Chapter 247: Chapter 5. The Legendary Harem Protagonist Template
[Arc4] - 5. The Legendary Harem Protagonist Template

This family is surprisingly ordinary…
Sitting on the sofa, Cyd glanced around.
What on earth!
"My name is Shirou Emiya. Please feel free to relax; the snacks will be ready soon," said the orange-haired boy, skillfully tying on an apron.
"Hello, my name is Sella, a maid from the Einzbern family," said Sella, who had a hairstyle that gave off dangerous housewife vibes, bowing politely.
"Leysritt~," said Leysritt lazily, scratching her head.
"My name is Illya, Illyasviel von Einzbern," said the white-haired little girl, waving her hand.
Is this... the template for a winner in life?
…
Cyd couldn't help but glance at Shirou Emiya, who was cutting something in the kitchen.
In this house, he was the only guy. There were older sisters and l*lis, flat-chested, lazy and diligent, emotionless and lively—every kind of character attribute was covered.
"My name is Cyd," Cyd raised his index finger. "It's just a coincidental name, don't get the wrong idea~"
"Coincidental name?" Illya tilted her head.
"Yes, a hero from Greek mythology," Shirou Emiya walked out of the kitchen, placing the snacks in front of Cyd. "Please enjoy."
"After all, Illya only cares about magical girls," Leysritt teased.
"Leysritt!" Illya's face flushed as she grabbed Leysritt's hand and playfully shook it.
"Magical girls?" Cyd raised an eyebrow, glanced at Illya, and then nodded. "That's pretty nice."
"Really?!" Illya's eyes lit up, as if she had found a kindred spirit, and she pulled out some magical girl merchandise. "Big brother also likes magical girls?!"
"Illya," Shirou Emiya gently called her name, his tone soft.
"Sorry," Illya froze for a moment and then lowered her head, a bit embarrassed.
"It's fine," Cyd smiled lightly, shaking his head. "It's about time; I won't bother you any longer."
"Please wait, I'll pack the snacks for you," Shirou Emiya said as he removed his apron.
"Thank you for the trouble."
What an interesting family.
Cyd looked at the carefully wrapped snacks in his hand and chuckled.
"Einzbern, Emiya," Cyd's lips curled slightly. "Choosing to live as ordinary people, huh? I hope you all have a peaceful future."
That girl named Illya wasn't quite normal. There was something inside her, but she was just a simple girl who loved magical girls. Shirou Emiya was just a gentle boy. It was Sella and Leysritt that intrigued him more.
They were homunculi, much like the homunculi from the Yggdmillennia, but the difference was that they had their own wills. In a sense, they had already become human.
Cyd returned to their temporary base and placed the snacks on the table.
"How was the visit?" asked El-Melloi II, still fiddling with a controller.
"Hmm, the neighbors are pretty nice," Cyd propped his chin on his hand. "Emiya and Einzbern."
El-Melloi II's hand slipped, pressing the wrong button. His advantage in the game instantly reversed, and he didn't snap out of it until a giant "Game Over" appeared on the screen.
"Could it really be that much of a coincidence?" El-Melloi II sat up, scratching his head in frustration.
To be honest, he had originally set his sights on the house next to the one Cyd had just visited—the Emiya and Einzbern household.
He was this close to subtly suggesting they go on vacation. Just thinking about the Magus Killer, Kiritsugu Emiya, and the Einzbern battle maids made El-Melloi II's scalp tingle.
"Don't worry, they're just friendly neighbors," Cyd said as he stuffed a snack into his mouth, nodding in approval. "And their snacks are delicious."
"Is that so… I think we should hurry up and finish collecting the cards," El-Melloi II shook his head, pulling a map out of the box and spreading it on the table.
While he didn't think like a typical magus, he was well aware of how other magi thought. Kiritsugu Emiya was the type that you couldn't guard against enough. In his memory, Kiritsugu had no qualms about abandoning the magus' dignity, taking ruthless means to the extreme. And judging by the way the previous generation died, it seemed like Kiritsugu's origin bullets had been the culprit.
Although he didn't intend to avenge his predecessor by taking down Kiritsugu, he had no idea what Kiritsugu might be thinking. If possible, he didn't want to involve Gray in any terrorist attacks.
"All those cards are in alternate dimensions, and theoretically, only that person's Mystic Code can access them. But I've slightly modified the spell," El-Melloi II took out a blank sheet of paper and deftly sketched a magic circle on it. "This should allow us to enter as well."
"Just how much do you reject that person's Mystic Code?" Cyd scratched his head. "Going out of your way to do unnecessary work."
"That Mystic Code… it allows the user to cast A-rank magical barriers, physical protection, healing boosts, enhanced physical abilities, and a whole range of other abilities. In theory, it gives humans the power to rival Servants. But..." El-Melloi II's expression twisted in frustration, as if he couldn't comprehend the design. "The price is, you have to turn into a magical girl."
"Wait… huh?!" Cyd's eyes widened. "What kind of ridiculous setting is that?"
"Exactly! That's what I mean! A Mystic Code designed to strengthen the user—I can tolerate the fact that it has a personality, but why does it force you to become a magical girl!" El-Melloi II tugged at his hair in exasperation.
For a third-rate magus like him, who was all theory and constantly got thrashed in real combat, this kind of Mystic Code would be perfect. It would not only improve his chances of survival but also boost his combat effectiveness. Yet, it came with the condition of turning into a magical girl.
He couldn't for the life of him understand what kind of mindset the creator had when they made this Mystic Code.
"Magical girl, huh…" Cyd stroked his chin thoughtfully. "Why not let Gray try it out?"
Thud—
A pile of clothes suddenly fell heavily to the floor.
Both Cyd and El-Melloi II turned to see Gray standing there, frozen in place.
"Sorry," Gray hastily gathered the fallen clothes and quickly hurried out.
"Judging by that reaction, it seems she already tried it," Cyd tilted his head. "I thought a kid like Gray wouldn't mind being a magical girl."
"I don't know what exactly happened, but no matter how much I asked, Gray wouldn't tell me," El-Melloi II muttered, pulling out a cigar from the box.
"If even you couldn't get her to say anything, it must've been something extremely embarrassing. Best not to dig into it," Cyd said, tapping on the map spread out on the table. "So, who are we chopping tonight?"
