I’m the Sub Male Lead in Romance Fantasy, but I Don’t Like the Female Lead

chapter 11

11 – To the Academy

The classroom was already full while I and Hestia had a brief conversation. I scanned the classroom for any familiar faces.

“Oh, nice to meet you again.”

“Eh.”

I met Lily’s eyes. Unknowingly, a strange sound came out of my mouth. She got up from her seat and came over to me. Wilhelm, who was sitting next to her, seemed to be ignoring me.

“Yesterday, um, something unpleasant happened, so I guess I didn’t get to say hello properly.”

With that, Lily glanced sideways in Cordelia’s direction. I don’t know what the hell you mean by making me think of yesterday. Could it be that Cordelia didn’t say anything? I was speechless at her confident demeanor.

“I don’t know what you heard yesterday, but I’m interested in Grand Duke Mikhail?”

As if he knew everything about what I was thinking, he once again brought up yesterday’s events.

“Lady Adamas, I am not very interested.”

“Maybe soon.”

Lily smiled at me. The destructive power is amazing. She even thinks that if I didn’t have Hestia, she wouldn’t have passed on honestly. I feel my heart beating thump.

It is a strange feeling that is difficult to describe when the head and the heart are playing separately. Obviously I did nothing wrong, but I feel guilty towards Hestia. She came just a few minutes ago and confessed that she likes her.

“Excuse me, Lady Adamas, but I have a fiancé.”

Hestia, who was listening beside her, jumped out at the same time as I gave her a polite refusal.

“Keuheum, Lady Adamas? Do you have any business with ‘my’ Mikhail?”

You just emphasized that I was yours, right? Hestia’s face turned red. Her face blushed as if she was ashamed of such a comment, but her attitude is confident. She’s cute because she seems to be a little more candid than before.

“Oh, you two. They seemed to be fighting in the hallway earlier. When did you reconcile?”

“Lady Adamas. We never fought.”

I politely responded to her words once again. Please don’t ignore my signals that you don’t want to get involved privately.

“I thought you were fighting because Lady Gracia’s face wasn’t very good.”

She took a step closer to me. It’s still close, but sticking closer.

“Too close.”

I also took a step back in line with that.

“I don’t know why someone who has a lover is so willing to ask for another man.”

Unable to see this, Hestia intervened from her side and coldly shot at her.

“A lover?”

“Everyone saw me up close with His Highness the Crown Prince yesterday. Are you going to deny it?”

Hestia said in a low voice to her Lily, as if Wilhelm had decided that it was not a good story to hear. She was probably unheard of by other students.

“Ah, there must have been a misunderstanding. Of course, it’s true that I’m close to Her Highness Wilhelm, but aren’t we in a romantic relationship yet?”

Lily replied with a smile at Hestia’s words. She did not lower her voice, as if she had no intention of hiding it. Poor Wilhelm. Weren’t you even dating? Judging from her attitude, she seems to have really swollen liver. She seems to be fishing for the prince.

I glanced at Wilhelm, and he was glaring at me like he was going to kill me. I understand. How does it feel for a flirtatious woman to ask another man to be her friend, saying that she is not yet a lover? It saddens me to think like this. Does he know that he is a fish trapped in a fish cage?

“Don’t get me wrong. I don’t have the hobby of clinging to a man with a lover. It just means to be friends. Isn’t that right, Grand Duke Mikhail?”

Lily said. She honestly doesn’t even want to be friends. What does she like and when does she date a sneaky lady friend who may fall in love against my will? Even with such a pretty fiancé.

But I can’t say these words in front of everyone staring at me. Because both she and I have something called her face. If she says no here, I’ll look like a weirdo.

“Or maybe she is not confident?”

Lily bent her upper body towards Hestia and said in a low voice. I could hear it, but the students sitting in my seat probably couldn’t hear it.

Hestia blushes her face. She’s very angry, but she can’t seem to find the words to say. I gently held Hestia’s hand.

“Grand Duke Mikhail?”

“If that’s the case, that’s fine.”

She reluctantly agreed to her urging question. I couldn’t answer that I didn’t want to be friends with you without a special reason in front of the whole class.

“Okay. Then, um, since we are students at the same academy anyway, is it okay if I call you Mikhail?”

“You can do whatever you want. But I’m more comfortable with Lady Adamas, so I’ll continue to call her that.”

“Be firm.”

I did not hesitate to answer that question and went to my seat with Hestia. Hestia puffed out her cheeks as if in a bad mood. I soothed her with her whispers.

“I’m sorry. Still, I couldn’t refuse to be friends with half the people in front of me.”

“I know. I know… Uhh… But I can’t help but hate it.”

I couldn’t answer her words and just held her hand tighter. To be honest, I think if Wilhelm came and asked Hestia to be friends and she accepted, she would feel bad. Even more so when you openly hear such a provocative comment. I’m more sorry when you think like this.

“Then, should we go and just stop being friends now?”

If Hestia wants to, she is willing to come and say that even now. After she graduates anyway, she’s not the people I’ll see again, and she’s the most important thing to me right now.

“Ha… No. You don’t have to.”

“I’ll do really well.”

“Show me with your actions.”

Hestia sighed. Before we left, she returned to the seat next to Cordelia.

