Imprisoned in the Past

Chapter 101: Chapter 50: Wands and World Cups

Diagon Alley , 5/7/1994, 13:37

Harry and his family were currently making their way through Diagon Alley to buy the twins their wands. Their book list wouldn't come out until sometime in July but Harry thought it would be a nice birthday surprise to get their wands a bit early. There was also the fact that he was just as excited for them to get their wands as they were.

The five Peverells were currently making their way through the crowded streets walking towards the wand shop. The kids literally bouncing in the balls of their feet. Bellatrix was pushing Hardwin's stroller leading the way to their destination while Harry walked a little behind her with with Carina and Ignotus walking on either side of him.

"Dad, are you sure you can't get us special permission to bring our brooms with us this year?" Ignotus asked as they passed Quality Quidditch Supplies where a shiny new Firebolt was on display in the shop's window.

"Absolutely not," Bellatrix said before Harry could answer.

"You're mother's right, Absolutely not," Harry agreed, shooting his wife a look of amusement.

"But what's the point of having a daddy for a professor if he can't pull a few strings for us?" Carina pouted.

"I can get you to the head of the line to shovelling manure on the pumpkin patches whenever you get detentions, and I can even make it so that you get to use shovels with your initials engraved on them," Harry offered giving Carina a teasing grin.

"You make students shovel manure in detention?" Ignotus asked sounding horrified.

"Of course, I don't want the house elves overworking themselves," Harry beamed.

"Please tell me that my niece had to shovel manure during her detentions," Bella exclaimed giving Harry a hopeful look.

"Of course she did, Tonks drove me mad when she was in my classes so I tried to make her miserable in detention," Harry said earning himself a wide smile from Bellatrix.

"But you wouldn't do that to us, right Daddy?" Carina asked.

"I'm sorry, Princess but if you get detention you will suffer just like everybody else does," Harry said not even trying to fight his grin.

"So you had best not get detention," Bellatrix said shooting both twins a pointed look.

"Yes Mother," Carina said dutifully.

"Sure, Mum," Iggy said giving her an unconvincing smile.

"Da-da," Hardwin gibbered from his stroller waving his hands excitedly.

"I think he wants to go to the ice cream shop," Harry chuckled as he saw where the toddler was looking.

"Since when has he ever had ice cream?" Bella asked, giving Harry a look of amusement.

"I may have taken him the last time we came to the alley," Harry confessed looking a bit sheepish.

"Well we may go for ice cream after the wand shop," Bellatrix said getting wide grins from the twins.

The alley turned to the right and the bank came into view looking just as pristine as Harry remembered it from his first trip to the alley. The goblins had waited almost a year to rebuild and it took them less than a month to complete the project which annoyed many of the purebloods who had been forced to travel to France for the better part of a year to handle their finances.

As soon as they passed the bank, Harry spotted Olluvander's at the very end of the alley and unlike the other shops, it looked completely empty. The shop was tiny and looked ancient compared to some of the other shops in the alley. Hanging over the door was a weathered sign with the name of the shop painted on it in peeling golden paint.

Ollivanders, Makers of Fine Wands since 382 B.C'.

It didn't take them long to make it to the shop and Harry held the door open as Bella and the kids stepped inside.

The shop was just as Harry remembered it, there was a single wand resting on a faded velvet cushion in front of the shop's window for passersby to see. The tiny shop's floor space was unused with the exception of a single, spindly chair in the corner. Along the back wall were shelves filled with thousands of narrow boxes containing wands and a closed doorway that led into a backroom that was Harry was certain Ollivander crafted his wands. The shop was dusty and the smell of wood shavings hung heavy in the air.

Harry had a case of deja vu when Ollivander seemed to appear out of thin air right behind him making the twins shriek in surprise. Harry wasn't nearly as surprised as he'd been when he was eleven, but it still made him jump.

"May I help you?" Ollivander asked, his silvery eyes looking slightly unnerving as they peered at each customer in turn.

"Yes, our twins turned eleven today so I thought this was the perfect time to purchase their wands," Harry said as Bella scooped Hardwin out of his stroller.

"Very wise, sir. It gets very hectic in here when the Hogwarts letters come out," Ollivander beamed.

