Chapter 19 - Su Mengyi
When their eyes met, Su Yu’s feelings were… complicated, to say the least, upon spotting this visitor.
Her ink-black hair was casually tied back, framing a tantalizing glimpse of her snowy white neck.
A purple gown hugged her graceful figure, the neckline revealing soft, creamy skin—curves far surpassing any young woman he’d seen.
Su Yu tilted his head to meet her dark eyes. Noticing his gaze linger on her plump, rosy lips, the purple-clad young woman flashed a flicker of displeasure.
She shot him a fierce glare… one that screamed, “I’ll deal with you later.”
Who was she?
A quick thought, and it clicked—his sister. Su Yu’s expression turned colorful.
…
Su Mengyi stepped over, pulling Su Yu behind her. Frowning, she snapped at Gu Yanran, “How long are you planning to stay?”
Staring into Gu Yanran’s crimson eyes, Su Mengyi issued an unceremonious eviction. She knew this girl was insufferable, but as her brother’s “friend,” she couldn’t exactly lay hands on her.
“I understand. I’ll visit again another day.”
With Su Yu’s sister speaking up, Gu Yanran had no choice but to comply.
“Wait… don’t you want to explain yourself?” Su Mengyi called after her retreating figure.
“Explain?” Interrupted from her moment, Gu Yanran felt a twinge of resentment. After a pause, a half-smile crept onto her face.
“Su Yu~ is quite delicious, you know.”
Her lips curved upward, a finger tapping them.
“In every sense… quite delicious.”
Su Yu turned his face away, shy, a delicate blush spreading across his fair cheeks.
Su Mengyi’s face darkened, itching to punch her. She knew Su Yu’s lips were delicious—did this girl need to rub it in?!
Hearing Gu Yanran was visiting had set off alarm bells. Worried she’d do something awful, Su Mengyi had rushed over—and sure enough!
If she’d arrived any later…
…
Gu Yanran left. She had to—making a scene like that in someone else’s home and not getting tossed out was generous enough.
But what about him now?
Su Yu felt the world was out to get him.
He’d meant to clear things up with his childhood sweetheart, and it ended like this?
Wasn’t the plot supposed to be Gu Yanran stepping aside, him marrying a gorgeous Immortal Lady, and living a pampered life as a kept man?
Why had it turned out like this?
His clear, innocent eyes sparkled like flawless gems, but now they brimmed with awkwardness.
Caught by family in such an intimate blunder—what was he supposed to do?
This caught-in-the-act vibe made him squirm. He wanted to say he’d been forced, but who’d believe him after that display?
Hands around her neck, face alight with enjoyment—he couldn’t just brush it off with “It’s not what you think, it’s a misunderstanding”…
Su Yu’s mind churned, standing there at a loss.
Still, the best way to handle embarrassment was to calm down and figure out an explanation.
He exhaled…
But before he could speak, a hand patted his head.
“Fix yourself up—don’t let anyone see you like this,” Su Mengyi said. “You don’t want bad rumors spreading, do you?”
She pulled a handkerchief from her sleeve and handed it to him.
“Wipe your mouth. It’s all swollen from kissing.”
Su Yu’s face flushed as he took the handkerchief—warm with her body heat, faintly scented—and dabbed his lips. He looked up at Su Mengyi.
Her purple gown clung to her snowy skin, her face stunning, black hair swaying in the breeze.
This commanding presence—was this really the second sister from his memories?!
Su Mengyi blinked at his dumbfounded stare. “Why’re you looking at me like that? What, curious about the birds and bees? Want to know what positions and tricks we use in bed?”
What kind of wild talk was this?!
Su Yu was floored.
It was his first time hearing a woman—his own sister, no less—speak so brazenly about such things.
“Who’s asking you that?!”
His mouth twitched, disappointed. “I’m just wondering why you seem off today—not doing those… those…”
“Those what? Naughty things?” Su Mengyi leaned close, her warm breath tickling his ear, teasing.
The sudden heat startled him, and he jumped back.
“W-What are you doing?!” he stammered, blushing.
She shook her head. “I thought you’d grown up, matured, gotten curious about these things. Guess I was wrong.”
“So, spill it—what was going on just now? Who corrupted my innocent little brother?”
Su Yu’s expression turned odd.
Innocent?
Maybe the original Su Yu was, but him…
He’d devoured 106,000 smut books, mastered every technique and pose in theory, seen every wild scenario.
All on paper, sure—but innocent? Hardly.
…
Walking through bustling streets, Gu Yanran’s heart was elsewhere.
Deepening her bond with her beloved should’ve been joyful, but her stunning eyes glinted coldly—where was the happiness?
Who’d willingly share their love with another?
Without Su Yu near, Gu Yanran regained her senses.
Their relationship had progressed, yes, but what lay ahead was nothing short of humiliating.
“Am I really going to watch him marry someone else?”
She felt lost.
They’d planned to run away together, but Su Yu backed out. She knew it was unrealistic, yet the pang of loss lingered.
To her, Su Yu was pure, flawless—sacred. But after marriage, would he stay that way?
She didn’t think him dirty—it was just something no woman could stomach.
Her beloved, in another’s arms, while she could only watch.
The mere thought stabbed her heart like needles.
Pain flashed in her eyes, impossible to hide.
Su Yu was her everything, the vessel of all her love. But the more she cared, the deeper her agony.
Yet there was no way around it.
Her crimson eyes stared blankly at the ground.
As they’d agreed—get stronger, then take him back?
But…
Would that really work?
