I the King of bandits of the East Sea

Chapter 136: Chapter 136: The Axe Emperor's Righteous Backstab

Sig's pirate ship had already left Loguetown's port, sailing toward the direction of Reverse Mountain.

However, at this moment, the mountain bandits on the deck were looking at Stussy with a mix of awe and fear.

Stussy, having just gone through a battle, had several wounds of varying sizes on her body, looking somewhat disheveled.

The sleeves of her arms were torn slightly, revealing slender, jade-like forearms.

Who would have thought that the ship's cleaner could use these seemingly delicate arms to block Vice Admiral Momousagi's sword strikes?

"Stussy, come with me."

Sig, with his hands behind his back, led the way into the cabin.

This simple sentence made Stussy's heart tremble.

Following Sig inside, she saw him sit down on a chair, lightly tapping the armrest as he calmly looked at her.

"Stussy, you were quite proactive this time..."

Sig said in a neutral tone.

Originally, he hadn't wanted to interact much with Stussy. Facing such a dangerous woman, if he slipped up, it could be the end for him.

But his recent performance in Loguetown should have intimidated her somewhat.

Plus, the newly acquired Iruma card gave Sig a bit of confidence.

"That's right. Besides cleaning, I felt I should contribute more..."

Stussy's expression was sincere as she looked directly into Sig's eyes.

"Is that so? You did well this time."

A faint smile appeared on Sig's face.

He stood up, hands still behind his back, and looked out the porthole, speaking lightly:

"But you and Momousagi seemed to get along quite well..."

Out of the corner of his eye, Sig noticed a look of surprise flash across Stussy's face. She tilted her head slightly, appearing confused.

"Mr. Sig?"

Stussy seemed completely unaware of what Sig was implying.

This made Sig's heart stir with suspicion, but on the surface, he simply smiled slightly and looked directly at Stussy:

"Never mind."

"You can go now."

Watching Stussy leave the cabin, Sig frowned slightly.

He had always been wary of Stussy.

Especially when he was trapped in Crocodile's sandstorm, isolated from the outside, he had worried that this CP0 agent might have made contact with the Marines.

However, Stussy's acting was flawless, and Sig hadn't noticed anything unusual.

What he had noticed was Momousagi's behavior.

Stussy was an acting master, but Vice Admiral Momousagi wasn't.

Momousagi was, after all, a Marine Vice Admiral and a future Admiral candidate. Yet after fighting Stussy for so long, Stussy only seemed to have suffered minor injuries.

Another thing was that when the sandstorm dissipated and Momousagi ordered the Marines to pretend to pursue, Sig had noticed, out of the corner of his eye, Momousagi's gaze briefly falling on Stussy.

Of course, these were just speculations, and Sig had only wanted to test Stussy.

But based on Stussy's reaction, Sig still couldn't make an accurate judgment.

"This woman is truly terrifying..."

......

Meanwhile, in Stussy's room.

A thin layer of sweat had formed on her forehead.

"Was I too reckless this time?"

"Has he really figured it out? Or is he just trying to trick me?"

Stussy couldn't help but recall the details from Loguetown.

When they had first arrived in Loguetown, Sig had directly offered her freedom.

When she had volunteered to cover their retreat, Sig had subtly quickened his pace, almost as if he was deliberately trying to leave her behind.

At the time, she had thought it was a good opportunity...

But now, looking back, those two anomalies seemed like traps, deliberately set to give Stussy a chance to pass information to Momousagi.

And Sig's behavior when facing Crocodile had also been strange.

He only dodged and never counterattacked.

It was almost as if he was showing off his Observation Haki skills.

Observation Haki was an ability that sharpened one's senses. Given Sig's terrifying performance, it wasn't impossible that he had noticed Stussy's actions.

But the key point was that since boarding the ship, Stussy had never seen Sig display such abilities. Yet, right after she had secretly passed information, he had suddenly shown off.

"Was he doing this for my benefit? Hinting that he had noticed my actions but chose not to stop me?"

"Was Sig deliberately allowing me to pass information? Was this also part of his plan?"

The more she thought about it, the more her thoughts became tangled.

Stussy had personally experienced Sig's layers of schemes, and now every action of his seemed filled with mystery.

.......

Some time later.

Sitting in the captain's quarters, Sig suddenly felt the ship's deck shake noticeably, as if the ship had picked up speed.

"Ocean currents? Are we approaching Reverse Mountain?"

As this thought crossed his mind, Sig heard a commotion outside.

Stepping out, he saw the mountain bandits on the deck, weapons in hand, surrounding two people with mocking expressions.

The two stood back-to-back, holding their swords, facing off against the mountain bandits, but their bravado seemed hollow.

Johnny and Yosaku?

Sig was stunned.

"Boss Sig, these two bounty hunters tried to escape!"

"Not only did they try to escape, but they also ran to Loguetown's central square. If Morgan hadn't caught them, they might have really gotten away."

"Our ship entered the ocean currents leading to Reverse Mountain, which woke these two up..."

As Sig approached, one of the mountain bandits explained.

"Morgan backstabbed them again? Brought them back? Is he addicted to this?"

Sig was taken aback.

He had knocked out these two bounty hunters and brought them aboard to prevent them from exposing his identity, but it had been a last resort.

Later, with everything that had happened in Loguetown, he had completely forgotten about them.

He hadn't expected them to end up back on his ship.

"The Sword God and the Blade Saint... What use are they?"

As this thought crossed Sig's mind, his expression suddenly changed.

He saw a burly, golden-haired man wielding a giant axe, moving silently as he once again snuck up behind Johnny and Yosaku.

Two dull thuds later, the Sword God and the Blade Saint were knocked out for the third time.

"Heh heh heh..." Morgan had a strange smile on his face.

Seeing this, Sig frowned.

This was the third time.

Morgan's strength was mediocre. He had originally been nothing more than a strong Marine recruit, and even the mountain bandits under Sig were mostly stronger than him.

Sig now had a basic grasp of Observation Haki, but he had almost missed Morgan's "justice backstab"...

This Morgan... something's off. Has he really become the Axe Emperor?
