Chapter 5:
Chapter 5: One Sword!:
Outside, in the Marsh Forest.
“Mm… huh…”
“Haa… haa…”
Ye Qingxue was covered in sweat, her chest rising and falling violently. Her fair skin bore several bloodstains, making her look even more fragile yet stunningly beautiful.
She gripped a steel longsword tightly in her hand. The blade was stained with blood but still gleamed coldly under the light.
“Not good.”
“A fourth-tier demonic beast… a Blood Wolf!”
“Why did it come to the outer region?”
Ye Qingxue bit her silver teeth, her beautiful eyes filled with tension.
She had only been hunting low-tier demonic beasts at the forest’s edge to exchange them for cultivation resources from the Holy Land. She had never dared to venture deeper.
But today, something unexpected happened.
And now, she was in danger.
Before her, a massive Blood Wolf locked its gaze onto her, its blood-red tongue licking its razor-sharp fangs. A vicious glow flickered in its emerald-green eyes.
The beast stood over two meters tall, its body covered in crimson fur, radiating a terrifying, bloodthirsty aura.
It was a fourth-tier demonic beast, a Blood Wolf!
This kind of creature usually only roamed the depths of the Marsh Forest. Why was it here?
Ye Qingxue was full of questions, but she had no time to think.
Because the Blood Wolf had already attacked!
“Roar!!!”
The Blood Wolf let out a deafening roar, shaking the surroundings and startling flocks of birds into the sky.
The next moment, its massive body turned into a crimson blur, lunging at Ye Qingxue with terrifying speed.
“So fast!!!”
Ye Qingxue’s pupils shrank. Her heart sank—she knew she was in danger.
But she reacted quickly, twisting her delicate body to narrowly avoid the Blood Wolf’s lethal strike.
If she had been just a second slower, the beast’s claws would have torn her in half.
“Boom!”
The Blood Wolf crashed heavily into the ground, creating a massive tremor.
“Huff…”
Ye Qingxue let out a breath of relief after dodging the attack.
But before she could recover, the Blood Wolf launched another assault.
“Swish!”
Its razor-sharp claws slashed toward her with terrifying force, bringing a foul, bloody wind with them.
And this time, it was even faster!
Ye Qingxue didn’t dare hesitate—she quickly raised her sword to block.
“Clang!”
A sharp metallic clang echoed as a tremendous force transferred through her sword, numbing her hands. She staggered backward uncontrollably.
“Ugh…!”
“Not good…”
“It’s too strong…”
“A sixth-tier demonic beast?!”
No, this Blood Wolf was far stronger than she had imagined!
She was just an outer disciple from a poor family, with limited resources. Her cultivation was only at the early-stage Qi Sea Realm.
But this Blood Wolf was a genuine fourth-tier beast, equivalent to a late-stage Divine Sea Realm cultivator!
The gap between them was an entire major realm!
If she fought head-on, she would be crushed instantly.
“Wait… I can use my movement technique to hold it off…”
“Then find an opening to escape!”
Ye Qingxue quickly formulated a plan.
She focused on dodging, looking for a way out.
But the Blood Wolf was too fast, its attacks relentless. She couldn’t find a single opportunity to escape.
“Am I… really going to die here?”
Despair filled her heart.
She didn’t want to die.
She still had unavenged grudges, unfulfilled debts.
“Hmph…”
“Then I’ll fight to the death!”
She bit her silver teeth. If she was going to die, she would at least go down fighting!
“Swish!”
Seizing a brief opening, she thrust her sword toward the Blood Wolf’s throat.
“Roar!”
Sensing the danger, the Blood Wolf twisted its massive body in an attempt to dodge.
“Slash!”
The sword pierced into its shoulder.
Blood sprayed into the air.
“Awwooo!!!”
The Blood Wolf howled in pain, its eyes filled with unrestrained fury.
It never expected this weak human to actually injure it!
Now, it wanted to devour her completely.
“Roar!”
The Blood Wolf, now enraged, lunged at her again, its attacks becoming even fiercer and faster.
Ye Qingxue couldn’t dodge in time.
The residual shockwave of the attack sent her flying backward.
She struggled to get up, but her body refused to move.
“Sigh…”
“Senior Brother Su Chen…”
“I still haven’t repaid my debt to you…”
She looked at the Blood Wolf approaching step by step, her eyes filled with fear and unwillingness.
At that moment.
A cold scoff echoed through the air.
A sword light flashed.
It was as fast as lightning, as unstoppable as a tidal wave.
“Slash!”
The massive Blood Wolf was cleaved in two, its blood drenching the ground.
Ye Qingxue stared blankly at the scene before her.
Who had saved her?
She lifted her head, only to see a white-robed youth holding a longsword, turning around calmly.
His face was as handsome as a jade sculpture, his eyes as bright as the stars, and his lips carried a faint smile.
He looked like an immortal descended from heaven, making people feel at ease just by looking at him.
Her delicate face instantly turned red.
“S-Senior Brother Su Chen?” Ye Qingxue gasped.
Su Chen walked up to her with an easy smile. “Are you alright?”
He looked at Ye Qingxue and couldn’t help but admire her beauty. Compared to Liu Ruyan, she was on a completely different level.
Honestly, he had no idea what the previous Su Chen was thinking—ignoring such a stunning girl, instead wasting time on that spoiled brat Liu Ruyan.
“Senior Brother Su…”
“I… I’m fine…”
“Thank you, Senior Brother Su.” Ye Qingxue shook her head, her face pale yet carrying a soft blush.
She felt incredibly lucky.
To have encountered Senior Brother Su Chen here…
And for him to save her again…
“As long as you’re okay.”
“Here, take this healing pill.”
“Consume it now.”
Ye Qingxue was momentarily startled.
She wanted to refuse—it was such a precious pill…
But before she could protest, Su Chen gently placed it between her lips, his actions carrying an air of unquestionable authority.
Su Chen smiled. “Rest here for now. I’ll take care of this beast’s corpse.”
“Mm…”
Ye Qingxue nodded, watching his back as he walked away.
Her heart was pounding wildly. Her face felt burning hot.
Su Chen reached the Blood Wolf’s corpse and casually swung his sword.
A blood-red beast core flew out from the wolf’s head.
It was the size of a fist, emitting a strong, bloody aura. Clearly, it was no ordinary item.
“A fourth-tier beast core?”
“Not bad.”
Su Chen’s lips curled into a faint smirk as he handed it to Ye Qingxue.
But this time, no matter what, Ye Qingxue refused to accept it.
In the end, it was only after Su Chen firmly insisted, telling her he would be angry if she didn’t take it, that Ye Qingxue finally, reluctantly accepted it.
“Senior Brother Su Chen… thank you for saving me.” Ye Qingxue looked at him and spoke sincerely.
“It was nothing. No need to be so polite.” Su Chen replied calmly.
