Chapter 30: Drained Chakra
Chapter 30: Drained Chakra
The situation became tense, and Rodney's actions further enraged Arlong, causing his eyes to transform into bloodthirsty vertical pupils, a sign of irritated merfolk.
"You have injured and killed my dear comrades, insulting us noble merfolk..." He locked eyes with Rodney, his scarlet eyes ominous.
"I will kill you! Let me show you the meaning of cruelty! Koruubi, Hachi, join me in killing him!"
Koruubi assumed a stance in Fish-Man Karate. "Sure thing," he replied.
"Oh, I see." Hatchan used his six arms to wield six long swords simultaneously. "Are you ready to face us together?" He flexed his still-numb arms.
"Water Release: Wild Water Wave!"
A powerful stream of water gushed forth from Rodney's mouth. Arlong, Koruubi, and Hatchan resisted the water flow, while Hatchan chuckled and remarked, "Is this human an idiot? What good is water against us merfolk? Maybe it will even help us?"
Despite his words, his six flaccid octopus arms continued to wave, indicating his good mood.
Arlong snorted coldly. "How can a mere human understand the power of a merfolk?"
"No! Boss Arlong, look at his hands!" Koruubi noticed Rodney's hand movements as Rodney exclaimed, "Lightning Release: Lightning Bolt Technique!"
Bright thunderous lights originated from Rodney and swiftly attacked the three merfolk.
Crackling!
"Ahhhhhhh!" x3
The shockwave left the three of them numb. Rodney ceased his attack, spat out the water, and took advantage of their paralysis. With their bodies temporarily immobilized, he took a deep breath and prepared to unleash a technique. One hand seal was all it took.
His chest expanded as a large amount of chakra gathered in his throat. In the next second, a torrent of flames surged toward the three merfolk.
Fire Release: Extinguishing Curtain Field!
"What?!"
A deluge of fire bore down on them, scorching their skin with intense heat. Moisture evaporated rapidly from their skin, which began to dry and crack before the flames consumed them.
Rodney heard several screams and the sound of heavy objects plunging into the water. He realized what had transpired and stopped channeling chakra, which resulted in depleting most of the chakra within his body. Not everyone could achieve the level of Mr. Madara, who could utilize a B-rank ninjutsu with the effect of a forbidden technique.
However, since he had used a considerable amount of chakra for visual effects, the power of the technique was still significant.
"I can't let them escape."
"Eight Gatess: Gate of Opening! Open!"
The brain's restrictions were lifted, allowing full use of the body.
"Eight Gates: Gate of Healing! Open!"
Physical fatigue was eliminated, revitalizing the body's energy and recovering physical strength depleted by energy consumption.
"Eight Gates: Gate of Life! Open!"
Blood congested the body's surface, with green chakra energy surging through the veins. This was the final safe gate of the Eight Inner Gates. At this point, Rodney ceased opening any further gates, concerned about his health. It was just an experiment, so there was no need to put his life at risk.
The temporary restraints within his body vanished, allowing chakra to flow unimpeded. With powerful strides, Rodney shattered the house beneath him, its debris falling into the water like a shell just fired from a cannon.
He struck the waves!
Before activating the system, Rodney spotted Arlong in the water, his body charred black with extensive burns. Arlong noticed him too, his eyes widening as he spoke directly into the water. "Human?! How dare you enter our sea! This is the home of us merfolk!"
But Arlong observed that Rodney's attack method involved spewing various things from his mouth, yet he wasn't a Devil Fruit user. This guy moved freely in the water, showing no signs of weakened strength.
"Hold on, Boss Arlong, look at this guy's side." Koruubi sensed Rodney's aura and felt a deep sense of fear. Despite being burned and in pain underwater, these injuries were commonplace for merfolk, so there was no need for concern.
Rodney's chakra emanated an aura that made him hesitant to attack. Who knew what special skills he might employ?
However, Rodney had no intention of using any special skills. Fueled by abundant chakra, he executed the Moonstep, a technique he couldn't normally perform underwater. Swiftly, he shot toward Arlong like an arrow released from a bow.
Arlong refused to yield to humans and was unwilling to retreat. He aimed to defeat Rodney and tear him apart with his formidable teeth. Even if his opponent died, he wouldn't let go!
He lunged forward, attempting to bite Rodney, but to his dismay, his teeth met a fierce fist. Despite the water's resistance, with sufficient force, speed could be adjusted.
That punch shattered Arlong's fangs-filled mouth, and Rodney didn't give him a chance to catch his breath. Punch after punch hammered Arlong's body as if Rodney was pummeling a sandbag!
With his right fist tucked at his waist, Rodney's action widened Koruubi's eyes.
Fish-Man Karate: Thousand Brick Fist!
Boom!
The tremendous force exploded, sending Arlong hurtling out of the water. Rodney wasted no time. He burst through the water, stepped on its surface, caught up with Arlong, and leaped into the air using the Moon Step. He reached Aaron's back and kicked him upward once more.
Kick after kick, relentless in his assault. After countless kicks, he sent Arlong soaring into the ruins of Arlong Paradise with a mid-air volley kick. Arlong lay across the wreckage, covered in blood. Rodney approached him without a word.
Arlong had already lost consciousness due to Rodney's relentless strikes. Aware of the trouble Arlong could cause, Rodney stepped on his chest, grinding his foot onto the Sun Pirates logo.
Crack! Crack! Crack!
The sternum crumbled beneath his foot, with bone fragments piercing Aaron's lungs, heart, and blood vessels. Blood flowed freely through his body, gushing from his mouth.
"Boss Arlong!!!"
"Boss!! Stop!!!"
Koruubi and Hatchan climbed ashore, witnessing the scene of Arlong's demise.
"Your turn now!" Focusing on Koruubi and Hatchan, with these two remaining, the mission could be completed.
"Ahhhh! I'll kill you!" Koruubi shouted, "Fish-Man Karate: Thousand Brick Fist!"
Rodney effortlessly evaded the attack, his Sharingan capturing Koruubi's movements. The latter's stance resembled that of the Hundred Tiles Fist, only with increased strength.
Stepping away, Rodney withdrew a handful of kunai from his pocket, each blade imbued with a layer of wind blades.
Pooh!
He easily severed Koruubi's thick arm. Rodney's movements didn't cease. He attached an explosive tag to Koruubi's body, then swiftly kicked his stomach from an oblique angle.
"Ah!"
Boom! Boom! Boom!
A chain explosion commenced, obliterating the cartilaginous merfolk, Koruubi, courtesy of the explosive tag.
"Next up is you!"
"You... you..." Hatchan's hand holding the sword trembled, and he continued to retreat. Rodney's presence left a terrifying shadow in his heart, far surpassing the fear that Arlong had instilled in him.
"If you leave the Arlong Pirates now, I can spare your life. Leave immediately and return to your homeland."
Rodney stated as the system indicated that the mission had been completed, and only Hatchan remained. The Arlong Pirates group no longer existed.
"I... you killed everyone! I won't leave!" Although terrified, Hatchan held his ground.
"Is that so..." Rodney ceased the Eight Gates and delivered a punch to Hatchan's face, sending him flying into the sea.
Clapping his hands, a feeling of emptiness overcame him as the effects of the Eight Gates technique subsided. The restraints within his body returned, leaving him with limited chakra. He felt incredibly uncomfortable as if he might collapse at any moment.
He couldn't afford to fall now!
Struggling to maintain consciousness, he made his way into the nearby forest. In a hazy state, he spotted a river, and the Fish-Men he had slain beckoned to him kindly.
Was it an illusion?
