Chapter 95
Chapter 95
Lily hastily ripped the gauze off her arm. As her smooth skin became visible, her face turned pale with shock.
“What… What is this…?”
She brushed her palm over where the wound used to be. All she felt was smooth skin. It felt like the wound had just been a dream.
‘Wow, now I can both attack and heal at the same time? This is totally… an OP ability, isn’t it?’
Lian looked down at his left hand and grinned happily.
‘Ah! With this ability…!’
His gaze shifted from his hand to Pia, who was lying flat on the floor.
‘Maybe Pia’s condition will get better too?’
Lian brought his left hand over Pia’s head and concentrated his energy.
WHOOSH!
Once again, bright light burst forth from his hand. Unlike with Lily, the white light started flowing endlessly into Pia’s body. He had no clue how much power it would take to pull her out of her weird state.
“Uhhh…!”
Pia let out a strange moan and started to tremble. Soon, she lost her posture and collapsed to the floor, twitching like a fish out of water.
‘Is this okay…?’
Despite his concerns, since she wasn’t screaming, he pushed more divine power into her. Pia quivered, gasping for breath. How long had it been?
WHOOSH!
Pia’s left hand began shining brightly. The same white vine-like pattern that appeared on Lian’s hand showed up on hers too.
However, it wasn’t large enough to cover her entire hand.
“Huh? Is this moving from me to her or something?”
Confused, Lian muttered and pulled back his divine power. The light on Pia’s hand slowly began to fade as well.
“Hah, haah…”
Pia lay on the floor, trembling as if she had just been zapped. She looked dazed.
“Pia, are you okay?”
Lian cautiously reached out a hand to Pia. Her eyes lazily rolled around, finally landing on him. There was a heavy emotion flickering in her gaze that felt way too intense to handle.
“Ah…”
Pia let out a small, shaky voice overflowing with emotion and clumsily got upright. Then, she knelt down again, palms together, bowing her head like a total worshipper.
“Thank you for choosing me! I’ll proudly spread Lian-nim’s will and glory all over the world!”
Lian was left utterly speechless, unsure how to respond to her mysterious declaration. He looked over to Lily for support.
“Lily, do you have any clue why Pia is acting like this?”
Still chuckling awkwardly, he turned to Lily, only to be grabbed by the shoulder.
Lily’s face was a jumble of worry and confusion. Since she was into healing, she immediately recognized how outrageous and dangerous this whole situation was.
Countless dark sorcerers roamed the Demon King’s land, and their magic always required a price that matched the power they used. Though Lian’s power didn’t look like dark magic, it was hard to believe he could wield such power without paying a price.
“Oppa, are you hurt anywhere? Are you alright?”
“Huh? Yeah, I’m fine.”
It was only natural for Lily to fidget and check Lian’s condition. But he couldn’t figure out why she was so panicked, causing him to roll his eyes in confusion.
Like a grandma checking on her beloved grandkid, Lily thoroughly inspected every inch of him, and only after ensuring there were no cuts or oddities did she breathe a sigh of relief.
“Ha… You’re sure you’re really okay? No headaches? You didn’t leech off your lifespan to heal, right?”
“Um, I’m not sure, but it doesn’t seem like I’m using that kind of power.”
Just like how breathing is second nature, Lian instinctively knew how to use this power. He had also picked up on the hidden cost but wasn’t about to spill the beans.
‘If they figure it out, they might stop me from using it!’
With his new skill, he could heal any wound like it was nothing but had to absorb the injury into his own body. As time passed, the wounds would gradually vanish.
This ability meshed with his original gag filter, speeding up the healing process even more.
Lian had transferred Lily’s wound to himself. Lily didn’t catch on because he could choose where to place the wound.
He had gone for his upper thigh, a hot spot that was unlikely to be checked by Lily. Plus, he had some underwear and pockets down there to slow the bleeding. However, it was just a matter of time before someone discovered it.
If he left it, his pants would soon be a crimson disaster.
“Should we take care of Pia first? She’s been acting strange for a while now…”
“Ah!”
Hearing Lian’s words jerked Lily back to reality, and she remembered Pia’s state. She immediately reached for Pia, and Lian sighed in relief.
‘I better slip out of here first.’