“Why did that woman say she could let go, but I can’t?”

As soon as she sat down in her seat, Cordelia asked curtly.

“Honestly, I didn’t want to give permission to Lady Adamas either. I couldn’t say no in front of everyone, so I just told you to do whatever you want.”

“Then, if I ask if I can call you Mikhail out loud after I get up from here, will you give me permission?”

“I understand, so please bear with me.”

“Okay, Mikhail.”

It must have been quite annoying that she drew the line yesterday saying not to let go of words and then allowed Lily to let go of words.

“Do you like it?”

“No, Hestia. Why are you doing this to me.”

“I said I like you just 5 minutes ago and then I talked to other girls, is it good?”

Hearing my conversation with Cordelia, Hestia thrust her head into my ear. She whispered in a cold voice. She was in a good mood until now, but why is she like this? This is all because of the insidious b*tch that I don’t know what’s inside.

“Please, you know it can’t be helped.”

Hearing my pleading words, Hestia pulled her hair out. Then he laughed out loud.

“Just kidding. I don’t get pissed off or anything like this. It’s a little upsetting though. More than that, there are times when Mikhail also makes this kind of expression.”

“I’ve never seen you joke like this before.”

“You will hear it often from now on.”

“I hope you refrain from making jokes like this.”

“I will consider it. Also, I was really a little upset that I decided to be friends with Lady Adamas earlier.”

“No, that’s… Sorry.”

I didn’t even think to reply, so I just apologized.

“Nice to meet you. I am Professor Viktor von Armus, who will be in charge of your life guidance for the next year.”

After talking with Hestia for a while, a very strict-looking man entered the classroom. Not a single hair is visible from the parted hair, and not a single wrinkle is visible in the suit he is wearing. He has the impression that even if he is pricked with a needle, not a single drop of blood will come out.

He explained his life at the academy immediately after a brief self-introduction.

“Although I am your advisor, I will not teach you directly. The relationship between politics and administration that I teach is not a subject for first-year students. Instead, I will be in charge of ordinances and ordinances, and as I said before, life guidance.”

According to his explanation, we come to class in the morning, complete our attendance and bylaws, and each take our assigned classes. As long as you abide by the school rules, no matter what you do, don’t interfere.

“After class, you can follow the control of each dormitory supervisor, not us.”

The rules of the dormitory were also very lax, so there were no restrictions unless it was an unauthorized overnight stay. You can even stay out if you tell the supervisor in advance. I didn’t know what would happen in the next 4 years, so I asked right away on the first day of moving in. Even if it’s a little sneaky, what does it matter if you don’t get noticed. I am honest with my desires.

“From Monday to Thursday, you can take classes you have applied for, and on Friday, you can focus on club activities. The club application is until next week.”

It is a bizarre timetable in many ways. On Mondays, Wednesdays, Tuesdays and Thursdays, students take their own classes. 1St period to 4th period. 1 Hour and 30 minutes of class followed by a 15 minute break. The first class starts at 9:00 and the morning class ends at 12:15. Lunch time is from 12:30 to 1:30. In reality, we have a 1 hour and 15 minute lunch break plus a 15 minute break. Afternoon classes start at 1:30 and dismissal is at 5:00. On Friday, the whole day is dedicated to each club activity.

Participating in clubs is a must. Everyone has to sign up for one. If there is no club you want to join, you can just have your own study time under the name of a self-study club. I’ve never been in a club activity before, so I’m looking forward to it a little.

“Hestia, why the hell do you need half of this?”

During the break after her teacher’s explanation, I listened to her teacher’s explanation and asked her what she had been curious about since the beginning. If she chooses and takes classes anyway, is there any reason for her to have two separate classes like in high school? We are adults according to the laws of this world. There is no need to control the homeroom in this way.

“What are you talking about? Isn’t that what you need?”

“Then why? Isn’t it just enough to go to each class?”

“…?”

Hestia tilted her head. She doesn’t mesh with her and her conversations. I stopped asking her of her. She looks like she doesn’t really understand my question. In the end, does this mean that the characters in the story do not recognize the point of setting?

Seeing as she doesn’t even understand her question, it’s probably not because there’s a really good reason. Wouldn’t it be a kind of deterrence similar to the correction of my memory or my body’s reaction to Lily?

Putting the half apart is simply because it’s easier to develop this way when setting up this world view. The main character has to choose the class he wants to take, so he chooses and attends the lecture like a university, but he must have made it like a high school because he has to actively participate in school events as a class.

“No, just pretend you didn’t hear.”

I glossed over. Hestia still doesn’t understand what she’s talking about. I feel a bit bitter about something. It gets into her skin that she and I are from different worlds.

I got up from my seat. It is 8:45. Now it’s time to go to your own classroom. Me and she all take different subjects except one for her couple’s understanding.

“If I had known it would be like this, I would have insisted on taking a few more courses together.”

“Don’t think of playing with me, just study hard.”

“Okay, see you later.”

The couple’s understanding is Monday and Wednesday, 2nd period. A little sad, but she said hello to her and headed to her first class, Basic Swordsmanship I Class. Oh, but if you sweat, you will smell it. I don’t know if I can wash it roughly in 15 minutes.
