Chapter 1: Chapter -1 :Why Should I, Sasuke, Defect to Konoha
Why Should I, Sasuke, Defect to Konoha and Follow the System?
At Konoha's Ninja Academy, three young students—Naruto, Sakura, and Sasuke—are introducing themselves to their team leader, Kakashi Hatake, an elite Jonin who leans casually against the railing. Kakashi begins the introductions with a vague and nonchalant introduction that leaves his new team in confused silence. Naruto, an enthusiastic blond-haired ninja with a dream to surpass the Hokage and be recognized by the entire village, follows. As he speaks, his dedication to his dream is clear, and he grips his Konoha forehead protector proudly.
Then, Sakura, the pink-haired kunoichi, shyly speaks about the people she admires, casting a sideways glance at Sasuke, the black-haired boy beside her. Her gaze is filled with admiration, which annoys Naruto, who secretly has a crush on her. Finally, Sasuke takes his turn. His tone is serious, focusing on his ambition rather than his likes or dislikes. He reveals his goal: to kill a certain man, restore honor to the Uchiha clan, and one day even become Hokage.
Naruto, shocked and hurt, confronts Sasuke. They have always been rivals, but Naruto feels deeply betrayed that Sasuke would claim the Hokage dream, which he sees as his own. In response, Sasuke challenges him, suggesting that if Naruto is afraid of competition, he should consider changing his dream. With a sharp, determined gaze, Sasuke declares he will not lower himself to anyone.
What Naruto and the others don't realize is that Sasuke is not the same person he once was. Through a twist of fate, he has traveled back in time from a world filled with pain and suffering, where he had struggled to overcome his ordinary beginnings. Now, armed with knowledge from his past life, Sasuke is ready to challenge Naruto and all others who stand in his way.
In this new life, he remembers the bitter lessons he learned. His previous existence had been one of struggle and defeat, but now he has a fresh start—a beginning full of potential, as if fate itself has given him a gift. His goal is clear: to become Hokage, not out of revenge, but because the Uchiha clan deserves recognition and honor in Konoha.
Reflecting on his past life, Sasuke considers the sacrifices his older brother, Itachi, made. Itachi had taken on immense burdens, even sacrificing the Uchiha clan, all to protect Konoha. His ultimate plan was for Sasuke to become stronger, awaken the Mangekyō Sharingan, and eventually become a legendary shinobi. In Itachi's vision, Sasuke would eventually kill him, inherit the Eternal Mangekyō Sharingan, and become a powerful figure within the village, respected and feared by many.
This time, Sasuke vows to honor Itachi's sacrifice and legacy, but he won't be manipulated as he once was. He recalls how Itachi and others saw power as the only route to peace for the Uchiha, but Sasuke now sees another way: gaining respect as Hokage. The title would finally give the Uchiha clan the honor it deserves within Konoha.
Sasuke's ultimate desire is to take control of his own destiny rather than be pulled by the strings of others, including his fallen clan and Itachi. He believes Konoha owes the Uchiha clan a Hokage, and he is determined to claim that role by his own hand. If the system refuses to recognize him, he'll simply take what's owed.
The only drawback in his plan, however, is the looming threat of being swallowed by the sacred tree and the crisis of Boruto's time. Determined to prevent that fate, Sasuke recognizes that he needs to become Hokage, not only for his clan's honor but to wield Konoha's power to change the future. At this critical moment, a voice within him—his "system"—activates. This system promises rewards and advice, warning him of potential dangers and offering him guidance on his path.
The system's guidance is clear: if he listens, he'll be rewarded. Following the system's advice may even allow him to surpass Naruto and solve the mysteries and threats that lay ahead in Boruto's future.
With this new advantage, Sasuke feels a surge of confidence. Not only does he have the chance to rewrite his own story, but he can also reshape the Uchiha legacy, turning it into one of honor and respect within Konoha. With the system's support, he feels capable of achieving this and much more.
As Sasuke's determination solidifies, he realizes that the path ahead may be difficult, but he's ready to fight for his dream. By becoming Hokage, he will ensure that the Uchiha clan is remembered not as traitors but as heroes of the Hidden Leaf Village. In this life, he is no longer content to remain in the shadows; Sasuke Uchiha is determined to rise to the top.
