Chapter 24 - Ji Lanqing Guards Her Food
The auction venue was already bustling with people. Those with power and influence sat in the private rooms on the second floor, while ordinary people occupied the main hall on the first floor.
Those who weren’t qualified to enter the auction stood outside the entrance, just to watch the excitement.
A rumbling sound caught everyone’s attention, and they all turned to look in the direction of the noise. A black dot in the distance was rapidly approaching.
It was Jun Jiuxiao’s carriage. As it got closer, the crowd finally got a good look at it and gasped in shock.
“Who is that? Using nine flood dragons to pull their carriage, and each dragon is at the Void Heaven Realm.”
“Which family’s genius disciple could it be? I’ve never heard of any disciple using nine flood dragons to pull their carriage,” an elderly man with graying hair exclaimed.
“Could it be a powerful elder from the older generation?” someone else speculated.
“That’s the chariot of the Holy Son from Xuantian Holy Land! I heard that decades ago, Jun Wuqi went alone to the flood dragon territory with just a sword and captured nine Void Heaven Realm flood dragons to pull his disciple’s carriage,” a middle-aged man loudly said.
“Holy Son of Xuantian? Does Xuantian Holy Land even have a Holy Son? Why haven’t we heard of this before?” someone asked the question on everyone’s minds.
“I’ve heard that Xuantian Holy Land appointed a Holy Son early on, but he’s been focused on cultivating and has never left the Holy Land.”
“Then what is the name of this Holy Son of Xuantian Holy Land, and what is his cultivation level?”
“I believe his name is Jun Jiuxiao, but his cultivation level hasn’t been disclosed.”
Someone else asked, “Are there any disciples from Xuantian Holy Land here? What is this Holy Son’s cultivation level?”
A person wearing the attire of an inner disciple of Xuantian Holy Land stood up and said, “About a month ago, I heard that the Holy Son was in the early stage of Self-Severing Realm.”
“Gasp! The Holy Son of Xuantian reached the Self-Severing Realm before the age of one hundred? His talent is truly terrifying,” a young man in the Spirit Transformation Realm remarked.
“As expected, the Holy Son is unparalleled in talent, overshadowing all his peers,” said the inner disciple who had previously revealed Jun Jiuxiao’s cultivation, feeling immensely proud as if he himself had reached the Self-Severing Realm.
While everyone continued their discussion, Jun Jiuxiao’s carriage arrived at the entrance of the auction building.
The elder in charge of the venue personally came out to welcome Jun Jiuxiao.
Xuantian Holy Land was the dominant force in the Eastern Region, and although Jun Jiuxiao hadn’t left the Holy Land before, he was still one of the most esteemed figures there. Fu’an Chamber of Commerce had to show him the respect he deserved.
Jun Jiuxiao stepped gracefully out of the carriage, followed by Ji Lanqing, who helped him put on his cloak.
The elder of Fu’an Chamber warmly approached and said, “Welcome, Holy Son Jiuxiao. Your presence honors us. The private room has been prepared; please follow me.”
Jun Jiuxiao nodded in acknowledgment towards the elder and then instructed Wang Jie, “Keep an eye on the carriage and wait for me.”
“As you command.” Wang Jie obediently led the flood dragons aside to wait.
Guided by the elder of Fu’an Chamber of Commerce, Jun Jiuxiao made his way to the best private room on the second floor, with Ji Lanqing following closely behind.
Once Jun Jiuxiao entered the private room, people began to chatter amongst themselves.
“The Holy Son of Xuantian Holy Land indeed has an extraordinary aura, but I couldn’t discern his cultivation level.”
Everyone chimed in with agreement, hoping that their words of praise might somehow reach Jun Jiuxiao’s ears, leaving a good impression.
It’s just that the woman following behind the Holy Son was incredibly ugly, with a massive red birthmark covering her entire right cheek. Could it be that the Holy Son of Xuantian has such peculiar tastes?
Jun Jiuxiao had already brought Ji Lanqing into the private room. The elder of Fu’an Commerce Chamber personally served them spiritual tea and fruits before leaving.
Jun Jiuxiao paid no attention to the inferior spiritual fruits and tea. Ji Lanqing had just consumed the enlightenment tea, and her spiritual energy was about to overflow, so she didn’t need to eat either.
