chapter 25
25 – Lily’s Shady Plan – 6
The first class on Monday was a swordsmanship class with Cordelia.
“Let’s go together today.”
I asked, grabbing Cordelia as she was about to leave her classroom.
“What about Hestia?”
“He left a long time ago.”
Hestia refused my offer to take me to her classroom and ran to her classroom where she was going to class herself. Half of what she thought was that she didn’t want to bother me, and half of that she just wanted to go to the classroom and prepare in advance. I made up my mind to think so.
“Are you kicked?”
“We are on the opposite side of the classroom from Hestia, and there are many things to prepare for our class… Yes, it was tea.”
When she asked if it was tea, she tried to come up with an excuse, but decided to just admit it because she stared at me. It seems that it will look uglier for no reason to open my mouth more here.
“Ahahahaha. If you came to me because you were dumped by Hestia, that would be a bit strange.”
“Anyway, Lady Deneb has no one to go with unless it’s me. I don’t have any friends like you.”
It seemed like she was trying to bounce it, so I got a little angry and stuck the truth in her ear. Why are you pretending to be expensive when you have no one to go with except yourself?
“Who doesn’t have friends?!”
She screamed at my factual violence. No, I saw with my own eyes that you couldn’t talk to me or anyone else in class all last week, and I deny this. I admired her boldness.
“You don’t have to be shy. Like I said before, I don’t have any friends either.”
“I have friends! First of all, I am a woman and you are a man?!”
“What does gender have to do with substitute classes and friends?”
Actually, there is a very big correlation. Of course, the students in the basic swordsmanship class are all male students, except for a small number of female students. Even those very few female students are aspiring female knights who are very far from the daughters of noble families like Cordelia. Naturally, it is difficult for her to meet even acquaintances, let alone friends. I know, but I just wanted to play with you.
And Cordelia doesn’t have friends just because she’s in another class. Every time I see her, she is alone and there is no one to eat lunch with other than me and Hestia. The last time I had no choice but to eat with Seol-ah, I also ate alone in the student cafeteria. It is already fully understood that she is sick.
“Profit!”
She screamed in anger. It was a sound that shouldn’t have come out of the mouth of the duke’s daughter.
“So you’re not going with me?”
At my words, Cordelia shuddered at her and she didn’t answer and she started moving first. Here she really would get pissed off if left alone. What I have to do is to follow her behind and apologize appropriately while losing. The way she treats her is like the way she treats her younger cousin or her nephew. Even if you make fun of them, you need to lose at the right timing. Trying to win her over because of her excitement is not a very good option.
“I was kidding. Let go of your anger.”
“Hey!”
“Originally, the one who forgives first wins.”
“The person who begged for forgiveness said that?”
She followed and apologized for a while, and by the time she entered the classroom, she was able to let go of her anger. She returned to her usual cheerful demeanor, as if she hadn’t lost her temper. I don’t know what to say, but she’s a really easy woman.
“Does Lady Deneb not change her clothes?”
I asked as I headed for the locker room across from the classroom. For the swordsmanship class, it is necessary to change into training clothes in advance.
“I prepared in advance.”
“You mean ready?”
I tilted my head at her words. What do you mean by preparation? No matter how you look at it, she was still in her school uniform.
“Tada!”
“Oops! What are you doing?!”
Suddenly, Cordelia started doing a striptease. I was horrified to see her unbuttoning the buttons of her school uniform one by one and pulling her skirt down. She screamed and covered her eyes. I know that she is releasing her own inclinations that have been suppressed by her engagement to her crown prince, but this is a bit. She didn’t want to know that she had her exhibitionist tendencies.
“You shouldn’t be like this here! Why leave a normal changing room…?”
However, no matter how long I waited, the reaction around me was very quiet. Is everyone staring blankly in shock?
I peeked open one of her eyes to check her condition.
“Ahahahaha! What, did you really think I was going to take off here?”
Cordelia was already completely changed into her training clothes. She laughed very excitedly when she saw me panicking to the ends of her hair.
“Of course I wore it inside beforehand.”
She showed off her school uniform, which she had removed from her hoodie.
No, it’s not even a high school girl wearing a gym uniform underneath her uniform. Of course, judging by her age, she is a high school girl. I was dumbfounded and laughed hysterically.
“Aren’t you ashamed?”
“What is embarrassing? Did I show bare skin?”
Of course, I didn’t show bare skin, but still, isn’t there something like that? It’s not something I would say since I had just entered this body, but she didn’t seem too aware of her aristocracy.
“Any woman from an aristocratic family should be chaste and discreet….”
“aaa! I can not hear you! Are you a nerd?”
Unknowingly, her admonishment toward her jumped out. Cordelia, like her child, covered her ears and made noise, ignoring my words. Damn, I was a little shocked. Did my words sound like an old man? However, seeing her outgoing behavior, what should I do with my thoughts popping out without my knowledge. Even 21st-century Korean high school girls who wear gym uniforms under their school uniforms don’t take off their clothes like that in front of all the boys.