"My thoughts exactly," Harry agreed.

"Well let's get started, shall we?" Ollivander said as he drew a measuring tape from the pocket of his robes.

"Who's first?" Ollivander asked, looking at the kids expectantly.

"Ignotus is the oldest, he should go first," Bellatrix suggested.

"Only by a few minutes," Carina pouted but nonetheless let her brother step forward to get measured.

"We'll let you get your ice cream first, Princess," Harry soothed as he watched the enchanted tape begin to measure a perplexed-looking Ignotus.

When the tape was getting his measurements, Ollivander took a single box from the shelf and gently removed the lid.

"I believe that is enough," Ollivander muttered, causing the tape to stop measuring the distance between Iggy's nostrils and roll itself up.

"Try this, ebony and dragon heartstring, twelve and a quarter inches, decently snappy," Ollivander instructed as he caught the rolled-up measuring tape in one hand and offered Iggy the box with the other.

"Wh-what do I do with it?" Ifgy asked nervously as he picked the wand up.

"Just give it a wave," Ollivander encouraged.

Iggy gave the wand a bervous flick causing the spindly chair to be thrown across the room.

"No, definitely not," Olluvander said and snatched the wand out of Iggy's hand and put it back in its boxbox before grabbing another off of the shelves.

"Maple and phoenix feather, ten inches," Ollivander said offering the wand to Iggy.

Harry noticed that the spindly chair walked on its own back to where it had been a moment ago in time for Ollivander to set the wand Iggy had just tried on it.

This wand was not a match either and emitted an earsplitting sound until Iggy put it back in the box. The next few wands Ignotus tried had similar reactions though thankfully none reacted as violently as the first. It was when Ollivander offered him the tenth wand that something truly remarkable happened.

"Ah here we are, holy twelve inches nice and supple," Ollivander said offering the boy the wand.

Harry watched with bated breath as his oldest took hold of the wand. Harry didn't have to see the wide grin on Iggy's face or the bright red sparks emitting from the wand's tip to know that he'd found a match, Harry could almost feel the happiness radiating from the wand itself, reminding him of the feeling of a patronus.

"A perfect match," Ollivander beaned.

"What is the core?" Bellatrix asked with interest.

"The horn of a very old horned serpent," Ollivander said as he took the wand from Iggy.

Harry watched Ollivander place the wand back in its box before he offered Ignotus the box.

"Thank you, sir," Iggy said as he accepted the box, a look of awe etched on his features.

"He will also need a wand holster," Harry said as the tape flew over and began getting Carina's measurements.

"Arm or waist?" Ollivander asked.

"Waist I believe," Harry said thoughtfully.

"Very good. Here you are young man," Ollivander said, handing Ignotus a simple wand holster.

"Thank you," Ignotus said as he took the holster and clipped it on his belt.

"And now for you, young lady," Ollivanfer said as he pulled a wand from the shelf.

Harry patted Iggy on the back as he watched the tape stop its work as Carina reached to take hold of the wand.

"Oak nine inches with a unicorn hair," Ollivander said as Carina took the wand and waved it.

'BOOOOOOM!'

Everyone jumped as the door to the shop was thrown open with so much force that one of its hinges broke.

"No, I think not. Here, cherry and dragon heartstring eight inches," Ollivander said as he took the first wand and offered her another.

Carina caused a wave of magic that cracked the glass on the shop's windows.

"No, though it was closer than the first, here let's try this. Holly and dragon heartstring, ten inches," Ollivander said as he offered her a third wand.

Harry was no wand expert but even he could tell that Carina was a tricky customer. She also seemed to cause more destruction when using an incompatible wand than Ignotus.

It was after Ollivander had given her her fifteenth wand that it happened, the aged wandmaker offered her a wand that was almost sold black and curved slightly.

"Walnut, eleven inches with a phoenix feather core, nice and springy," Ollivander said as he offered Carina the wand.

As soon as Carina's hand touched the wand, the shop was filled with the unmistakable sound of phoenix song as a shower of gold and green sparks burst from the tip of her wand.

"Oh, very well done, that is a very strong match," Ollivander exclaimed as he boxed up the wand.

