Chapter 19 - Master and Disciple: One-Armed Immortals
When Ji Lanqing heard Jun Jiuxiao’s voice, her heart jolted, but she remained kneeling and did not rise.
The Great Elder, pleased with Ji Lanqing’s obedience, became even more satisfied seeing Jun Jiuxiao’s fury. He was about to continue announcing the punishment for Ji Lanqing.
Jun Jiuxiao stepped forward, pulling Ji Lanqing up.
Ji Lanqing did not expect Jun Jiuxiao to come and pull her up, and she offered no resistance, allowing him to lift her effortlessly.
The Grand Elder roared, “Jun Jiuxiao!”
“It’s better if the Grand Elder calls me Holy Son, after all, I haven’t been deposed yet,” Jun Jiuxiao said, staring directly at the Grand Elder, and then pushed Ji Lanqing aside.
The Grand Elder wanted to kill Jun Jiuxiao with a single strike, but he did not dare. He knew that if he harmed Jun Jiuxiao even slightly, Jun Wuqi, who protected his disciple fiercely, would definitely come back and execute him. Even the ancestors lying in their graves wouldn’t be able to stop him.
The Grand Elder closed his eyes and sent a voice transmission to Lin Mu, “Kill Jun Jiuxiao’s maid.”
Upon receiving the Grand Elder’s message, Lin Mu, showing no hesitation, directly used fifty percent of his spiritual power to attack Ji Lanqing.
Being at the Venerable Realm, he had more than enough power to kill someone at the Qi Gathering Realm like Ji Lanqing a hundred times over.
Seeing that the Grand Elder couldn’t handle Jun Jiuxiao, Lin Mu was determined to take his anger out on Ji Lanqing. He did not hold back and aimed to kill with one strike.
Jun Jiuxiao saw Lin Mu attacking Ji Lanqing, knowing that she would certainly die from this blow. He quickly moved to stand in front of Ji Lanqing, taking the attack for her.
Jun Jiuxiao revealed his cultivation at the late stage Self-Severing Realm and took the blow from Lin Mu’s Venerable Realm power head-on, causing him to spit out three mouthfuls of blood.
I’m injured, but it’s all an act.
Of course, Jun Jiuxiao was pretending. Being at the Great Emperor Realm, there was no way he could be injured by Lin Mu, a mere Venerable Realm cultivator.
Jun Jiuxiao sensed that his master, Jun Wuqi, was about to arrive. His first priority was to sacrifice himself to save the heroine and complete his mission.
Secondly, he wanted to give his master, Jun Wuqi, a reason to act, achieving two goals with one action.
After spitting out blood, Jun Jiuxiao collapsed into Ji Lanqing’s arms, his face resting against her chest. He thought he might as well enjoy this moment, and he made sure the male lead was wearing this green hat properly without it tilting.
Ji Lanqing held Jun Jiuxiao tightly, almost smothering him. Although the sensation was pleasant, it was also quite stifling.
When Lin Mu attacked, Ji Lanqing felt certain she would die.
She hadn’t yet avenged her family or even started her cultivation. She didn’t understand why Jun Jiuxiao was so kind to her or what he wanted from her.
Ji Lanqing closed her eyes, awaiting death. But after several moments, death did not come.
Opening her eyes, she saw a towering figure standing in front of her. For some reason, her heart pounded wildly at that moment.
Ji Lanqing no longer pondered what Jun Jiuxiao wanted from her; she only wanted him to live.
As long as Jun Jiuxiao was alive, no matter what he wanted from her, she would give it to him.
Ji Lanqing cast a cold glance at Lin Mu and the Grand Elder, memorizing their faces. These two were now on her list of enemies.
Lin Mu, seeing that he had injured Jun Jiuxiao, who lay unconscious in Ji Lanqing’s arms, was drenched in cold sweat and trembling uncontrollably.
Before Lin Mu could react, a voice from afar shouted, “You dare harm my disciple.” It was Jun Wuqi’s voice, followed by a heavy blow that sent Lin Mu crashing to the ground.
Jun Wuqi ignored everyone else and landed directly in front of Ji Lanqing. He used spiritual energy to probe Jun Jiuxiao’s body and discovered that the injury was staged.
Understanding his disciple’s intentions, Jun Wuqi gave Ji Lanqing a healing pill and instructed her to feed it to Jun Jiuxiao.
Jun Wuqi then walked towards the five elders and took the main seat, saying, “Are you judging Jiuxiao? What exactly did my disciple do? How dare a mere inner elder attack my disciple, the Holy Son of the Xuantian Holy Land, and seriously injure him?”
Jun Wuqi’s gaze swept over Lin Mu, who immediately fell to his knees, begging for mercy. “Holy Lord, I never intended to attack the Holy Son. I only targeted his maid. I didn’t expect the Holy Son to block the attack. Please forgive me; I had no intention of harming the Holy Son.”
The Grand Elder also defended Lin Mu, “Holy Lord, this was indeed an accident. Elder Lin did not intend to harm the Holy Son.”
Jun Wuqi coldly looked at Lin Mu. “Is this the hand you used to injure my disciple?”
Before Lin Mu could respond, Jun Wuqi drew the Tianyuan Sword and severed his right arm.
One had a missing left arm, the other a missing right arm. It was a perfect symmetrical match, clearly indicating a master-disciple relationship.
Jun Wuqi did not give Lin Mu time to speak and continued, “Fortunately, my disciple is unharmed, so I will only sever one of your arms. You are to resign from your position as elder and go to the Seclusion Cliff for solitary confinement.”
The Grand Elder wanted to say something, but seeing Jun Wuqi’s blood-stained Tianyuan Sword, he closed his mouth.
Lin Mu continued to kowtow and beg for mercy, “Holy Lord, spare me. I truly did not intend to harm the Holy Son. Please, show mercy.”
Seeing that Jun Wuqi remained unresponsive and merely looked at him coldly, Lin Mu turned to the Grand Elder for help. “Grand Elder, save me, it’s you who—”
Before Lin Mu could finish, the Great Elder struck him, sending him flying and coughing up blood, unable to speak further.
Jun Wuqi had already known that all this was orchestrated by the Grand Elder, so he ignored Lin Mu’s pleas.
He then instructed Ji Lanqing to take the now-awake Jun Jiuxiao away.
Jun Jiuxiao and Ji Lanqing left, leaving the stage to Jun Wuqi.
