I Took the Heroine’s First Time in a Romance Fantasy Novel

Chapter 15

Johan squinted as he watched Kasys’s departing figure.

‘Looks like I’ve successfully diverted his gaze away from me.’

The last greeting from Kasys was laced with malice. It carried such a potent killing intent that every hair on Johan’s body stood on end.

‘It might be foolish to accumulate enemies, but those enemies were bound to appear anyway. Better to throw the first punch like this.’

It was less bitter to flaunt his relationship with Fransia and become an enemy this way than to remain silent and end up as one.

“Are you feeling alright? You’ve pushed yourself quite hard. Even if your magic has recovered, your physical condition is a different matter.”

Fransia asked with a tone full of concern. Johan smiled as he ruffled her hair.

“As you can see, I’m perfectly fine. The amount of magic I possess is much more than I expected. So I didn’t strain my body at all.”

Even though the magic consumed for Spiral Break wasn’t insignificant, he was able to walk without issue after using it twice.

Through this battle, Johan realized that he possessed far more magical power than he had thought.

‘You can’t know your limits unless you push your magic to the extreme.’

It was only natural that he didn’t know his limits. Up until now, he had only been using simple everyday or convenience spells.

The most he had done in front of the duke was to alter the environment, which did consume quite a bit of magic, but it was nowhere near the point of collapse.

‘How far can I go?’

He still couldn’t gauge his limits, but the situation was looking positive.

Now, he had a chance to use the transcendent magic, which was one step above the first tier.

“Still, don’t you think you ought to rest a bit more?”

“Thank you for worrying, but I really am fine.”

Johan rolled up his sleeves and moved his arms up and down.

“There’s nothing uncomfortable about moving my body. I really am okay.”

“Ugh…”

Still, Fransia looked filled with worry. Her eyes, glowing red in the moonlight, had been dark for a while now.

“…There are many trials waiting for us ahead.”

She said softly.

“Moreover, more madmen who seek your life like this will emerge.”

Her voice trembled.

“Even if it’s all because of me, will you still love me…?”

Fransia looked up, meeting Johan’s eyes. Her trembling eyes seemed to represent the anxiety she harbored within.

“…Shall we go inside? This conversation seems like it could get lengthy.”

As Johan took her hand, she nodded and willingly followed him inside the tent.

“Fransia, I want you to know that once I’ve made up my mind, I never change it until the end.”

He spoke while looking into Fransia’s eyes.

“I understand what worries you. If things like this continue, people will naturally tire of it, and then they will distance themselves from the source of that weariness.”

But Johan continued.

“I don’t find love to be tiresome. From that first night we spent together, I fell for you, and you fell for me as well. We share each other’s hearts.”

Fransia’s heart thudded loudly. It felt as though the sound reverberated directly in his ears, causing Johan to smile without realizing it.

“There’s a saying I know: understanding is momentary, but responsibility is eternal. I believe this saying came about for a reason.”

If he had been terrified from the start of the characters classified as villains in this world, he wouldn’t have attempted a deal with the duke.

If he had been afraid to share the life of someone destined for misfortune, he would have fled, blaming Fransia.

Simply closing your eyes and running away like a coward is a viable option, so why take responsibility for her?

Of course, if the duke found out, he would surely come after his life, but Fransia would not have spoken of it. She is that kind of person.

Yet Johan decided to take responsibility. Guilt? It wasn’t due to any trivial emotion. He simply wanted to do it.

Perhaps that night, in a drunken haze, he had fallen for her without knowing it.

Gently, Johan caressed Fransia’s cheek.

“So you don’t have to worry. No matter what happens, I will never betray you. Even if it means losing my own life.”

Fransia’s red eyes glimmered with moisture. Something trickled down. It was a transparent sorrow and emotion.

“If I ask you to go to hell with me, will you?”

“If that path is one where we can find happiness, I would gladly follow.”

As Johan smiled widely, Fransia forced a shy smile. She then leaned into Johan, inhaling deeply.

