Chapter 250: Pangu
"I am listening." Ray withdrew his finger, which had been about to point at the old woman on the screen.
Xiao Yu collapsed to the ground, her skin glistening with sweat while uncontrollable fear etched across her face.
"I will tell you everything."
"Okay." Ray settled onto his throne and beckoned for her to continue, a faint smile tugging at the corner of his mouth.
"According to legend, before our realm was created, it resembled an ordinary universe—filled with astral bodies and cosmic clusters. However, all of that changed when Pangu, the creator of all beings, emerged."
"Pangu, huh?" Ray paused. "Eerily similar to the myths from our own fiction, isn't it?"
"Yes, Pangu slashed with his sword, uniting all the cosmic clusters into a single entity that became our world. He is the creator god of us all, and it is said that even the Heavenly Dao is merely a byproduct of his power."
Xiao Yu rushed out the words.
"A byproduct…" Ray's eyes narrowed. They might not know, he thought, but the universe's core is essentially the Heavenly Dao—the same force under a different name. The laws and physics of this world were all governed by it.

Once a universal being connected with the core, they became the Heavenly Dao itself. Their strength would surge exponentially, but the true danger lay in their special move of Universal Detachment—a power that unnerved Ray even right now. This was the sole reason he was here in the first place.
"Hmm. Pangu… Pangu…"
Ray muttered this name, a terrifying idea already brewing in his head.
"I hope this is not true, or my plans will be thwarted."
Narrowing his eyes, Ray had already decided to push his plan forward faster. The only reason he had been proceeding slowly and steadily until now was entirely because he had been in seclusion, with no urgency in his heart.
But if this thought was true, it would put him in quite the predicament, and he didn't want to face that—at least not yet.
Then, he laid his eyes on the woman again.
"What do you want from me?" she spoke while shielding herself.
"Your master can live."
Ray waved his hand again, and a portal appeared, from which the old woman fell to the ground.
"Thank you."
She immediately bowed to the ground, even as clear humiliation showed on her face.
Ray looked at them with a silent gaze.
"Relationships can really make one bend their knees, huh."
This cold-faced woman could also cry—a human emotion is always intriguing.
No matter if it was this universe or another, it was all the same.
After some time, Xiao Yu froze on the spot. Checking her master's body, a look of despair gradually appeared on her face. Then, she looked at Ray again, a hint of resentment flashing in her eyes—only to disappear as quickly as it had come.
"Can you heal her?"
"What do you mean, heal her?" Ray said cluelessly. "I already fulfilled your condition. You mean there's another condition I have to fulfill?"
"You…" She ground her teeth.
But she was helpless against this monster who considered the Heavenly Tribulation a walk in the park, and the four guardian beasts had been easily taken out. Besides, she and her disciple were now prisoners.
"What do I have to do to heal my master?"
"Hmm, I haven't thought of that. What should I make you do?" Ray mumbled with a clueless expression.
Seeing this, Xiao Yu was dumbfounded.
Is he doing this on a whim!? A seething rage rose in her heart, but just a glance from Ray made it feel as if a cold bucket of water had been poured over her.
"Alright, the condition for you is to betray the entire cultivation world and become our Heavenly Dao Killing Sect's elder. What about it?"
"Okay, I accept," she said without any hesitation.
"Haha, good, good."
Ray nodded and glanced at the old lady. Instantly, the remnants of his attack, infused with principles, turned into a dark swirling mass and lifted out of her body before vanishing into the air.
The old woman groggily opened her eyes and looked at her disciple, whose face was full of tears.
"What happened, Yun'er?"
"Master." Xiao Yu broke down in tears and hugged her.
It was quite a beautiful sight—the reunion of master and disciple. Especially since she was a beauty, and Ray simply feasted his eyes on it.
"You want to cry too?" He looked at the other woman in the room. "What's your name?"
"Shi Lin," she said hurriedly, terror in her eyes.
"Haha." Ray shook his head and freed her body from his bind. His figure gradually vanished from the room, leaving a parting word behind:
"After you collect yourself, come and become an elder. Serve the sect well. From now on, your life belongs to the sect."
…
Ray entered his secluded chamber and spoke lightly:
"Show me the battlefield right now."
A mirror appeared in front of him. At first glance, it looked ordinary, but within the glass, a terrifying scene played—countless beings fighting atop the river of time.
"Ho." Ray took a deep breath, his eyes full of interest as he gazed at the mirror.
The battle was still raging, but the Gods were gradually getting overwhelmed by the sheer number of Universal beings. Yet, even while facing thousands, the Gods were not falling behind.
What was special about these Universal beings, however, was their sheer numbers. Even if they were all clones, the power they could unleash when combined was simply terrifying.
Gradually, the Gods began to suffer a crushing defeat, their bodies riddled with wounds.
Just as victory seemed closer than ever, a light flashed before them.
"I found them. It is time for the Mahyem to eliminate all these parasites who have come to my universe."
A voice resounded, traveling through every corner of the battlefield.
The river of time shattered, web-like cracks spreading across the space, and all the clones were destroyed along with it.