"That felt wonderful," Carina gushed as she accepted her wand and a holster from Ollivander.

"The bonding of a new wand is always a joyous experience," Ollivander said looking pleased.

"Thank you, sir," Carina said a wide smile playing on her lips as she accepted the box containing her new wand and a wand holster of her own.

"Think nothing of it, my dear. It is always wonderful to see one of my wands find its match," Ollivander said.

"Match?" Iggy asked looking confused.

"The wand chooses the wizard, young Mister Peverell," Ollivander said as he began to put the wands that were piled up on the chair, back onto the shelves.

"Oh," Iggy mumbled looking confused.

"I suppose this lads' a bit too young for a wand just yet," Ollivander said as he noticed Hardwin watching him from Bella's arms.

"Yes, he is. I can only imagine what mayhem a toddler with a wand could cause," Bellatrix said as she set Hardwin back into his stroller.

After this, Harry paid for two wands and two wand holsters before the family of five made their way back down the alley intent on visiting the ice cream parlour.

"Dad?" Iggy asked as they were making their way down the crowded street.

"Yes, son?" Harry asked.

"Thank you for my birthday present," Iggy said.

"Yes Daddy, thank you," Carina agreed giving him a bright smile.

"You're both welcome but the wands are not your birthday present," Harry chuckled.

"They're not?" the twins asked in unison.

"No, but you won't be able to enjoy your birthday present until August so I figured you should get something on your birthday," Harry explained as the alley turned to the left.

"Then what is our birthday present?" Carina exclaimed sounding very excited.

"We're going to watch the final of the quidditch World Cup," Bellatrix said matter-of-factly.

"You're joking?!" Iggy blurted out much louder than he meant to, causing people to turn and look in his direction.

"No, she's not. We're going to the World Cup final," Harry beamed as they arrived at the ice cream shop.

Harry was about bowled over when both children about tackled him in a three-way hug.

"But this means you two have to be on your best behaviour between now and then," Bellatrix said giving them both a meaningful look.

"Of course, Mother," Carina said, nodding her understanding.

"Yeah Mum, we'll be good, we promise," Iggy assured her and gave her a winning smile for good measure

"I don't believe a word of it," Bella sighed, rolling her eyes at the twins.

"No, I don't believe them either, Luv," Harry agreed as they arrived at the counter and began placing their order.

As the Peverells sat down a few moments later and they all dug into their respective ice cream sundaes, Harry couldn't help but feel very pleased with how the day was turning out.

There would be a birthday party this evening where the kids' friends could come over and celebrate the occasion but this is how they were celebrating it as a family, a trip to Florean's for ice cream.

The kids had both been matched with their wands and it was one less thing they would have to worry about when they did their school shopping. This also meant he could start teaching them the basics of defensive magic before they left for Hogwarts, which was something he'd been looking forward to.

Harry was very pleased that their big present was so well received, though he would have been concerned if it wasn't. He and Sirius had split the cost and rented a premium box for the World Cup final months ahead of time. Even with them splitting the cost, it had been insanely expensive but seeing the way his kids' eyes lit up, he knew that it was worth it ever sickle.

As Harry watched Bella feed Hardwin tiny bites of chocolate ice cream from her bowl, he couldn't help but feel that his life was perfect.

'Well... almost perfect,' Harry amended in his head as Iggy accidentally knocked his sundae onto the floor, covering his father's leg in ice cream and chocolate syrup.

Hogwarts Express, 6/21/1994, 14:36

Harry was sitting with Hannah in one of the smaller compartments for the ride home mostly because Draco and Susan were starting to get on his nerves lately.

The last few months had been a bit of a blur with classes, quidditch practice and spending most of his free time with Hannah, not that he was complaining.

Unfortunately, Gryffindor had just missed out on the quidditch cup. They had won their matches against Ravenclaw and Slytherin but they hadn't scored enough collective points to unseat Hufflepuff from the first-place spot. There was also the fact that Hufflepuff's star chaser had really stepped up her games this year and the puffs ended the season undefeated.

"You're not still pouting about losing the quidditch cup, are you?" Hannah teased, pulling him from his thoughts.

"How did you know that's what I was thinking about?" Harry asked meeting her gaze.

