Chapter 33: Canbina Coast (3)
The royal villa that we arrived at in two to three days was, as expected, a fairly clean and spacious building.
Even though it is a villa, it is basically something used by the royal family, so of course it cannot be managed carelessly.
The royal villa was always kept clean by the resident manager, Ms. Maybelle.
Even if unannounced guests showed up unexpectedly, there were systems in place to handle them.
To take a small example, look at this bedroom.
For a room that hadn’t been used in at least a year, it was clean and the sheets and comforter looked like they hadn’t been washed in less than two days.
“Miss Arianna will have the use of room 202 here, and I will also be giving Miss Ellis, your maid, room 203.”
“Thank you, Ms. Maybelle.”
When I arrived at my private room, escorted by Ms. Maybelle, there was something familiar about the place, even though it was my first visit.
Well, that’s to be expected.
After all, this is the room where the main character of the original game, Sierra, stays.
The fact that I was now using this room, which is reserved for honored guests, meant that I was at least as important to Alex as she was in the original game.
Still, it’s nice to know that my hard work as a peacock has paid off, even if at one point I thought my efforts had gone for nothing.
“Any spare clothes, shoes, etc. are all in the closets and cabinets. If you need anything else, just ring the bell by your bed to summon me.”
“I look forward to seeing you during my short stay, Ms. Maybelle.”
“You can call me whatever you like, Ms. Ariana.”
“Then may I call you Maybelle?”
“Please do, Ms. Ariana.”
It’s still not common practice to omit honorifics from the outset, but many servants feel uncomfortable if you don’t.
“If by any chance you get a report of a demon attack, please come to my room immediately. You don’t have to knock, I’ll be ready to leave at any time.”
“Understood, Ms. Ariana, then you may rest easy.”
With a satisfied smile, I watched as Maybelle closed the door behind her and left, and then took a moment to unpack my things and take in the layout of the room.
I had to check to see if anything had changed from the game, or if the layout had changed at all.
Once I realized that neither the orientation of the room nor the positioning of the furniture had changed from the original game, I realized that there hadn’t been any significant changes.
In other words, monster attacks are more likely to come as scheduled.
Weak demons still crawl up from the beach from time to time, but they’re not dangerous enough for Alex and me to venture out.
Weak creatures can be dealt with by mere mortals who can’t use magic, as long as they stay calm.
But in a full-blown crisis, which will be coming in the next few days, my and Alex’s powers will be indispensable.
It’s a good thing I brought my own staff, because without it, I’ll not be able to use a wide area spell.
And who knows, I might need to use it tonight. After setting it up in a conspicuous place so that I could have it on me at any time, I began to unpack the rest of my things and put them in a closet or storage cabinet.
“Ah.”
As I was organizing my outfits and putting them in the closet, I noticed one item of clothing that caught my eye was already inside.
I immediately recognized the item at first glance, and took out the thin piece of fabric inside and carefully unfolded it.
“…Well, I suppose it’s only normal that I should have this.”
A pink bikini swimsuit with a slight pattern on it.
It was a summer outfit for the main character, made for coastal events and illustration collecting.
“…….”
It was a bold outfit that showed more skin than underwear, and I felt a little embarrassed for a moment.
It was a costume that didn’t make me feel anything when I put it on a game character, but it was incredibly embarrassing to think that I might wear it.
No, I wouldn’t wear it because, unlike in the original, I’m not here to play.
I’m here to help Alex fight off a demonic onslaught, and there’s no such thing as lazing around in a bathing suit.
Plus, the outfit is tailored to Sierra’s measurements, so it wouldn’t fit me.
….
…….
……A little bit of this would be fine.
I mean, I’m not really excited or anything, I just realized it’s now or never.
I mean, I’m going to be busy dealing with an army of demons starting tonight, so if not now, when else am I going to get to try it on?
And it’s not like I’m going to wear it and show it to anyone, it’s just that I’m curious about how Ariana would feel in it.
It’s just curiosity, curiosity.
With that thought in mind, I slowly unzipped the dress at the back of my neck to change.
And, about 20 minutes later.
“Wow, wow, wow….”
As I finished changing into my pink swimsuit, I couldn’t even get the words out of my mouth as I looked at myself in the full-length mirror.
It was bad enough that the costume itself didn’t have much fabric coverage, exposing all of my thighs and belly button.
Beyond that, what made the costume unhealthy was that it was a little too small for my body.
The costume was originally designed for Sierra, so it would have felt out of place on Ariana.
Sierra was designed to be a full-figured character, especially for a female-oriented game, so that she could be immersive.
On the other hand, Ariana, as the villainous heroine, tends to be the opposite of Sierra, so many parts of her appearance needed to be designed in reverse.
“…I wouldn’t show this to anyone else, even if I died.”
There’s something about wearing something that’s off-sized aside from everything else that makes me feel even sluttier than if I were wearing normal slutty clothes.
My breasts were poking out through the fabric, so it was kind of a funny thing, and it was kind of a slutty thing.
There was flesh sticking out beyond the cloth covering the chest, so it looked somewhat awkward and unsightly.
If I didn’t change quickly before anyone walked into the room and witnessed this….
“Lady Arianna, there’s a demon attack!”
“What?!”
“Prince Alexandros has already taken his sword and gone out first! Lady Ariana, hurry up and prepare to go out as well….”
I made eye contact with Maybelle, who had barged into my room to deliver an urgent report, and I had no choice but to stop as I placed my hand on my lower back to take off my swimsuit.
“…….”
“…….”
Despite the obvious urgency of the situation, Maybelle and I stood frozen in place for a moment, unable to say anything.
“…A demon?! That’s a big deal! Come on, I’ll hurry up and get ready before we head out!”
“…Yes, yes! Okay, I didn’t see anything and I’ll wait for you to come out!”
Maybelle gave me an awkward look and hurriedly closed the door, and I quickly put the dress I had taken off back on my body.
From then on, during my stay at the villa, Maybelle never once entered my room without knocking.
* * *
When I arrived at the scene, guided by Maybelle, I found that a giant crab-like creature had crawled ashore.
To give you an idea of its size, one claw alone could have crushed a human with no problem.
Giant crab Krebiel was one of the two named beasts that we had to deal with at this shoreline event.
“Ugh…!”
Alex was holding off the creature’s giant claws with one of his holy swords, somehow managing to keep it from coming ashore.
Apparently, he had maxed out his body enhancement with arcane magic.
Meanwhile, Elise and Dale had already followed Alex out, and were buying him some time as they fought off the mobs that were closing in on him.
Although neither of them could use magic, their combat abilities were above the average person.
“Haaaaaah!”
Alex’s holy sword glowed once, and Krebiel’s right claw bounced off of him once.
Thankfully, the claw didn’t crush Alex’s body, but his crisis was far from over.
Before he could recover from the strength he had expended, the opposite claw was moving to strike again, this time at his body.
“Danger, Alex!”
Dale shouted in warning as he caught up to the situation, but it was clear that injury was inevitable at this point.
That is, if I didn’t have the dark bomb I was preparing.
A single explosion rang out, and the pieces that made up Krebiel’s left claw went flying in all directions.
With a single spell, more than half of Krebiel’s left claw was gone, and it wasn’t about to pounce on a defenseless Alex.
I guess we’ll have crab soup for dinner tonight.
