I'm Really Not A Nen Exorcist (HxH Fanfic)

Chapter 450: Chapter 450 Sudden Reward

'Really not a Nen Exorcist?'

There was no way Ging would easily accept Moses's claim.

Even though Ging hadn't personally seen Moses perform an exorcism, the information he gathered through investigations is not fake.

Without a doubt, Moses was a Nen Exorcist, and his Nen Exorcist Ability is incredibly powerful.

Ging could actually understand why Moses didn't might not want to draw too much attention, but there was no need to directly deny his Nen Exorcist Ability, right?

'Could it be...'

Ging suddenly thought of his own profession.

As a Ruins Hunter, due to the nature of his job, he work, he frequently had to deal with Post-Mortem Nen. So having another Nen Exorcist on hand was always a beneficial thing, never a drawback.

Besides, who would complain about having too many coolies?

(A disheveled man, who was being exploited for labor on Greed Island, suddenly sneezed several times.)

So Ging naturally thought of a possible explanation.

'Could it be... he foresaw that I might frequently ask him to exorcise in the future, so he...'

Ging raised his eyebrows slightly and looked at the figure standing amidst the scattered bone dust.

It was a possibility.

But if Moses really had such foresight, then Ging would be impressed.

Moses could feel Ging's gaze constantly on his back, but he had no time to pay attention to him at the moment. He lifted his eyes to look at the bone dust scattered by the [All Extinct]'s Momentum, with surprise flashing in his eyes.

It was not because the Post-Mortem Nen had been easily defeated by All Extinct, but rather that Perception had just rewarded him.

[You have dispelled the resentment of thousands of slaves with your Aura. Perception is impressed. Your Nen Exorcism chance +1.]

Just now, he had consecutively taken down three core members of the Erimo Bandit Group, one of whom was even the leader of the group, but he hadn't received any rewards from Perception.

Now, by effortlessly using his All Extinct's Momentum to destroy the bone sphere controlled by the Post-Mortem Nen, he received a reward instead.

Moses was deeply surprised.

After all, comparing the two, it is definitely more difficult to get rid of the three members of the Erimo Bandit Group, while using All Extinct's Momentum to shatter the Post-Mortem Nen is as easy as drinking a glass of water.

'Could it be that the sight of the huge bone sphere turning into dust in an instant shocked the people around?'

Moses shook his head slightly, uncertain of the reason.

But regardless of when or why Perception decided to give out a reward, Moses was the beneficiary, so it didn't matter either way.

'The resentment of thousands of slaves...'

Watching as the bone dust, once the bone sphere, was washed away by the torrential rain, Moses pondered the reason Perception had given for the reward.

'It seemed that the large number of bones emerging from the tomb were the remains of the thousands of slaves who had been buried alive in the distant past.'

'That was why such a strong Post-Mortem Nen had emerged from within the tomb.'

'But even the resentment left behind after death still retains the instinct of 'fear'?'

'When alive, they were afraid of their master's capricious control over life and death.'

'After death, their lingering resentment is most afraid of killing intent that could crush them as easily as squashing an ant.'

'The Momentum of All Extinct was fueled by killing intent.'

'Thus, this Post-Mortem Nen was burned in the fire called killing intent.'

Now that he has roughly figured out the reason, Moses could now explain why the Momentum of All Extinct, which is clearly not a Nen Exorcism Ability, can still obliterate the Post-Mortem Nen in an instant.

'With the Nen Exorcism chance that I saved before, I now have two chances. I suddenly feel like I have a lot of money on hand.'

Reflecting on this, Moses suddenly felt that maybe there was no need to emphasize to Ging that he was not a Nen Exorcist.

'But now that it had been said, it was actually for the best.'

'By planting the metaphorical 'nothing to see here' sign in advance, I could at least avoid being bombarded by people seeking me out for exorcisms.'

'Especially Ging...'

'Who knows if that guy will come to me frequently for exorcisms in the future?'

'By then, I would only have a few Nen Exorcism chance, so how could I afford to satisfy those who asked for help, including Ging?'

'Which means, in terms of reputation, it's better to stick with being known primarily as a Blacklist Hunter.'

'If there is a need for a Triple Star title in the future, it will not be too late to focus on the identity of a Nen Exorcist at that time.'

After calming down his thoughts for a moment, Moses slowly turned around and looked at Ging. Without mentioning the use of Aura filled with killing intent to annihilate the Post-Mortem Nen, he smiled and brought up their earlier plan to drink together.

"Ging, have you decided where we're going for drinks?"

"Of course."

Ging quickly suppressed the emotions in his eyes, and didn't press Moses on the peculiar, intense killing intent he had displayed earlier. Instead, he asked Moses in a negotiating tone: "But before we head out, could you wait for me for a day?"

"No problem."

Moses agreed without hesitation.

Even though Ging hadn't explicitly explained why he needed an extra day, it was easy for Moses to guess the reason.

'Ging must have wanted to explore the tomb that was being excavated.'

If Ging ignored this tomb, Moses would have to suspect that Ging had been possessed.

'Hasn't that Muscular Barbie dealt with the Erimo Bandit Group's Manipulator yet?'

With everything seemingly concluded, Moses suddenly looked towards a certain direction of the military camp and could still hear the deafening explosion.

That was the sound of tank bombardment.

This means that Ida, the female officer who had volunteered to deal with the Erimo Bandit Group's Manipulator, has not been able to resolve the situation until now.

Ging followed the direction Moses was looking and of course could hear frequent explosions.

"I'll go take a look."

To avoid keeping Moses waiting too long, Ging threw out that remark and promptly dashed toward the chaos.

The sooner he dealt with the enemies attacking the camp, the sooner he could head to the tomb.

And after visiting the tomb, he could immediately take Moses to the tavern he'd already chosen for their drinks.

Moses watched Ging's receding back, and wondered whether Luluci Country would take the initiative to give them a reward for their help.

"Mr. Spider Slayer..."

At this moment, Heram's voice, full of solemnity and gratitude, came from behind:

"Thank you for your assistance. From now on, you will always be a friend of Luluci Country."

"It's nothing."

Moses turned around and looked at Heram, who came over to thank him. His eyes swept across the eleven golden rings on Heram's neck that looked uncomfortable at first glance, and then he glanced at Satotz and Quinn, who were following behind Heram.

The two Nen Users were staring at Moyu closely, not hiding their admiration at all.

Whether it was the overwhelming power Moses displayed during battle or his effortless eradication of the Post-Mortem Nen, both had raised Moses's status significantly in Satotz and Quinn's eyes.

Moses just glanced at Satotz and Quinn for a moment before shifting his focus back to Heram. He then raised his hand and pointed at Miro's body lying on the ground nearby.

"I'm a professional Blacklist Hunter. If possible, could you help me report the successful hunt of three members of the Erimo Bandit Group?"

"You're too modest."

Heram replied solemnly: "We will ensure that this matter is processed as quickly as possible."

"That's good to hear."

Moses nodded.

With Luluci Country stepping in, the process of confirming the bounty achievements would surely be swift.

Combined with the achievements he'd accumulated previously, it should be enough to earn the Single Star title.

If everything goes smoothly-

Moses will be the youngest Single Star Pro Hunter in history!
