Chapter 53: Chapter 48: Entertain Witch Queen.
After three days...
It's been three days since Dorothy brought Ben to the outskirts of the Witch Forest for his training in illusion magic.
During this time, Ben learned many things from Dorothy regarding illusion magic.
While listening to Dorothy's lecture on illusion magic, Ben could see her vast experience in the area of illusion magic.
Flashback...
First day...
On the first day of training on the outskirts of the Witch Forest, Dorothy traps Ben in the Dreamworld, one of her signature moves.
The Dreamworld is a high-level illusion spell in which Dorothy is nearly invincible and god-like.
Inside the Dreamworld, she can create anything and make the enemy experience every illusion she wishes them to experience.
While Ben is trapped in the Dreamworld, he experiences various illusions that heavily affect his senses.
He experienced many things like losing his vision, losing his hearing, not being able to speak, tasting various foods and drinks, controlling his desires, not being an open book, etc.
For a full day, Ben became the doll that Dorothy manipulated as she pleased in the Dreamworld.
If you compare a wizard's book knowledge on illusion magic to the knowledge the wizard gains by physically experiencing the illusion, the latter is always the most effective and helps in the learning process very efficiently.
"Ben-kun, do you have any illusion spells in your grimoire currently?"
On the second day of training, Dorothy asked Ben, inquiring if he had any illusion magic in his grimoire.
"Yeah... I have one. Let me show you."
Hearing her, Ben nodded and performed his Raven Clone technique for Dorothy.
"Illusion Magic: Raven Clone."
Opening his grimoire, Ben cast his Raven Clone technique, which he created, inspired by Itachi.
Caw~ caw~
Seeing Ben turn into a pack of ravens, and the pack later assembling themselves into Ben at a different spot, Dorothy raised her eyebrows, impressed.
When Ben performed Raven Clone, even she couldn't perceive his location for a second until the ravens reassembled to form his body again.
'It is a strong spell. If used correctly, the opponent will lose their mind, seeing their attacks were fruitless.'
With a single glance, Dorothy understood the reality of the Raven spell.
After seeing Ben's impressive talent, Dorothy helped him develop an illusion spell named "Illusion Magic: Boggarts,"
which he took inspiration from one of his past life's favourite movie series, Harry Potter.
Hearing Ben's thoughts and his plan regarding the path he wanted to take to create the Boggarts spell, Dorothy's eyes widened.
'Showing the enemy's worst fear... huh... Even though I could do it in the Dreamworld, seeing Ben's description of using this spell instead of trapping the opponent in an illusion field, he only wants to transform himself into their worst fear. But the tricky part is, he needs to know the enemy's worst fear to do that.'
After a few minutes of deep thinking, Dorothy nodded and warned Ben that it would be very difficult to achieve this spell in a few days;
he would need to work on it for at least a month to make some progress.
After discussing it, Ben mentioned another idea he had before requesting Dorothy to train him.
"Interesting... to nullify illusion magic, huh..."
Hearing the explanation, Dorothy nodded and gave a few pointers to Ben.
She asked him to first create a circular field around him using his mana and try to cast an illusion resembling reality to nullify the enemy's illusion.
For two days, Ben tirelessly practised the nullify spell with Dorothy's help.
On the third day, Ben was finally able to cast the nullify spell, which got added to his grimoire after casting it successfully once.
When Ben casts the nullified spell, a huge circular dome forms around him, dark and transparent.
To cast this spell, the first point is that Ben shouldn't be trapped in the illusion, and the second is that his teammates must be within the dome to escape the enemy's illusion.
Present...
Witch Queen's Palace...
A woman is sitting on a throne exuding both elegance and menace, looking at the mirror floating in front of her, which she summoned using her blood magic.
Using the mirror, she watched Ben train while Dorothy gave him pointers, standing beside him.
She sat on the throne, holding her chin with her right hand, viewing the training curiously.
She is the Witch Queen, the mother of all witches.
She is a tall woman with a slim build.
She has pink hair, which is pulled up under her hat, and teal eyes.
Beneath both of her eyes are three dark blue teardrops.
Her lips are the same shade of blue.
Her nails are long and sharp and have the same colour.
She wears a light green, layered dress, with each layer of the skirt having a large red eyespot.
The bodice has a high neck and long sleeves.
The skirt flares out into a large hoop.
She also wears a white conical hat with a wide brim.
It has the same layered look as her dress but lacks the eyespots.
The black feather hatband also has a dark red flower in front and a collection of multicoloured jewels on her left side.
From her left ear hangs a purple magic stone, and from her necklace hangs three black feathers.
Three days ago, one of her daughters responsible for patrolling hurried back to the palace.
She informed her that two outsiders had trespassed into the Witch Forest.
What piqued her interest was that one of the trespassers was one of her daughters who had left the Witch Forest to experience the outside world and had returned, not alone but with a boy.
Hearing that a disgusting man had entered her territory made her very angry.
She detests men, and whenever she sees one, she wants to skin them alive and teach them a lesson to stay away from her Witch Forest.
She also hates imperfection to the core; she will do anything within her capabilities to achieve perfection.
That's the reason she imprisoned Vanessa, and it's the same reason she let her escape with Yami's help.
Snort.
'She escaped... I let her escape.'
By using her fortune-telling spell, she saw immense potential in Vanessa's thread magic, which Vanessa would manifest in the future with the Black Bulls.
That's why she let her and Yami leave the forest without placing a big obstacle to stop them.
After hearing the full report from her daughter, the Witch Queen cast a spell to see what the intruders were up to.
She placed a team to observe them from afar.
Hahaha~
At first, the Witch Queen wanted to know the intruders' intentions, but seeing the comical things happening in the mirror—for example, when Ben tripped over a stone and fell face-first—she let out a little laugh and watched the show with interest.
All this time, staying in one place and protecting the Witch Forest and her daughters had made her bored.
So, out of boredom, she watched Ben's training through the mirror to improve her mood.
She treats Ben like a clown performing a show to make her boredom fly away.
'Should I kidnap him and make him my clown? I could make an exception for him.'
A thought came to her mind, which she seemed to be seriously considering.
Witch Forest outskirts...

Seeing the system screen inform him of the hidden task being completed, Ben was happy, but before he could jump for joy, he suddenly felt a shiver down his spine and looked around frantically.
"What are you looking at? Come and sit on the cloud. We are leaving."
Seeing Ben looking around frantically like a frightened cat, Dorothy called him and asked him to climb on the cloud she was sitting on.
"Coming..."
Snapped out of his thoughts, Ben hurriedly climbed on top of the cloud and urged Dorothy to leave quickly.
Curiously eyeing Ben's reaction, Dorothy commanded the cloud to move.
It started to rise and finally moved towards the Clover Kingdom's capital.
