Chapter 29: God, Come.
Slap.
In the tense atmosphere, a crisp slap suddenly sounded.
Stussy appeared in front of Yuriko Takagi and sent her flying, causing her to spit out a mouthful of blood.
In this sudden scene, Zero and the others remained calm, but Souichiro Takagi and the others' expressions changed drastically.
Just as Souichiro was about to speak, his vision went black as he looked up to see Zero.
He didn't know who Zero was, but he felt an immense pressure, as though a mountain were pressing down on him, making it difficult to breathe.
"Kneel down!" Zero commanded, releasing a terrifying aura.
Though it wasn't Conqueror's Haki, the aura of a strong individual burst forth. Souichiro, despite being in a high position, was still just an ordinary person and couldn't withstand it at all. With a thud, he knelt on the ground, his face pale.
Not only Souichiro, but the subordinates behind him also knelt uncontrollably.
"Damn it! Who are you? Why should I kneel?" a young subordinate shouted, his face flushed with anger.
But as soon as he finished speaking, Zero was in front of him.
"Disrespecting His Highness is unacceptable and deserves punishment!"
Then, Zero punched him, killing the young man instantly, and blood splattered.
The brutal scene, along with the power displayed, left everyone stunned.
Even Souichiro and Yuriko couldn't help but widen their eyes, pale with fear. Saya's earlier words to persuade them resurfaced in their minds.
Could it be that these people truly came from another world?!
They couldn't believe it, but regret was starting to sink in.
"Your Highness, should I kill them all?" Stussy asked Kaos softly, her tone ice-cold.
Though Saya Takagi was serving Kaos, her family had no right to threaten him. After all, Saya was not truly Kaos's woman, merely a maid.
That's right—just a maid.
And Kaos's status was far higher than that of an emperor.
Threatening Kaos? They truly didn't know their place.
Hearing Stussy's words, Saya's face turned pale and she hurriedly knelt before Kaos, pleading, "Your Highness, please have mercy on my parents."
Looking at Saya's pitiful face, Kaos's expression didn't change at all.
Was he angry?
No, he wasn't.
They were just ordinary people, and this was another world. If someone in the world of the Pirates had done this knowing his status, it would have been a grave offense to the majesty of the Celestial Dragons, and he would be angry. But now, he felt nothing.
Those who act in ignorance are not guilty. However, the majesty of the Celestial Dragons must not be questioned.
After a moment of silence, Kaos ordered calmly, "Zero, bring everyone out. Those who are willing to come with us, let them; those who refuse, deal with them on the spot."
"As for these two," he looked at Saya Takagi's parents.
Since Saya had recently served him, and although his thinking after years as a Celestial Dragon had changed, he was not completely devoid of compassion.
"Exempt them from the death penalty."
"But they will not escape punishment."
"I leave it to you, Stussy."
With her background in the CP organization and her experience managing underground forces, Stussy knew how to make people feel the maximum pain.
"Yes, Your Highness," Stussy said, a smile appearing on her face. She would make sure to make them suffer without killing them. She looked at Yuriko and noticed her shape and appearance, a plan forming in her mind.
Saya could only remain silent.
Yuriko and Souichiro no longer resisted. The power gap was insurmountable, and both of them deeply regretted not listening to Saya's earlier warning.
With the command issued, Zero started moving.
"Anyone who wants to leave, step forward now."
Everyone looked at one another before quickly stepping out without hesitation, fearing they'd be too slow and meet the same fate as the young man.
Soon after, they arrived back at camp.
As soon as they returned, Sengoku came to Kaos, frowning. "Your Highness Kaos, we have recruited nearly all survivors in this city. Some are located too far away to reach quickly. Originally, I planned to start gradually clearing the zombies."
"But just now, some CP members reported information they obtained while investigating. It seems many zombies nearby are converging in this direction."
"Oh?" Kaos raised an eyebrow, surprised. "Are you certain?"
Zombies moving toward them? This clearly suggested something or someone was behind the scenes manipulating them. Could there be an advanced zombie controlling the others?
"Yes," Sengoku nodded with a serious expression. "This city is massive, and clearing out all the zombies would take considerable time. Since zombies move toward sound, I thought of making a massive noise to draw them all in and wipe them out in one go."
"But if we do this, it will carry significant risks, given the sheer number of zombies that will converge."
It was a good plan, but Kaos was here, so any risk had to be sanctioned by him.
But Kaos nodded without hesitation. "It's an excellent plan. Let's proceed. The sooner the zombies in this city are eliminated, the sooner we can move out. We can use this city as a base to conquer the entire world!"
The global conscription was approaching, and this time, the conscription would focus on the army, numbering in the hundreds of thousands. Once ready, these soldiers would be deployed to this world. Establishing a solid foothold was essential—and this camp wasn't enough.
"Yes, Your Highness," Sengoku replied and promptly arranged for people to set up every stereo and speaker they had gathered in the camp at elevated positions and to play loud sounds in loops.
Within the camp, due to recruitment efforts, nearly five or six thousand people—men and women, old and young—were gathered to assist the Marines in setting up.
Suddenly, they heard blaring sounds coming from every direction and widened their eyes in shock.
"What's going on?"
"Such loud noises! Won't this attract zombies?"
"Wait…it seems like they're doing this to draw zombies on purpose!"
Rei Miyamoto covered her ears, exclaiming in disbelief, "Are they insane? This noise will bring zombies from all directions."
"Crazy? Perhaps not," Saya Takagi said, shaking her head thoughtfully. "It seems His Highness plans to use this method to eliminate all the zombies."
"Eliminate all of them? You must be joking!" Rei Miyamoto, though she had witnessed Kaos's formidable strength, found it hard to believe. After all, the city held millions of zombies. Even if they weren't gods, surely no one could handle that many.
Others in the camp shared Rei's disbelief.
"Oh my god, do they have a death wish?"
"If they want to die, leave us out of it. I thought they were powerful, but they're lunatics."
"Can we leave if we want to?"
"Oh no, I can see them—zombies, so many zombies!"
The panic spread like wildfire.
As the voices grew louder, Kaos frowned slightly.
Stussy immediately asked, "Your Highness, should I silence them?"
"No need," Kaos said dismissively. "It's a good chance to test out my new powers."
"New powers?" Stussy wondered.
But the next moment, her eyes widened in shock.
A brilliant golden light radiated from Kaos, drawing everyone's attention.
As everyone looked, they were mesmerized.
Some people even slapped themselves, muttering as if in a dream, "Am I dreaming? Has God descended?"
Everyone saw it.
From behind Kaos, enormous white wings slowly unfurled.
With a gentle flick, Kaos rose into the air.
Holy light streamed down, illuminating him.
Under the glow of the holy light, he appeared noble, holy, and magnificent.
A single thought filled everyone's mind.
"God has descended!"