With that thought, he began to sneak away. Lily helped Pia sit up, asking, “Are you okay, sis?” but Pia just mumbled nonsense, looking totally spaced out.
“Hey, Lily! I really need to use the bathroom. Can you take care of Pia and get her lying down on the bed?”
“Leave it to me!”
Thanks to Lily’s thoughtfulness, Lian was able to hide the wound on his thigh. The bathroom and toilet were right next to each other, the cabinet in front held spare clothing and towels.
Lian secretly snagged a towel, pants, and underwear before sneaking into the bathroom.
Click.
Carefully shutting the door, he took off his pants, revealing his blood-soaked thigh.
“Wow… This is really OP.”
He marveled at the sight of his thigh, already healed and only stained with blood. A terrifying ability for residents of a dark fantasy world, but to Lian, a Gag World resident, it was just plain broken.
‘If I attack with Gargandoa and heal my team with this power… hmm, that could come in handy!’
With a satisfied grin, he started hand-washing the bloodied clothes. Since blood stains usually come out best in cold water, he opted for icy water.
Gratefully, because it hadn’t been long since the blood had soaked in, scrubbing in cold water quickly got rid of every trace. After washing his thigh clean, he even used soap, fearing any smell would betray him.
Lian dried off with the towel, slipped on fresh underwear and pants, and tossed the wet clothes into the laundry basket outside the bathroom before heading back to the room.
Lily was checking on Pia, who was still looking out of it on the bed. Concerned, Lian approached her, seeing Lily’s bemused expression.
“How’s Pia doing?”
“Umm… She looks fine on the surface, no signs of magic.”
Lily replied as she glanced at the magical tool in her hand, which she had used to check on Lian’s health earlier.
“I think I need to check her with other magical tools.”
“I hope it’s nothing serious.”
“By the way… where’s the shackle that was on your ankle?”
“Oh.”
The powerful new ability had nearly made him forget about the shackle. As Lian hesitated and stepped back, an anxious look spread across Lily’s face as she chuckled awkwardly.
“I heard from Iris that you’re strong, but breaking a shackle? That was unexpected.”
“Ha ha… should I put it back on?”
Lian said cautiously, eyeing her reaction, which made Lily sigh softly.
“With chaos reigning outside, I honestly wish I could keep you locked up.”
Lily met Lian’s pitiful gaze with her own.
“But that would be quite selfish on our part.”
“Huh? Selfish?”
Lian thought being locked up in a room was halfway to punishment, so he didn’t grasp what Lily meant by ‘selfish.’
Lily sighed deeply, feeling like she was reaching her breaking point with her innocent brother.
‘If we let him loose, he’ll probably just end up getting scammed again…’
To Lily, Lian looked more like a disaster waiting to happen than anything else, yet he came off as naive and innocent.
“I won’t make you wear the shackle again, so don’t worry, oppa.”
“Ahh… thanks!”
Lily swallowed the words, ‘But if Noah finds out, you’d probably be shackled again,’ and beamed back at Lian as he looked relieved.
Afterward, Lily grabbed other magical tools to inspect Pia’s condition while Lian started assisting the busy kids at the main building.
At first, they panicked and tried to send him back to his room, but after witnessing him heal one injured person after another, they reluctantly decided to let him stay. To put it more accurately—
They figured that Noah would eventually drag him back, one way or another.
By the time the sun started to set, Pia had fully recovered and stood up from the bed.
“Are you really alright, sis?”
“Ah, yes. Sorry. I was just too excited to see Lian-nim!”
“Lian-nim…? You mean Lian oppa?”
Pia didn’t respond to Lily’s question, instead staring happily at the pattern on her hand. Seeing her in good shape, Lily let out a breath of relief.
‘I need to figure out what that pattern on her hand signifies…’
Buzz.
While glancing at the pattern on Pia’s hand, Lily heard the vibration of the communication device and pulled it from her pocket.
‘Right now, I’m too busy for this. Since it doesn’t look like there’s any immediate issues, I’ll tackle the urgent matters first.’
Lily rushed out of the room with Pia to address the backlog of work. Pia began to assist with tasks at the main building to follow Lian’s lead.
As the hectic day unfolded and it came time for dinner, chaos erupted in the dining hall.
