I'M IN MARVEL

Chapter 35: CHAPTER 35

C35 : Mage Iron Man VS Mecha

Hammer Industries, a parody of Stark Industries;

Justin Hammer, a parody of Tony Stark.

At this point, Hammer was making a grandiose speech in the Hammer Industrial Exhibition Hall at the Expo.

"Ladies and gentlemen, for too long, our brave warriors have been sent into battle, risking their lives. When Iron Man appeared, we hoped no more lives would be lost. But now, there's a new force in the U.S. military—the Hammer Steel Soldiers!"

The crowd erupted into applause as rows of mechanized soldiers ascended from the lifting platforms.

Elsewhere, Ivan Vanko, who had been distracted by his phone, saw a transmission from the Iron Soldier. He raised his head, handed the phone to Dr. Pym, and grinned.

"Dr. Pym, the opportunity has arrived."

Dr. Pym, confused, frowned. "Opportunity?"

Ivan smiled again. "The opportunity to strike."

The expo was a battlefield as Iron Man struggled to combat the Hammer Steel Soldiers. Amidst the chaos, he used his energy shield to block attacks and precision-targeted the energy reactors in the Iron Soldiers' chests with his mechanical energy cannon.

"I heard a lot of people are attending this expo," Ivan muttered, half-smiling.

"Tell me, Tony Stark, do you want to protect them... or yourself?"

Ivan then glanced toward the towering "Whipstring Mecha."

"If you want to defeat Tony Stark, it can't be done with just those suits. You need something more."

Before anyone could react, the whipcord mecha, which had been around five meters tall, expanded rapidly with the help of Pym particles, reaching an imposing 120 meters.

"Let's go, Pim…"

Suddenly, a weak explosion rang out from Ivan Vanko's chest. He stumbled backward, blood spilling from his seven orifices as he collapsed.

"I'm sorry, Ivan Vanko. I don't believe you would have spared Tony Stark if you had the chance to kill him."

Dr. Pym, with a cold glance at Ivan's lifeless body, headed straight for the cockpit of the now-massive Whipstring Mecha. His many visits to Ivan were not without purpose. He was more than capable of piloting the mecha on his own.

With a massive roar and gusts of wind, the Pym mecha lifted off, soaring toward the Expo.

Russell, who had been observing the chaos from a distance, grinned as he saw the mecha approach.

"120 meters?" he mused. "This is going to be fun."

Russell's actions were not those of a mere bystander. While he didn't rush into the fray like a "cat crying like a mouse," pretending to be virtuous while others caused destruction, he was strategic. He could peer into souls, distinguishing good from evil.

Those who deserved to live would survive in his presence—no matter what, even Mephisto couldn't change that, as Tony could attest.

Though he couldn't protect both the enemy's hero and his own adversary, Russell wasn't American—so why should he care?

Under his guidance, despite the destruction around them, casualties were minimal.

Crack!

A sonic boom split the air as the Pym mecha landed a surprise punch on Iron Man, sending him crashing to the ground.

While Tony might have been expecting missiles or energy blasts from Ivan, Dr. Pym was more focused. His aim wasn't to kill Tony outright.

Boom!

Iron Man slammed into the ground but was quick enough to activate a portal to the sky, cushioning his fall and reducing the damage to his suit.

Turning his head, Tony couldn't help but stare at the towering mecha. "Pym particles?"

"Jarvis, scan that mecha. Find its energy core or cockpit."

"Understood, sir."

Despite the overwhelming power of the mecha, Tony knew direct confrontation was not the key. He had to avoid face-to-face battle, relying instead on his portal tech.

Inside the mecha, Dr. Pym was growing increasingly agitated. His mecha's strength, speed, size, and firepower outmatched Tony's suit, but Tony's portal tech was a significant threat.

Several times, Tony had used his portals to slice parts of the mecha off, though it was fortunate the mecha's size and backup circuits kept it functional.

Dr. Pym's proficiency was lacking, though. His ability to pilot the mecha was nowhere near Ivan Vanko's.

Had Ivan been piloting, he would have taken advantage of any mistakes Tony made. He would have forced Tony to make difficult decisions, threatening the lives of innocents at the expo.

But Dr. Pym's error-prone piloting left him vulnerable.

After a prolonged battle, Tony saw his chance. He flew toward the mecha, carefully navigating along its massive body before positioning himself in front of the cockpit.

Opening a portal—twice the size of a person—he sliced into the cockpit and sent Dr. Pym tumbling into the air.

"Free-falling chicken, enjoy the fall!" Tony muttered under his breath.

"Dr. Pym, you lost again. Give up. If you surrender, I'll get you a good lawyer to minimize your sentence."

With victory almost certain, Tony couldn't resist taunting. "Oh wait... you're old. Even if you're sentenced, you'll be too weak to get out."

Dr. Pym didn't respond, remaining silent even as he fell.

Tony, on the other hand, had a new problem. He wasn't sure how many Pym particles Dr. Pym had left, and he couldn't get too close without risking an attack.

"Dr. Pym, surrender. Hand over the Pym particles, or…" Tony raised his palms, gathering energy, his intent clear.

Russell, watching the battle from the sidelines, was frustrated.

Dr. Pym was fumbling with the mecha, constantly making mistakes.

It was clear to Russell that, according to his plan, Tony was supposed to lose—captured and teleported into the quantum realm.

Instead, Tony had fought back, taking control of the battle, cutting open the cockpit, and subduing Dr. Pym.

Russell groaned. Dr. Pym was too inconsistent, and the mecha was now losing ground.

But just as things seemed over, Dr. Pym's mecha, now crippled, managed one last desperate move.

A special Pym particle bullet fired from the mecha's barrel, streaking toward Tony.

As Tony prepared to dodge, something unexpected happened: the bullet accelerated.