"It was just a hunch," Hannah said as she took his hand in hers.

"The bad thing is, we missed out on the cup by twenty bloody points," Harry sighed still feeling annoyed when he thought about it.

"Bad news for you but this was the first house cup we've won in twelve years," Hannah said, a smile playing on her lips.

"Well the cup will be ours again next year," Harry assured her.

"Depends on if we can replace all of our players that graduated this year," Hannah mused.

"Oh that's right, Heidi Macavoy won't be here next year," Harry said finding this to be very heartening news.

"No, this was her last year. She's already been recruited to play reserve chaser for the Tutshill Tornados," Hannah beamed.

"That means you can try out for her spot next year," Harry pointed out.

"Maybe," Hannah said, sounding unsure.

"You've got to at least try, you're a natural as a chaser," Harry said.

"We'll see. How long are you going to be grounded for?" Hannah asked, not so subtly changing the subject.

"Sirius never actually said," Harry shrugged.

"So I may not get to see you all summer?" Hannah asked sounding unhappy.

"If it were just Sirius, he'd probably let it go after a couple of weeks but Amelia won't let up," Harry said, sounding a bit put out.

"No, Susan says she has a long memory," Hannah said.

"Believe me, she does," Harry muttered as the compartment door opened and Hermione stepped in looking flustered.

"Sorry to interrupt you two but Daphne and Draco were arguing and it was impossible to read with them constantly snipping at each other," Hermione said as she took a seat across from the couple.

"You know what that's about?" Hannah asked with a sly grin.

"Yes, they like each other and they don't want to admit it so everyone else has to suffer," Hermione huffed.

"I thought Draco liked Susan," Harry mused.

"Well she's dating Terry Boot," Hannah shrugged.

"Terry Boot? I thought she was dating Justin?" Harry asked feeling a bit surprised to learn this

"They broke up just after Easter," Hannah said.

"Huh, that explains why she was in such a bad mood when we came back from break," Harry said a look of understanding crossing his features.

"So how are you two?" Hermione asked.

"Good, we were just talking about Harry being grounded all summer," Hannah said, shooting the boy a look of annoyance.

"For what happened at the New Year's Eve ball?" Hermione asked.

"Yeah, I'm pretty sure my summer is ruined because of that," Harry admitted.

"And mine too," Hannah said only half-jokingly.

"I bet Sirius will still let me go to the World Cup final," Harry said.

"World Cup?" Hermione asked.

"The Quidditch World Cup," Harry elaborated.

"Oh," Hermione said before pulling out her arithmancy book.

"I heard that you dropped out of divination," Harry said giving Germione a curious look.

"I did, the class was ridiculous," Hermione sniffed.

"I heard from Tracy that you also dropped muggle studies," Hannah questioned.

"Yes well, whoever sets the curriculum doesn't know a thing about muggles. You should have seen the lesson we had about dressing to blend in with muggles," Hermione said looking like she was fighting not to giggle.

"You should see purebloods trying to blend in with muggles sometimes," Hannah grinned.

"If it's anything like what the class advised wearing to blend in, they'd be less conspicuous wearing star-spangled robes and a pointed hat," Hermione said rolling her eyes.

The rest of the trip passed with the three of them chatting about the coming school year or how their classes had gone over the previous year. Truthfully Harry would have preferred a bit more alone time with Hannah but he wasn't upset Hermione had decided to join them.

Harry was already looking forward to the next school year but that was mostly so he could take another crack at winning the house quidditch cup. The closer they got to London, the more nervous Harry became.

He had returned to school after Christmas before Sirous and Amelia had really gotten over the incident at the New Year"s Eve party and he hoped they'd had some time to calm down. He knew it wouldn't matter as far as his punishment was concerned but he never liked it when they were upset with him.

When the train began to slow down as it pulled into the station, Harry readied himself for the chaos of the platform. just led Hanhah out of their compartment with Hermione trailing behind them. As Tgey stepped off of the train, Harry spotted Sirius, Amelia and Edgar standing with Narcissa Malfoy near the entrance to the muggle side of the train station. He took the fact that they all smiled when they saw him as a good sign. Giving Hannah a quick kiss and bidding farewell to Hermione, Harry made his way over to his family hoping he could talk Sirius into stopping by that pizza place before they went home for the evening.

