Chapter 44: Chapter 40: Whaaa!!! Baka... Ben!!!
In Glazba...
The carriages carrying Ruth's family arrived at the entrance of the city of Glazba, escorted by the three-member squad of Ben, Anny, and Mary.
Sigh...
"Finally, we arrived,"
Mary sighed after the long journey and landed near the carriage, which had halted at the entrance for identity verification.
Despite the carriage carrying the Ruth family symbol, it was mandatory to pass through these security measures to enter Glazba.
"Such a huge wall!"
Ben looked at the imposing wall before him with wide eyes.
"Well, it's not just for show... its defense is formidable to the point it got the name 'impenetrable,'"
Anny noticed Ben's astonishment and puffed her chest with pride.
"What? Impenetrable... why is that?"
Noticing Anny's proud look, both Ben and Mary became curious and asked her.
"Well, because it was built by the legendary architect Richi Jobstar,"
Anny proudly declared.
"____"
"____"
"Don't tell me he is related to you,"
Ben asked, noticing that both the architect and Anny shared the same family name.
Chuckle...
"Hehe~ yeah... he is my ancestor. He founded this city..."
Anny chuckled, explaining her relationship with the legendary architect, but Ben noticed her sad look when she mentioned the last part while glancing at the wall.
"Whoa~ Anny, I knew you were from a noble family, but I didn't expect your family to have such a history,"
Mary exclaimed, looking at the wall with her hand on her mouth.
Sigh...
"Well... it's all in the past. When my family was thriving... but now the Jobstar family is in decline. We have lost our standing and influence in Glazba, which my ancestor created,"
Anny said with a defeated sigh, shaking her head with a bitter smile.
"What!!! How can something like that happen?"
Mary was shocked after Anny's explanation.
"Well... that is politics, Mary. If one finds out you are in a weak state, they won't hesitate to take full advantage of it,"
Ben explained, walking toward the guards while explaining how politics plays out.
After passing through security, they entered the city.
They were greeted by the sight of a bustling, beautiful, and lively city.
The atmosphere in Glazba was unique, filled with laughter, music, games, food courts, and more.
Glazba is a cultural hub where melodies weave through the bustling streets, captivating the souls of its inhabitants and visitors alike.
The cityscape is a symphony of architectural marvels, with ornate concert halls, grand amphitheaters, and quaint street cafes where musicians serenade patrons with their tunes.
They arrived at the hotel where Valentine was going to stay to participate in the music festival.
Before Valentine and her family could enter the room, Ben, Mary, and Anny made sure it was safe by thoroughly securing it.
The rooms were arranged so that the center two rooms were occupied by Ben, Anny, and Mary, while the other rooms were beside them on both sides.
After checking in at the hotel, Ben asked Anny to contact Coral Peacock to get the details from them.
Knock... knock...
"Who is it?"
Ben narrowed his eyes and asked, hearing a knock on the door.
"It's me, Valentine,"
a female voice came from outside the door.
"Come in."
Hearing it was Ms. Valentine, Ben asked her to come in.
"Sir Magic Knight, can we go to the Harmonic Tower to register for the musical competition there?"
Valentine entered and looked at the three magic knights who had escorted her, stating her reason for the visit.
"Harmonic Tower? You mean that tower, right?"
Ben confirmed, listening to Valentine point at the huge tower at the center of the city which is visible through the balcony.
"Well... we can visit there, Ms. Valentine, but we need to wait for some time for a magic knight from the Coral Peacock to arrive, who is carrying the details of the mission we requested,"
Ben explained.
Valentine nodded her head and was about to go back to her room.
"Wait... Miss Valentine, you will be staying here, and I will stay in your room for safety purposes. Don't inform others about it, including your family. For them, you are staying in your room, not here. Anny and Mary will be with you, and the room beside us will be left empty for a reason,"
Ben explained their plan to Valentine.
"____"
"I... I have no objection to staying here. But... why leave the next room empty?"
Valentine asked, curious.
wink~
"Hehe~ it's a secret..."
Ben winked and placed his fingers on his lips with a mysterious grin.
"And also, there is another part of the plan that needs to be implemented. If you are okay with it..."
Ben continued, seeing Valentine agree to the previous plan.
"What is it, Mr. Magic Knight?"
Valentine asked, wanting to know more as long as she could participate in the musical festival and keep her family safe.
"Ms. Valentine, are you currently in any relationships?"
Ben asked.
"No, I am not..."
Valentine answered in a low voice, her cheeks flushed red.
Sigh...
"Then what do you think about dating me?"
With a deep breath, Ben confessed.
"Whaaa!!!"
"____"
"Whaaa!!! Baka... Ben, what are you saying?"
Slam...
Mary slammed the flower vase beside her seat on Ben's head.
"____"
'Ouch~ my head... what are you doing, Mary?'
Ben looked at Mary confusedly.
"Well, it's not a real date... the psycho killer is obsessed with her. So if I act as her boyfriend, wouldn't he target me? We could use this chance to catch him,"
Ben hurriedly explained, seeing Valentine's flushed face and Mary's ominous aura.
After hearing Ben's explanation, Mary became embarrassed and apologized, while Valentine looked a little disappointed but agreed to follow Ben's plan.
Knock... knock...
After waiting for some time, they heard another knock on the door.
"Who is it?"
Ben asked again.
BOOM...
"Ta-da~ I am here!!!"
Suddenly, the door burst open as a pink mist entered the room along with party papers bursting from nowhere.
A figure rushed in on a flying broom with a dramatic entry.
Seeing the unexpected entry, Ben, Anny, and Mary stood before the worried Valentine to protect her.
"Captain Dorothy???"
Ben and the others exclaimed, shocked and confused.
"Ben-chan, you remember me. I always wanted to meet you, but your captain, Charlotte-chan, wouldn't allow me,"
Dorothy moved toward him curiously.
"We were expecting someone from Coral Peacock to arrive but not expecting it to be their captain,"
Ben said, looking at Dorothy's curious eyes as she examined him like a rare specimen.
"____"
Ben was left speechless, while Anny and Mary were reading the report of the old mission without paying him any attention.
After Dorothy calmed down, she went back to her usual laid-back, sleepy self.
But Ben knew she was someone who could imprison all the remaining captains in her dream world without breaking a sweat.
After she calmed down, Ben explained the plan he drafted and also about the serial psycho killer.
"Psycho killer... huh~"
Dorothy muttered, opening one of her eyes.
She might look like she didn't care much about this case, but that was not true.
She wanted to personally erase the existence that had tarnished her squad's name five years ago.
