I’m a villain, but I want to live a long life.

Chapter 11

“I’m a villain, but I want to live a long life”

“The sky is so beautiful”

Sitting under a high, clear fall sky, I stroked my satisfied belly.

After a hearty meal at a sumptuous restaurant, I spent a leisurely hour in the garden.

I smiled, feeling peaceful and happy.

“And I got a real vacation.’

I stretched out and laid down on the grass, then muttered sentimentally.

“Look at those clouds.”

With my body and mind somewhat relaxed, I finally took in my surroundings.

Marble columns supporting the massive crimson roof.

The Tigeris family emblem is adorned everywhere.

The beautiful gardens spread out before me.

I yawned languidly as I marveled at the mansion’s grandeur.

It was fall, but the sun was still warm enough for lunch. I muttered excitedly.

“When am I going to tell Ansen that I got a vacation?”

I was sure he would be happy to hear the news. He looked desperate for a break.

I hummed and thought back to the conversation I’d had with the Duke in the dining room.

“That was a surprise, wasn’t it?

I was surprised he gave in to my request. I thought he was incredibly stubborn.

I thought he was going to be very stubborn, but he gave in.

Just as I was about to smile with pride, a cool breeze brushed across my forehead.

I closed my eyes and laid back under the drifting clouds, basking in the sunshine.

Drowsiness was creeping in, but just as I was about to fall asleep, I woke up.

“Oh my God, look who it is.”

My eyes snapped open at the sudden voice overhead.

In the sunlight, her fiery red hair shone brightly.

A girl who looked to be about my age stared down at me, her back to the sun.

She was dressed in a colorful dress and fanning herself with a feathered fan.

A fan?

“It’s fall, it must be pretty chilly.”

I glared at her from my lying position, then slowly sat up.

There was something strange about her expression. No, no, it was more like cheap.

For a kid who said hello to her, he looked like.

“She looks like she’s laughing at me.

It didn’t take long for my suspicions to be confirmed.

“From the way she’s lying here at this hour, I’m guessing Selenea has given up on getting into the Academy altogether. Isn’t that right, Martina?”

She said, one corner of her mouth quirking up. She looked at me as if I were pathetic.

Someone else walked out from the back.

“Rose, hey, let’s just go.”

“Oh, come on, Martina. Aren’t you even happy to see Selenea after all these years?”

“Are their names Rose and Martina, respectively”

I looked back and forth between them, dumbfounded, both of them strangers I’d never read about in a novel.

But then Rose burst out laughing. Her purple eyes swept me up and down, her gaze gleaming with mischief.

“Selenea, why aren’t you saying anything? Is it because you’re embarrassed to run into me at this hour when you should be napping?”

I stared at her, unable to answer. Rose didn’t stop but continued her sarcasm.

“I’m surprised, I never thought you were a shy girl.”

“Lo, Rose, stop it, let’s just go…….”

Martina tugged ever so slightly on the hem of Rose’s dress, but she didn’t stop talking, as if she was dying of amusement.

“Well, can I give you some advice? About getting into the Academy.”

I ignored her as she chattered to herself and glanced over at Martina, who was fidgeting next to me.

Martina was in a different mood than Rose.

Whereas Rose was head-to-toe glamorous, Martina’s outfit was plain to the eye.

Her purple hair, which hung long and half-hid her face, made her overall mood darker.

“Why are you not answering me, Selenea? Do you not want to take my advice?”

Rose asked again, impatiently.

“Now is not the time for your bitterness, is it? Not from anyone else, but from me, a potential candidate for the Academy. I’m the one who’s going to give you advice.”

Eventually, I changed my plan.

I’d originally planned to ignore him the entire time, but somehow that didn’t seem possible.

“Who are you?”

I asked bluntly, and Rose frowned and turned to look at me.

“……what?”

The smile vanished from her face. I trailed off, scanning her with a bland expression.

“Who are you to talk to me…….”

Martina’s eyes widened next to me. Rose let out a “Ha!” and folded the fan she was holding.

I smirked.

“You think you’re the only one who can put people on drugs?

I looked at Rose with a relaxed eye. Truth be told, I was starting to get annoyed at how rude she was being.

And even though I had no idea what was going on, I could tell for sure.

I knew for sure that she was completely disrespecting me.