Quidditch Trillenium Stadium, Dartmoor, 8/22/1994, 20:39

Harry and his close family and friends were seated in the same box he had watched this match in during his own timeline. The mascots were just about to begin their performance and the kids were all leaning against the railing literally trembling with excitement.

Besides the twins, his younger self was attending with the Blacks, Susan Bones was here with her parents, the Abbotts, The Malfoys, and the Greengrasses were also here as were Andromeda, Tonks, and Charlie. The box was packed and Harry Harry was wedged in between Bella and Andromeda with Hardwin squirming in his arms.

Everything in the stadium was suffused with a mysterious golden light, that illuminated the air over the pitch and cast them all in a pleasant golden glow. The field looked smooth as velvet from where they were seated and Harry could just make out the tunnel that led to the Irish changing team's rooms At either end of the field stood three goal hoops, fifty feet high. Directly across from their box was a massive billboard-sized chalkboard that kept flashing advertisements, looking as if an invisible hand was writing out the words before erasing them a few seconds later. Even as he watched, Harry saw the words 'Peverell Beauty Accessories, There's No Smoother Shave,' as they appeared written across the chalkboard in foot-high letters.

"I see that your business is expanding, Luv," Harry said as he turned to grin at Bellatrix.

"Oh yes, I may have bought ad space for the final match," Bellatrix said, her cheeks flushing pink.

"Speaking of your company, how is that new girl working out?" Andromeda asked.

"Very well, she is keeping up with orders better than I expected," Bellatrix said as the ad changed to one for 'Bertie-Bott's Every-Flavour Beans, A Risk With Every Mouthful!''

Bellatrix had taken his advice and given a young muggleborn girl a chance. Penelope Clearwater was one of Filius' star pupils and had a knack for enchanting. Penelope had impressed Bellatrix considerably during her interview and had started working the following day.

"GOOD EVENING LADIES AND GENTLEMEN!" Harry heard Ludo Bagman's magically magnified voice that sounded like it was coming from the box just below theirs.

"WELCOME TO THE FINAL MATCH OF THE FOUR HUNDRED AND TWENTY-SECOND QUIDDITCH WORLD CUP AND WE HAVE AN EXCITING MATCH FOR YOU, THIS EVENING! BEFORE WE INTRODUCE THE PLAYERS REPRESENTING THE BULGARIAN NATIONAL TEAM, PLEASE PUT YOUR HANDS TOGETHER AND WELCOME THE BULGARIAN NATIONAL TEAM'S MASCOTS!"

Harry couldn't help but smile as he saw the veela marching onto the pitch. The boys leaning against the suddenly froze as the veela began to sing in Bulgarian as they swayed their hips seductively.

"Bloody hell, they're going to cause a riot," Harry heard Sirius whisper to Jonathan Greengrass.

Harry was about to say something when he spotted little Harry trying to climb over the railing. Harry sighed and stood up before pulling the boy back before he fell to a hundred feet to pitch below them.

"H-huh... What happened?" Little Harry stammered out looking dazed.

"I believe you just fell victim to the song of the veela, lad," Jonathan said with a wide grin.

"That's really going to cost him later on," Sirius muttered to Harry as he saw Hannah giving Little Harry an annoyed look.

"There is a reason veela are called homewreckers," Andi said, looking amused.

"The veela aren't the problem, they only affect the weak-willed and hormonal teenage boys," Harry pointed out.

"Then it's a miracle that Sirius isn't a drooling mess right now," Bellatrix quipped.

Thankfully the veela stopped singing though the majority of the crowd did not share this opinion, the air was filled with thousands voicing their displeasure when the veela stopped dancing.

"NOW, PLEASE PUT YOUR HANDS TOGETHER FOR THE REPRESENTATIVES OF THE IRISH NATIONAL TEAM!" Bagman's voice boomed over the stadium.

Harry watched as a green and gold-coloured comet shot into the air before forming a gigantic shamrock composed of thousands of tiny leprechauns. Suddenly gold coins began to rain from the sky, showering the crowd in galleons.