The auction was about to begin. Jun Jiuxiao picked up the detailed catalog of auction items and then handed it to Ji Lanqing, saying, “Choose whatever you like, and I’ll pay for it.”
Of course, Jun Jiuxiao wasn’t being so generous without reason. He had accepted a mission released by 2233, and spirit stones held no real significance to him anymore. Therefore, he didn’t mind letting Ji Lanqing spend freely.
The female lead he had been cultivating had just harbored ill intentions towards someone else, so he decided to be a bit generous. Apart from Jun Wuqi, Ji Lanqing was the only person who could make Jun Jiuxiao, the miser, spend money.
Ji Lanqing softly replied, “Okay.” She remembered all the kindness Jun Jiuxiao had shown her and promised herself that she would repay him twice as much in the future.
“Dong, dong, dong.” A knocking sound echoed through the room, and Jun Jiuxiao said, “Come in.”
A voluptuous woman with an alluring figure, dressed scantily, sashayed into the room. She bowed gracefully in front of Jun Jiuxiao, and he could clearly see her cleavage.
With a seductive voice, the woman said, “I am here by the elder’s command to serve the Holy Son.”
She then attempted to approach Jun Jiuxiao, clearly seeking intimate contact with him.
Ji Lanqing stepped between Jun Jiuxiao and the woman, her eyes glaring sharply at the intruder. What kind of trashy woman dares to approach my Holy Son?
The seductive woman looked at Ji Lanqing standing in her way, her face half-covered with a large red birthmark. She’s so ugly, yet she dares to stop me from approaching the Holy Son. Is she afraid I’ll steal his affection?
The woman’s thoughts quickly shifted as she continued to walk forward. Ji Lanqing reached out to stop her, and the woman pretended to be pushed by Ji Lanqing, falling dramatically to the ground.
She deliberately pulled her collar lower, exposing half of her milky-white breasts.
Ji Lanqing realized she hadn’t touched the woman, who had fallen deliberately to frame her. Anxious, she looked at Jun Jiuxiao, who watched the woman on the floor with interest.
The woman raised her head, her seductive eyes misty with tears, looking pitifully at Jun Jiuxiao with a tender and lingering expression.
Seeing Jun Jiuxiao smiling at her, she was confident she could replace the ugly woman before her and climb up to Jun Jiuxiao.
In a soft and weak voice, she said to Jun Jiuxiao, “Holy Son, I just wanted to get closer to you…” She glanced at Ji Lanqing and then lowered her head as if frightened.
Ji Lanqing explained to Jun Jiuxiao, “Holy Son, I didn’t touch her. She fell by herself. You must believe me.”
She then turned to the woman with a fierce expression and said, “You deliberately framed me in front of the Holy Son. What is your motive?”
The woman didn’t respond but gazed infatuatedly at Jun Jiuxiao, tears welling in her eyes, evoking pity.
Jun Jiuxiao scrutinized the woman, seemingly interested, and asked with a smile, “Did you say my maid pushed you?”
The woman remained silent, embodying the essence of a “green tea girl,” stammering without saying anything. She looked at Ji Lanqing with fear and then at Jun Jiuxiao with teary eyes, as if he were her hero.
Ji Lanqing continued to explain, “Holy Son, I didn’t push her. She’s framing me.”
“Lanqing, since she says you pushed her, then you did push her,” Jun Jiuxiao said.
Ji Lanqing’s expression darkened, and she clenched her fists, biting her lip tightly.
The woman lowered her head, revealing a victorious smile, ready to play the innocent damsel.
Jun Jiuxiao’s smile disappeared, and he spoke coldly, “Even if my maid pushed you, so what? If my maid pushes you, you deserve it.”
“I’m giving the Fu’an Commerce Chamber face by not killing you today. Now get out.”
The woman froze, looking up to see Jun Jiuxiao’s cold and ruthless eyes. She trembled in fear and crawled out of the room.
Seeing Jun Jiuxiao speaking to protect her again, the corners of Ji Lanqing’s mouth curved slightly.
Watching Ji Lanqing smile, Jun Jiuxiao felt pleased as well. He couldn’t have helped her without getting something in return, so he decided to charge her a fee.
He said, “Since you drove away the person sent by the Fu’an Commerce Chamber to serve me, you’ll have to take her place. Come over here and massage my shoulders.”
Ji Lanqing obediently stood behind Jun Jiuxiao, gently massaging his shoulders and back.