And with kids like this, it was good to return the favor.

‘To my mental health, of course.

I shrugged, then added, “I don’t know who would do that.

“I don’t know who you are, but you’ve got some dirty work to do!”

“What, what…….”

Rose’s face flushed bright red.

“Me taking a nap, or you making a big deal out of someone who’s not doing anything…… I think that’s where you belong.”

“……!”

“What the fuck are you talking about…….”

I muttered to myself as if to be heard, and Rose shouted back.

“Don’t you think I’m like you, with nothing to do! I’m here to train, the Duke gave me the training grounds!”

“Oh, you mean?

I nodded, trying to piece together the puzzle in my mind. These kids were probably preparing to enter the academy.

“But why are they training at Tigeris Manor instead of their own home?

I shook my head, but Rose couldn’t hold back the bird and shouted again.

“How dare you compare yourself to me, you incompetent wretch!”

Her purple eyes glowed fiercely.

I stared at it calmly, then sighed heavily and took a step forward.

Then I felt Rose stiffen to the bone. I looked her straight in the eye and said.

“It doesn’t matter.”

“……what?”

“I don’t know why you’re here if you don’t have a clue.”

Rose’s mouth dropped open in disbelief. I continued calmly.

“I think you’re mistaken about something..”

“…….”

“I can kick you out of here even though you can’t write?”

“Well, what the hell!”

“This is my house.”

Rose staggered back with a shocked look on her face, and then suddenly screamed.

“Did you, did you just finish your sentence?!”

I shook my head coldly.

“No? I’m not done yet.”

“What……!!”

“Who taught you that it’s okay to behave like this in someone else’s house, and where did you pick up such a shallow habit of disrespecting people?”

Rose stared at me in disbelief, her body shaking with rage.

“Oh, did your brilliance teach you that, too?”

I laughed, wide-eyed, and Rose’s face went white.

“I don’t know why Selenea is being treated like this, but I’m not putting up with it.”

Kids this age don’t know what to put up with. I knew that all too well.

I’d already been through it in my previous life.

“Hey. What’s with Se-bin lee? Isn’t she conspiring? How is she top of her class?

‘I mean, she’s from a nursery school and doesn’t even go to a cram school.

‘Crazy. Then it must be cheating. How can he get the questions right that even an 800,000-won tutor couldn’t get right?

‘That’s why it’s unconditional coning. You must have been an orphan and didn’t learn the basics.

He chuckled. His eyes scanned me up and down. The way he looked me up and down, trying to pick out my flaws.

It was all so vivid.

I’ve seen this scene over and over again.

Kids that age sometimes hurt others without realizing it.

They don’t even think that the words they spit out will tear the other person to shreds.

“They’re young, they’re inexperienced, they don’t know any better.

I don’t realize it’s crueler than that.

I said coldly, not avoiding Rose’s gaze.

“You’re offended, then you should have been more careful with your words.”

Her face was now ashen, not white.

As Rose bit her lip tightly and shook herself, Martina hesitantly approached her again.

“To ……, Rose. Let’s go, okay?”

“Get off me!”

But in the next moment, Martina was sprawled helplessly on the floor by Rose, who had pinned her down.

Rose rolled her eyes and yelled at Martina.

“Don’t you dare touch that orphan! You think you’re like me, eating and sleeping in my family?!”

Martina’s violet eyes flickered through her disheveled hair.

I stared at the scene, stunned, then let out a short sigh.

“So this is why the mood was so different between you two.

The situation was slowly clearing up. I glanced over at Martina, who was crouched on the floor, looking worried.

‘On the subject of orphans,’ I said, the words ringing painfully in my ears.

“…… What am I going to do with this?

For a moment, I wished I hadn’t provoked Rose.

Maybe if I’d just ignored her, she wouldn’t have gotten the harsh words.

I reached out my hand to her.

Rose whirled around and shot me a venomous glare.

“……You, you wait and see. I’ll get into the Academy, but what about you?”

Rose laughed wickedly.

“You’re nothing, the unrealized, and you’ll never be loved by anyone. Even Duke Tigeris will abandon you when he realizes how useless you are!”

“…….”

“Of course, it’s no secret that we’re not the best of friends.”

I stopped talking.

Rose gritted her teeth and turned and stalked away.