"There's no point in trying to keep that son," Harry said as Ignotus scrambled to the floor and began picking up coins.

"It's gold, Dad," Ignotus protested.

"It's leprechaun gold, it'll just disappear in a few hours," Harry said as he spotted people in the stands below them pushing and shoving to get to the gold coins that continued to rain down on them.

"I think they are causing more trouble than the veela," Narcissa muttered as she used her onniocculars to watch two men having a fistfight in the Bulgarian section of the stands.

"Those two are really having it out," Sirius said as he used his own omnioculars to watch the fight.

"I'll deal with it," Smelia sighed as she touched her badge with the tip of her wand.

Harry was impressed at how quickly a pair of aurors showed up to break up the fight, he assumed Amelia had sent the order through her badge. Harry was pulled from his observations as the gold stopped falling and Ludo Bagman's voice once again sounded over the stadium.

"NOW WITHOUT FURTHER ADO, PLEASE WELCOME THE IRISH NATIONAL TEAM! I GIVE YOU, CONNOLLY! RYAN! TROY! MULLET! MORAN! QUIGLEY! AAAAAAND LYNCH!

Harry watched as each player shot into the air from the tunnel as their name was announced, looking like green blurs on their firebolts as they flew around the stadium to wave to the crowd. The roar of the crowd was deafening as the Irish team's supporters cheered for the players, some fans even reaching out to try and touch the players as they flew past.

"Those Firebolts are something else," Edward Bones yelled over the crowd.

"They are, I would love to have one," Little Harry gushed.

"Maybe one day, mate," Sirius grinned before smacking the boy good-naturedly on the back.

Harry couldn't help but smile as Moran flew by their box. She actually slowed down slightly and reached out to smack palms with each of the kids as she flew by, leaving the kids grinning from ear to ear as they watched the chaser flying off to join her teammates.

"Moran just gave me five," Carina gushed, looking completely starstruck.

"AND NOW INTRODUCING THEIR COMPETITORS, ALL THE WAY FROM BULGARIA, I GIVE YOU THE BULGARIAN NATIONAL QUIDDITCH TEAM! MAY I PRESENT DIMITROV! IVANOVA! LEVSKI! VOLKOV! VULCHANOV! ZOGRAF! AAAAND KRUM!

Once again the stands roared from the applause, this time coming from the Bulgarian side of the stands as the Bulgarian players shot into the air as their names were announced. Harry spotted Viktor Krum flying higher than his teammates. Just like the first time Harry had seen Krum fly, he couldn't help but admire the Bulgarian seeker's flying style. Harry had never seen anyone fly like that until Carina had come along. Krum moved through the air like a bird of prey riding the wind and if he couldn't see the broomstick, Harry would have been convinced he didn't need one.

"AND ALL THE WAY FROM EGYPT, OUR REFEREE FOR THE FINAL OF THE QUIDDITCH WORLD CUP, HASSAN MOSTAFA!

Bagman called out when the two teams touched down on the pitch and faced each other, and the crowd cheered even louder as both sides of the stadium cheered their approval.

Harry watched through his omnioculars as the same bald skinny wizard with an impressive moustache walked onto the field with a small rectangular wooden crate tucked under one arm and a broom slung over his other shoulder.

"AND WE'RE SECONDS AWAY FROM THE KICK-OFF LADIES AND GENTLEMEN, MUSTAFA IS HAVING A LAST-MINUTE WORD WITH THE TEAM CAPTAINS.

Harry tuned out Bagman's commentary as he watched the captains shake hands before the players and the referee mounted their brooms, the referee blew his whistle as he kicked the latch on the crate sending the bludgers and the snitch shooting into the air. Reaching into the crate, the referee blew the whistle a second time as he threw the quaffle straight into the air.

At the sound of the second whistle, all fourteen players shot into the air as they fought to take possession of the quaffle.

The match had begun.

Harry quickly realized that he should have put money on this game, it was playing out exactly as he remembered it from his timeline. Ireland was absolutely dominating the games from the very beginning and no matter how many dirty tricks the Bulgarian beaters pulled, it made no difference.

