Chapter 19.1: First Time in the Scripture Pavilion?
The night passed without incident.
The next day, before the sun had risen, Li Xun opened his eyes early.
After a brief wash, he set out for the Scripture Pavilion.
In about two quarters of an hour, the Scripture Pavilion came into view.
It was a ten-story pagoda, each floor standing a hundred meters tall, making the entire structure a towering thousand meters.
From a distance, it resembled a mountain, quietly standing there.
As Li Xun approached the Scripture Pavilion, a purple-robed elder suddenly appeared, blocking his path.
The elder glanced at Li Xun and said calmly, “Identity token!”
This was the rule for entering the Scripture Pavilion, and Li Xun was well-prepared, quickly handing over his identification token.
“Hmm?” The elder took the token and scanned it with his spiritual sense.
His brows furrowed, and he looked at Li Xun with surprise. “Is this your first time in the Scripture Pavilion since becoming an inner disciple?”
The identification token was important, not only for entering the sect’s protective formations but also for accepting sect missions.
Upon completing these missions, the earned contribution points would be stored in the token.
Additionally, each visit to the Scripture Pavilion was recorded in the token, including which techniques were studied.
Li Xun had already reached the peak of the Qi Condensation realm, yet his token had no record of him entering the Scripture Pavilion.
This shocked the elder, as it implied that Li Xun had reached the peak of the Qi Condensation realm solely by practicing the cultivation technique provided to outer disciples, without any advanced techniques from the inner sect.
“Yes,” Li Xun nodded.
“Impressive perseverance,” the elder remarked with a peculiar expression.
Though it was praise, there was a hint of bewilderment in his eyes.
After all, few would stubbornly stick to the basic cultivation technique given to outer sect disciples when better options were available.
“You may enter,” the elder said, returning the jade token to Li Xun. “Since this is your first time in the Scripture Pavilion as an inner disciple, you may choose two techniques from the middle three floors.”
“Thank you, Elder.” Li Xun cupped his hands in thanks and turned to enter the Scripture Pavilion.
Since he had arrived early, the vast pavilion was almost empty.
Li Xun didn’t linger on the lower three floors, quickly ascending the stairs until he reached the middle three floors.
The “middle three floors” referred to the fourth, fifth, and sixth floors, excluding the tenth floor, which was only accessible to the sect leader and elders.
The fourth to sixth floors were where inner disciples could select their techniques.
The fourth floor mainly housed books on alchemy, weapon forging, formations, and various arcane knowledge that inner disciples could study.
Li Xun glanced briefly before heading up to the fifth floor.
The fifth floor was different. It was filled with cultivation techniques, while the sixth floor contained various martial arts, spells, and other combat techniques.
“As for combat techniques, I already have the Azure Dragon Halberd. I’ll need to find a suitable Halberd technique. But for a cultivation technique…” Li Xun pondered as he browsed the bookshelves on the fifth floor.
