Chapter 27: Concise and Valuable Content
“It’s unexpectedly very cute,” Lin Sheng pushed his glasses and attempted to get a clearer look at Larvitar.
Larvitar’s body was mostly covered in a rock-like gray-green skin. It had a long blunt horn on its head, red eyes, short arms, a red scale covering its abdomen, and a black mark resembling a tear below its eyes.
“The skin feels quite rough to the touch,” Chen Yun gently touched Larvitar’s head and felt the coarse texture on his palm. “Larvitar is a Rock-type Pokémon. They are usually born in the underground and inhabit cave and mountainous areas, so naturally, their skin isn’t smooth.”
“Moreover, once they evolve into their final form as adults, they will be covered in armor-like shells, making them like moving heavy armored vehicles,” Guxin explained with a smile. Even though they looked cute, Larvitar wasn’t just about being adorable.
Heavily armored vehicles? Lin Sheng looked at the petite Larvitar and was amazed.
Seemingly remembering something, Lin Sheng took out his Pokédex and aimed it at Larvitar.
“Beep~ Larvitar, Rock/Ground type, Rock Skin Pokémon.
Ability: Stamina
Moves: Tackle, Rock Throw, Leer, Dragon Dance, Stomp
Born deep underground, they live by eating earth. After consuming a mountain, they will sleep to grow.” The mechanical synthesized voice of the Pokédex echoed in the ears of the three.
Goodness! Lin Sheng was flabbergasted. Five moves! Besides the fully evolved powerhouse Diancie, Larvitar had the most moves.
The Pokédex entry was also outrageous. Eating a whole mountain?
“Awakening two inherited moves, and one of them is even Dragon Dance. This Larvitar is indeed remarkable,” Guxin raised his eyebrows. He hadn’t expected this Larvitar to awaken two inherited moves already.
“Boss, is it really an earth eater?” Although Chen Yun didn’t fully understand, he knew enough to realize that a Larvitar with five moves was impressive! So, Chen Yun was more satisfied now.
“Saying ‘earth eater’ isn’t entirely accurate. Larvitar has a voracious appetite, and it requires a lot of nutrients to grow,” Guxin explained with a smile. “So, wild Larvitar typically ‘eat earth’ to survive. Of course, they’re not actually eating earth; they’re absorbing nutrients from the soil to grow quickly.”
“As for Larvitar eating a whole mountain, it’s an example. So, Mr. Chen, you should be mentally prepared. This little guy is a big eater,” Guxin teased Chen Yun. Among all the Pokémon, Larvitar’s appetite was quite substantial. After all, it needed a lot of nutrition to evolve into Salamence.
As everyone knew, while Legendary Pokémon were powerful when fully evolved, they also required far more resources and had a longer growth process than other Pokémon.
“You can rest assured about this. I won’t treat Larvitar poorly,” Chen Yun replied with a faint smile. He exuded a composed and sophisticated demeanor.
As Chen Yun confidently declared, “I won’t let Larvitar go hungry,” he mentally added, “Larvitar will be my precious.”
Ding-ling~
Suddenly, the doorbell rang.
“Welcome, oh?” Guxin nodded apologetically to Chen Yun and Lin Sheng and turned towards the entrance. However, the sight that greeted him was two familiar figures.
Mhm, it’s them…
“Miss Chu, why are you looking at me like that?” Guxin blinked his eyes, a bit bewildered by the slightly embarrassed and angry look on Chu Kelian’s face.
Chen Yun glanced at the door and saw the girl from the video last night. He turned back to continue bonding with Larvitar.
“Boss! You’re way too much! You’ve ruined my image!” Chu Kelian exclaimed.
“Are you referring to the video?” Guxin blinked, understanding her expression now.
“But I did ask for your opinion at the time, and you said it was fine,” Guxin innocently explained.
Indeed, before posting the video, he had specifically asked for Chu Kelian and Lin Sheng’s consent. After receiving their approval, Guxin posted the video. Otherwise, he would have pixelated them. Lin Sheng had no objections, and Chu Kelian, who was exhilarated from obtaining Torchic and Trapinch, didn’t think much about it and generously agreed.
However, Chu Kelian hadn’t considered that her performance at the time was a bit… “low.”
“How sly! Boss, you’ve truly hurt my heart. I trusted you so much!” Chu Kelian complained.
“Um… Miss Chu, please don’t be like this. Others might easily misunderstand,” Guxin tried to explain.
“I don’t care! Boss, you’ve deceived such an innocent and pure university student,” Chu Kelian retorted.
“…,”
Not wanting to listen to her friend’s nonsense, Bai Qianqian rolled her eyes and walked towards Lin Sheng.
“Beep~ Larvitar…” Bai Qianqian recorded Larvitar’s data, looking curiously at the little green dragon.
“It sounds quite impressive in the Pokédex, capable of eating mountains. Could that be a bit exaggerated?” Chu Kelian, who had also approached, recorded Larvitar’s data, voicing her doubts.
After all, Larvitar’s appearance was similar to her own Torchic’s, so could this little one really eat a whole mountain?
“Larvitar is a quasi-Legendary Pokémon. It’s very powerful,” Lin Sheng responded with a hint of envy. His cousin’s luck was truly unbelievable!
“What’s a quasi-legendary Pokémon?” Chu Kelian was puzzled, exchanging a glance with Bai Qianqian. Both of them seemed bewildered.
“It’s a category of Pokémon that’s just below Legendary Pokémon. They…” Lin Sheng tried to recall Guxin’s explanation earlier, but he found it hard to put into words.
“???” Chu Kelian was completely baffled. She was even more confused.
“In simpler terms, this Larvitar is priced at 60 million,” Lin Sheng explained. He didn’t know how to elaborate further.
Did it need any more eloquent words?
The price of 60 million alone was enough to summarize everything. After all, Chu Kelian and Bai Qianqian were “veteran” customers by now. Guxin listened in silence. Although crude, it was succinct and effectively demonstrated Larvitar’s value.
“What did you say???” Chu Kelian looked at Lin Sheng with a puzzled expression, and Bai Qianqian was equally astonished.
Sixty million?
