, chaos would quickly spread through the kingdom, possibly dividing it into two sides.

"Don't panic, guys... I haven't rebelled against our kingdom. I can reassure you that my loyalty is always with our kingdom. I've just captured the suspects who were related to the death of King Aldric Kira."

Wizard King Julius smiled at everyone innocently, and his eyes swept through the crowd, who instinctively shut their mouths. A pin-drop silence descended on the court.

'What is happening? This is not a canon event,' Ben thought, stunned, as he looked at the Wizard King with wide eyes, trying to read what was going on behind that smiling face.

"Ben... do you know anything about this?"

Whisper~

Charlotte, who was sitting beside him, whispered in a low voice to Ben, who was standing behind her.

Whisper~

"No..."

Ben whispered back, shaking his head in denial.

Charlotte asked this question because Ben had been frequently in contact with the Wizard King regarding the new artefacts they were developing.

Even now, Ben had come along with the Wizard King to the court, stating the reason that they had just completed one artefact that would change the course of the case.

That's why Charlotte thought Ben should know about it.

"It's a good thing... you weren't dragged into it."

Another low whisper came from behind Ben, who was chatting with Charlotte.

Augustus Kira even once tried to assassinate Julia, but she was saved by Aldric Kira at a critical moment.

From that moment, the relationship between the uncle and nephew became very strained.

Later, when Augustus Kira apologized to him, the King forgave him, seeing the sincerity of his uncle.

But he didn't know that this would be the worst decision of his life, one that would turn his life upside down.

Augustus Kira, who King Aldric believed had changed for good, was plotting something very sinister.

He, along with a few nobles who were his supporters and his henchmen, was plotting to kill the current King Aldric Kira with a slow, deadly poison curse.

Time passed...

Their plan succeeded, and the King became bedridden due to an unknown illness.

When the King found out about the presence of the dangerous poison curse in his blood, it was already too late.

His uncle had planned everything, and even the healers who visited him were his men, only pretending to diagnose him.

Just when Augustus Kira was on cloud nine, thinking that after he killed his nephew there would be no obstacle to the crown of the Clover Kingdom, he celebrated for days, confident that his goal was within reach.

He knew that after Aldric's death, he would be the only direct bloodline left in the royal Kira family, as the rest were only distant relatives.