The kids were leaning over the railing screaming their approval as the Irish chasers scored again and again. The Irish chasers were quickly making it impossible for the Bulgarians to recover.

"The Irish are phenomenal today!" Bellatrix exclaimed as the Irish scored for the third time in just as many seconds.

"I know, the Bulgarians are never coming back from this," Harry called out as the seekers went into a steep dive, speeding towards the ground at eye-watering speed.

"It's a feint!" Little Harry exclaimed seconds before Krum pulled up and Lynch slammed into the pitch.

"That had to hurt!" Sirius exclaimed over the groaning of the crowd.

After this play became even more brutal as Mullet was fouled by the Bulgarian Keeper, and was awarded a penalty shot. This spurred the leprechauns to taunt the veela by forming a giant hand extending its middle finger in the sky, which made Sirius laugh so hard he nearly fell out of his seat.

Just like in the game Harry remembered, the veela took offence to the leprechauns taunting and transformed into their avian forms not long after this.

Things were just about to devolve into all-out war when the seekers went into another dive but this time it wasn't a feint. Though once again Lynch slammed painfully into the pitch and Krum managed to capture the snitch but he was too late to win the game. Ireland won by ten points, devastating the Bulgarian fans and the contingent of veela.

Unfortunately from where their box was positioned, they couldn't see the awards ceremony taking place in the ministry box one level below them so they began making their way as a group back to their campsite while the cup was being presented.

"That was amazing," Carina gushed when their group stepped out of the stadium into the cool night air.

"The Bulgarians were woefully outclassed," Jonathan mused as they began following the path outlined with green lanterns.

"I agree," Sam Abbott nodded.

"Are we staying here tonight, Dad?" Iggy asked.

"No, we're going home, Son," Harry said as he shifted Hardwin in his arms.

"Must be nice, I have to patrol the campground tonight," Tonks muttered.

"Tough luck, I hate dealing with drunks," Sirius beamed.

"Bet you wish you picked another career path," Bellatrix said, giving her niece a knowing smirk.

"Look on the upside, you may get to meet the players on your patrols," Andromeda pointed out as they stepped onto the field where a virtual city of tents was silhouetted in the moonlight.

"True," Tonks agreed.

"You can use our tent if you like," Harry offered.

"Thanks but I'll be leaving as soon as my shift is over," Tonls waves him off.

"Make sure you come by in the morning, Nymphadora. We have to go check out venues," Narcissa said as the group made their way to the campsite they had been using for the past two nights.

"I will be," Tonks promised.

After they had all packed up their respective tents the group made their way towards the place they had arrived by portkey the day before yesterday to apparate home. The group of teenagers were all walking in a group a little ahead of the adults while the Peverells took up the rear.

"I kind of wish I were staying for the Irish team's afterparty," Sirius said as he hung back to walk beside Harry.

"No thanks, I have to go over some of the new guidelines before term starts," Harry said, already looking forward to getting home and relaxing in his favourite chair.

They soon arrived at the apparition point and the families started apparating away one at a time, the Abbotts and Bones' going first followed by the Greengrasses.

Harry watched as Draco was side-along apparated away a second before Andromeda disappeared with a soft 'pop'.

"Alright you two, take hold," Sirius said as he offered Harry and Edgar his forearm.

"I'll take Hardwin if you'll get these two home," Bellatrix offered as Sirius, Harry, and Edgar disappeared with a loud 'pop.'

"Sure," Harry said and watched as his wife and youngest son disappeared before his eyes with barely a sound.

"Now there was just Charlie, Tonks and Amelia standing there with him and the twins.

"I'll see you three later," Harry said as he offered the twins his arm to take.

"Be careful Uncle Harry, and thanks for inviting us," Tonks beamed.

"Yes, thank you for the invitation," Charlie said sincerely.

"I'm not thanking you, I know how much you two spent to rent that box," Amelia teased.

"It was all Sirius' idea," Harry beamed as the kids took a firm grip on his forearm.

"He said it was your idea," Amelia huffed.

"Ready kids?" Harry asked.

At their nods, Harry turned on the spot and apparated them all home, feeling quite pleased with how the evening had gone. The match had been the same as he'd remembered it but he was fairly certain that the rest of the night would be going completely differently.
