I Suddenly Became Rich, But I Have No Idea How to Spend the Money

Chapter 51

I returned to the hotel late at night and fell into a deep sleep, only to wake up thirty minutes before checkout time.

“Huh? What time is it…?

Wait, oh no!!! What!? No way!!”

Uncharacteristically flustered, I rushed to take a quick shower, fixed my hair, grabbed my things, and bolted out of the room to check out.

I barely made it in time, but at least I did. Feeling relieved, I pulled my car out of the hotel’s parking lot and headed home.

My i8 was parked in the underground lot of Hotel Nikko Osaka.

As I drove, my university campus came into view. Parking my i8 in front of my apartment building, I made my way up to my room.

Since I’d been too busy the previous day to check, I decided to look through my mailbox. Fortunately, there were no urgent letters, but I did find a missed delivery notice.

It was for the suits I had ordered in Ginza with Hitomi. I had asked them to ship the finished pieces once they were ready, but I had completely forgotten about it until now.

The pickup deadline happened to be today.

“Oh, nice! Talk about luck!” I muttered to myself as I quickly called the courier service to let them know I’d be picking up the package in person.

Back in my apartment, I grabbed my large Rimowa suitcase and started packing—throwing in a travel set, my laptop, and some books for university assignments. Even after stuffing it with everything I could think of, the 85L Rimowa still had plenty of space left.

“Looks like I can fit some suits and shoes in here too.”

Satisfied with my choice, I hauled the heavy suitcase to my car. Since I was expecting to carry a lot of luggage, I switched from my i8 to my LX. I also loaded an extra empty Rimowa suitcase into the trunk, just in case.

I drove to the courier’s distribution center, where I provided my address, showed my ID, and received my suits—about ten of them, along with some coats and four pairs of shoes. I packed them into my suitcase, but there was still room to spare.

That’s when the staff at the counter informed me that I had ten Louis Vuitton trunk cases waiting for pickup as well.

Even with the LX, fitting ten trunk cases was out of the question. I decided to accept the delivery but have them air-shipped directly to Macau instead.

With all my errands in Japan wrapped up, I called Emma.

“Emma? It’s Kirishima. I’m planning to head back to Macau tomorrow. Are there any flights available?”

“Understood, Boss.

There’s already an aircraft stationed at Itami Airport. It’s a short-haul executive jet reserved for Sands executives. It’s on the smaller side, but you’re welcome to use it.”

“Got it. Thanks as always, Emma.”

“No need for thanks, Boss. I’ll have everything prepared for departure. Let me know when you’ve decided on the exact time.”

“Let’s go with a 5:00 PM departure.”

“Understood.

I’ll make the arrangements accordingly. Please arrive at least thirty minutes before departure.”

“Roger that.”

After speaking with Emma, I tried calling Hitomi, but she seemed to be somewhere without cell service.

I sent her a message on LINE asking her to call me when she was available, then locked my phone.

Now that everything was taken care of, I finally had some free time. I decided to do a bit of window shopping.

“Might as well pick up some souvenirs for Emma and the other executives.”

I headed to Hankyu Umeda.

The basement of the Hankyu department store was packed with carefully selected specialty products from all over Japan.

First, I made my way to Isshindo, a famous shop known for its fruit daifuku. It was a favorite of both mine and Hitomi’s. Naturally, I bought one of each flavor.

Next, I stopped by Baton d’Or, a luxury version of Pocky that was immensely popular. I grabbed every variety available.

Then, I swung by Moncher, the shop famous for its Dojima Roll. That one was for my own dinner. Just one roll this time.

For the final touch, I visited Tsujirihei Honten and stocked up on a mountain of matcha daifuku.

Somewhere along the way, a staff member from Hankyu’s exclusive sales department started assisting me. Before I knew it, they had suggested a home visit for future purchases, and I had been signed up for a Hankyu American Express credit card.

Thanks to that, the staff helped carry my mountain of shopping bags to my car.

With my souvenir shopping complete, I pulled out of the New Hankyu Hotel parking lot.

(Side note: Hankyu Umeda Main Store doesn’t have a dedicated parking lot, so you have to use one of the nearby lots.)

Feeling good, I spontaneously decided to head to the St. Regis Hotel Osaka.

I had always been aware of the hotel in Honmachi but had never actually stayed there. It was one of those places I had wanted to visit at least once.

Now that I had bought an apartment in the Honmachi area, I figured I would have even fewer chances to stay there in the future.

Since I had time to spare, I thought, why not? And so, I decided to book a stay.

Upon arriving at the St. Regis, a doorman smoothly guided my car into place.

“Are you checking in with us today?” he asked in a pleasantly resonant baritone voice. It reminded me of the Hôtel de Paris in Monaco.

“No, I haven’t made a reservation yet. I’d like to book a room now.”

“Understood, sir. Please allow me a moment.”

He immediately started communicating through his earpiece.

“We do have availability, so we can accommodate you right away.”

As he informed me of this, another staff member appeared, pushing a large luggage cart.

“May I take your bags for you? If you hand me the car keys, we’ll handle everything from here.”

It had been a long time since I experienced valet parking in Japan, and I found myself deeply impressed.

I handed over my car keys and stepped out, letting them take care of my luggage.