“It’s a kkondae. I said it with the thought of Lady Deneb.”
“I was like an old man. He said the same thing as the butler who always nags me.”
“I’m not an old schoolboy, you are too free-spirited!”
“Yes, the next kkondae.”
I rarely felt discouraged from arguing with her. What kind of duke’s daughter is more open-minded than modern earthlings? The mindset itself is completely different.
“And you, why do you open your eyes when you think I am naked?”
Cordelia put her hand on her waist and glared at me as if she had caught her case. But honestly, I really had no idea. Really proud without any shame. So I went out very boldly.
“I opened my eyes because I was really quiet without thinking about anything. But will you believe me?”
“Believe that?”
“Then just think as you like. Anyway, I can’t think of anything other than Hestia. Even Hestia will believe it.”
“It’s not fun. It’s cowardly to use your fiancé as your shield.”
Cordelia looks disappointed when I appear too calm. What the hell were you looking for?
“Funny. What kind of reaction did you want? And it’s not a shield, it’s true.”
“You screaming absolutely no in embarrassment? Then Hestia would have stabbed her right away. Rather, I have nothing to say because I am proud.”
Cordelia seems to have lost interest in my reaction. Not a kid No, in fact, she sometimes wonders if she’s just her boyfriend when you’re talking to her.
I decided to take this opportunity to ask Hestia about the romance novels and female knights I had heard about earlier in the morning. To be honest, I was still concerned.
“Ah, come to think of it, does Lady Deneb like romance novels too?”
Cordelia hesitated at my sudden question. Her neck moves slowly toward me. It sounds like you can hear the sound effect of giggling giggling giggling.
“Ro, Ro, Romance Novels? Why all of a sudden?”
She looks visibly flustered. She stutters to the end. Just like Hestia said, something is certain.
“I was talking about romance novels with Hestia earlier in the morning. I asked if Lady Deneb likes novels like that.”
“I don’t really like that….”
It’s a lie. A reddened face, an averting gaze, and squirming fingers. I’ve felt it before, but she’s surprisingly incompetent at lying. I’m pretty sure she likes romance novels. I decided to dig a little deeper here.
“Sorry.”
“What?”
“If you are familiar with such novels, I was going to ask for a recommendation. Hestia seems to like it too, so I thought of reading it together.”
At my words, Cordelia’s eyes began to spin. She’s probably going through a lot of inner conflict. One of the questions that can elicit the most intense reaction from people who like something from ancient times is the question of what is the best thing to start with for beginners. The twitching of the corners of the mouth is very itchy.
“Then I will have to ask someone else.”
“No!”
“Why is that?”
Cordelia shouted in a very desperate voice. Laughter leaked out without my knowledge, and I had to work hard to manage my expression.
“I, I will teach you!”
“But didn’t you say that Lady Deneb doesn’t like romance novels very much?”
I looked at her and made her look as questioning as possible.
“But, still, I will teach you.”
Cordelia said, breaking out in a cold sweat. She seems to be hesitant to see if she is not confident. It’s completely different from her usual confident attitude. How serious are you in romance novels?
“Jeong Then, I understand. After all, I had no one to ask other than Lady Deneb or Hestia.”
“Okay! Then after a while, follow me to the dormitory after the ceremony. I’ll lend you some.”
I accepted her offer as if I couldn’t help it. Her face noticeably brightens at my answer. Saying that she doesn’t like romance novels very much, she decided not to point out that there were several books to borrow in the dormitory.
“Can you tell me what it is about?”
I asked a question out of pure curiosity. I wondered what kind of novel would a person who is serious about romance novels proudly recommend to beginners.
“It’s complicated to explain…. Something about a female knight overcoming all kinds of persecution and trials and falling in love with another knight? Better to see for yourself!”
She explained the contents with an ecstatic expression, as if she was shaking just thinking about it. Maybe it’s because her favorite story came out, so the tension is better than usual.
“You mean here?”
“Yes. Here!”
“Are the female knights out there good at swordsmanship, good at sports, and good at talking?”
“It’s a knight, isn’t it?”
I found it. The cause of his suspiciously strong obsession with female knights and physical activities.
I felt the scattered puzzle pieces fit together.
The admiration for the female knight shown in the morning, the hint that it was Hestia’s romance novel, the reason why I liked moving my body in the first place.
She longs for the heroine of her favorite romance novel.
For that reason, he took swordsmanship lessons, exercised at dawn, and even decided on a club. Unknowingly, I looked at Cordelia with warm eyes.
“Why do you look like that?”
“No. Please continue to do so.”
“… ?”
Seeing that she was immersed in the main character of a novel she enjoyed reading and living so diligently, somehow, her heart felt very warm. I feel like I’ve seen something really clean and pure.
“Why do you look like that?!”
I kept staring at her like that until after a while she gave her tantrum why she was staring at me like that.