“I’m truly happy.”

“I feel the same.”

“I’m happy that you’re my man.”

“I’m happy that you’re my woman, Fransia.”

“Hehe. You don’t back down easily.”

Suddenly, Fransia pulled Johan’s arm and lay back on the cot.

“The bed may be uncomfortable, but tonight is long.”

“…”

“We’ll carve unforgettable memories.”

Fransia wrapped her arms around Johan’s neck and pressed her lips against his.

“Someone might come.”

“Everyone is asleep right now, so it’s alright.”

“But we should be cautious…”

“Ugh.”

She pulled Johan closer again and kissed him.

“Right now, focus on me, okay?”

“…”

Johan wanted to avoid doing this in such a setting, but under her persistent requests, he pressed his lips against Fransia’s.

It was a night with a full moon.

*

Late at night.

“Haah…”

“Haahn…!”

Creak. Creak.

Inside the tent, the cot creaked, and amidst it all, the sweet moans of a man and woman flowed out.

Creak…! Creak…!

The movements grew more intense. The sounds of their breaths mingled, their lips touching, and their tongues intertwining filled the air.

Even without seeing, one could easily imagine what was happening within.

*

Nearby the tent, a man was crouched in a shadow where the moonlight didn’t reach, keenly attuned to the sounds inside.

‘Didn’t expect this at all.’

It was Fedelian Rojino.

He had come upon hearing that Fransia was keeping watch outside Johan Harsen’s tent late into the night, only to encounter this unexpected turn of events.

‘…Haha. This is amusing.’

Of course, if they were promised lovers, this was perfectly normal behavior.

But if it was someone he desired to have as his own.

Someone he craved but couldn’t possess.

‘Then I must kill him.’

The narrative shifts.

Fedelian clenched his fist tightly. His nails dug into his palm, drawing blood.

His golden royal eyes shimmered with a strange killing intent.

‘Someday, I will definitely.’

He would kill him.

*

The next day.

The dungeon scouting mission ended early.

While unexpected variables played a role, it was also concluded that there was no longer any point in further deliberating.

In the midst of this, there was the grim task of collecting the deceased, and Johan’s expression hardened as he looked upon the frozen Tersis.

“I’m sorry. It must be cold enough as it is, and I’ve made it even colder for you.”

Johan covered the frozen Tersis’s face with his handkerchief without being able to shut his eyes.

‘Has someone already taken the dog tag?’

Though he had grown fond of Tersis due to his boisterous personality and considerate nature, he never imagined he would die so abruptly.

Johan clenched his fist tightly. The prince who had caused this incident crossed his mind.

‘You will never die peacefully.’

As he furrowed his brow, Fransia grasped his hand.

“Deputy Head, he was a good man…”

“…That bastard will pay for his crimes.”

Fransia nodded, her expression hardening. She seemed determined.

“Then let’s go. We still have more to do ahead.”

“Yeah.”

Johan and Fransia returned to their positions, following the line.

Fedelian, leading the way, raised his sword high.

“Everyone, a moment of silence! Pray for our fallen comrades in this scouting mission to rest in peace!”

The officials and knights closed their eyes and clasped their hands together. After around ten seconds, Fedelian raised his voice again.

“With that, we conclude the scouting mission and will be heading back!”

The objective was achieved, and with minimal casualties, it was a successful first scouting mission; yet, Johan’s mind simply wouldn’t relax.

‘This lunatic’s audacity is nothing short of absurd.’

He thought, looking at Fedelian’s back. It was chilling to think he could play the saintly prince while being responsible for all the deaths.

‘Well, I suppose that’s why you are the main villain of a ruined story and the male lead.’

There must be readers who preferred such characters, but Johan couldn’t understand. It was a matter of personal taste, so he would respect it.

‘Anyway… this clears the quest for the first gate.’

Regardless of the circumstances, Duke Ferbache would have no choice but to recognize it. Johan had brought back the head of an archdemon in his first scouting mission.

Now the remaining task was to deal with the male leads approaching Fransia and counter the schemes of the antagonist women.

‘My worries are deepening.’

So far, the main villain, Rudella Bismarck, hadn’t made any moves, and Kasys had only just begun to stir.

This incident orchestrated by the crown prince was just a taste of things to come.

‘But I don’t think I will lose.’

He realized while facing the archdemon that his powers were far stronger than he had thought.

The power showcased by the Book of Calamities was enough proof. Did he not freeze the archdemon in an instant? With this strength, he could reverse any situation, even in dire straits.

Johan watched Fedelian’s back, who led the group. With each step his horse took, his golden hair flowed like noodles.

‘…Fedelian will lay low for now, so next, Kasys will make his move.’

Honestly, Johan had no idea what kind of tricks Kasys might pull.

He was part of the First Public Affairs Officer but didn’t play an active role in the matter.

‘Even so, it’s wise not to let my guard down.’

He was someone who had meddled with dark magic in his attempts to win Fransia’s heart. With Fedelian laying low, he should definitely be prioritized as a threat.

“What are you thinking so deeply about?”

As Johan was lost in thought, a voice from beside him reached his ears.

“…Violet.”

It was Violet Ratalen.

The daughter of the Ratalen Marquis family, and a woman who had feelings for Kasys. Yet strangely, she was showing deep interest in him.

“Right now, we’re riding, so please refrain from unnecessary conversation if you can.”

“Oh? Are you worried about me? No worries here. I wouldn’t make a rookie mistake of biting my tongue.”

Johan’s brow twitched. He had simply meant to say ‘don’t talk’, but how she managed to twist it into something else was beyond him.

“That isn’t what I meant. It seems you lack a bit of understanding, Violet.”

He said bluntly. It was a clear indication that he didn’t want to talk to her. Yet, Violet merely smiled and tilted her head.

“Hehe. You’re so dismissive. I find that somewhat endearing.”

Johan turned his gaze away and scrutinized Violet’s appearance. She was grinning, seemingly unreadable in her motives.

‘Didn’t she have a crush on Kasys?’

Johan understood that Violet Ratalen was infatuated with Kasys Lenokhnen. He couldn’t fathom why she was showing him such kindness and interest.

“So, what is it that you want to say?”

Violet raised both corners of her mouth.

“Actually, there’s a social party coming up soon. You, too, as an archmage, will participate. What do you say? Would you like to be my partner?”

At her words, Johan’s expression crinkled slightly.

“I already have a significant other.”

“Oh, you mean Princess Ferbache?”

After seeing Fransia’s actions yesterday, all the officials and knights had become aware of their relationship. She was certainly sharp enough to have heard about it.

Even so, Violet continued in a nonchalant manner.

“Of course, I know. That’s exactly why I’m making this request, asking you to be my partner.”

Johan narrowed his eyes and looked at Violet.

“I don’t think it’s appropriate to ask a man who already has a girlfriend to be a partner.”

“Hehe. After all, you aren’t even engaged yet, right?”

It was not a conversation that made sense. Johan sighed deeply and widened his eyes.

“Violet, I have a girlfriend, and I have no intention of betraying her. I’m unsure what tricks you’re trying to play, but if you’re thinking of sowing discord between me and her, you should give it up.”

He spoke firmly, infusing strength into his voice. With this level of assertiveness, she should have understood. Johan then decided it was better not to continue the conversation and bowed his head.

“I’ve made my position clear enough, so I trust you will understand. Now, if you’ll excuse me.”

“Wait─”

Before her sentence was finished, Johan turned his horse away to distance himself from Violet.

“…”

As he walked away, Violet shuddered.

“Aha.”

Not easily swayed, or simpler in speech, or even in appearance.

‘Indeed…’

She liked that.

Very much so.

‘I want to have him.’

Her tongue traced her lips.
