I Reincarnated as the Villain in a Rom-Com but I’m Enjoying Youth with My Favorite Heroine

chapter 100

100. Ideas

After enjoying some lighthearted conversation, the topic shifted to the cultural festival.

Reo and Nishikawa began discussing today’s tasting event while poking at their bento side dishes with chopsticks.

“To sum up our class’s opinions, the majority wants to go with Ryusuke’s homemade sweets proposal. Even without the cooperation of a pastry shop, we can make such delicious sweets ourselves. It seems to have inspired everyone quite a bit.”

“Not to mention, it’s been a hot topic in other classes too. The fragrant smell of waffles has been wafting through the school since morning. Plus, I tried them myself, and I can tell you, Ryusuke’s homemade sweets were seriously delicious.”

Nishikawa said this while gazing up at the sky.

He wore a smile that seemed to linger on the aftertaste of the waffles.

It seemed that Nishikawa really liked the waffles I made, and the reactions from the rest of the class were similarly positive.

In our class group chat, the waffles received particularly high praise, and it was almost decided that the main menu for the sweets café would be waffles.

The fact that they can be easily served with just a waffle maker is also appealing. It’s something even those without experience in baking can easily try their hand at.

Depending on the toppings, there’s a lot of room for creativity, and the sweet, toasty aroma of freshly made waffles is something no one can resist.

And of course, the drink should be tapioca milk tea.

The popularity among the girls is essential, and the combination with waffles is, to put it mildly, the best.

With delicious waffles on their own, adding the chewy, bouncy texture of tapioca milk tea guarantees that the more you eat, the more addictive it becomes.

Now that everyone in the class had solidified their opinions, it seemed we could finally get serious about preparing for the cultural festival.

As I happily took a bite of my bread, Mashiromochi gently poked my shoulder with her finger.

Wondering what was up, I turned my gaze toward her, and she was looking at me with her hands clasped together, her eyes sparkling.

“It’s amazing, Ryusuke. Everyone is praising how delicious it is. At this rate, the real event is sure to be a hit!”

“If we’re talking about popularity, Mashiromochi’s maid café is bound to be a hit too. Everyone is looking forward to seeing you in your maid outfit.”

Of course, Mashiromochi’s delicate appearance, along with her friendly personality and her kindness in treating everyone equally, has captured the hearts of all the boys in the school.

Reo and Nishikawa, who have been friends for a while, also seem to have high expectations for Mashiromochi in her maid outfit.

“Mashiromochi’s popularity is the real deal. I’ve heard rumors that after summer break, a fan club for Mashiromochi was formed within the school!”

“W-What? A fan club for me!?”

Mashiromochi couldn’t hide her surprise at Reo’s words.

I couldn’t help but laugh at Masahiro’s flustered state.

Indeed, right now, Masahiro is not just the strongest beautiful girl in the academy but in the world, and countless male students have fallen for her delicate charm.

It’s no surprise that her cuteness could warrant a fan club, but Masahiro herself seems to have never imagined she was that popular, blushing deeply.

“Masahiro-san is really cute, you know. It’s only natural for people to see her as an idol.”

“Ah, um… th-th-that can’t be true…”

As Masahiro starts to fluster and stutter, Leo chuckles at her reaction.

Watching the two of them, I joined in on the conversation with everyone else.

“In any case, the maid café in Class One with Masahiro will surely be a huge success. I heard from Ryusuke that the attention to detail in the maid outfits is incredible.”

“Ah, I want to be served by Masahiro-chan in a maid outfit too. By the way, at today’s tasting event, Masahiro-chan handed out sweets to everyone, right? The guys must have been overjoyed!”

“Just like Nishikawa said, the boys’ reactions were really good. I even thought about how great it would be if Masahiro could hand out waffles in her maid outfit on the day of the cultural festival.”

When I expressed this small wish, Nishikawa and Leo crossed their arms and nodded deeply.

“Isn’t that the best idea ever!? The combination of Ryusuke’s handmade sweets and cute Masahiro-chan in a maid outfit is unbeatable!”

“Yeah, yeah, just imagining it makes me excited. If it happens, it would be something amazing.”

The two of them relaxed their cheeks as they pictured Masahiro serving freshly made delicious waffles in her maid outfit on the day of the cultural festival.

Meanwhile, Masahiro, upon hearing our words, turned bright red and looked down.

“Um… you’re praising me too much. I-I really get embarrassed…”

Masahiro, intertwining her fingers nervously while looking up at us, pleaded with her eyes.

Thinking that her reaction was adorable, I pondered over the words I had casually mentioned in the conversation with Leo and Nishikawa.

Having Masahiro serve waffles in her maid outfit on the day of the cultural festival. Isn’t that an incredibly good idea?

“Hey, Masahiro. About that idea, um, the sweets maid café, right? Don’t you think it’s a pretty good one?”

“Huh? You mean me serving Ryusuke’s waffles in a maid outfit?”

“Exactly. Our classes are next to each other, so it wouldn’t be impossible on the day of the cultural festival.”

“Ah, yeah… that’s true. Plus, both my class and Ryusuke’s class are food-related, so it wouldn’t feel out of place to serve waffles in maid outfits.”

“Not just that, I think it’s the best match possible. Considering all the things we’ve heard about the cultural festival so far.”

“I see. So my class and Ryusuke’s class actually have a really good compatibility?”

Our class, Class Two, is focusing a lot of the budget on the food we provide for our sweets café, limiting what we can spend on costumes and interior design.

On the other hand, Masahiro’s Class One is putting effort into costumes and interior design for their maid café, needing to keep the budget down for the food they serve.

In other words, if our classes, which are right next to each other, collaborate, we can cover the gaps while enhancing our strengths.

The combination of the handmade sweets I honed while working at a café in my previous life and the world’s strongest beautiful girl is sure to be a hit.

Masahiro smiled, seemingly pleased, as I spoke excitedly.

Reo listened to our conversation with keen interest, seemingly deep in thought, while Nishikawa prioritized his lunch over the cultural festival, stuffing his cheeks with fried chicken from his bento.

“Ryusuke’s idea is truly brilliant. It might even be at a level that could win the grand prize at the cultural festival.”

“Reo, is our school prohibited from collaborating with another class for the cultural festival?”

“No, that’s not the case. Our high school has a philosophy that respects autonomy. As long as both classes agree and we have permission from the student council, it’s possible.”

“Then, if we consult with everyone, we could proceed with a joint cultural festival between our class and Mashiro’s…”

“Yeah. I don’t think it would be a problem as long as we discuss it with everyone beforehand. Of course, we’ll also need to communicate with Mashiro’s class.”

As Reo answered my questions and the discussion progressed, Mashiro suddenly stood up from the bench with enthusiasm.

Her jewel-like blue eyes sparkled, and it was clear she was filled with excitement.

Then Mashiro tightly grasped my hand, beaming with a smile, and spoke.

“That’s definitely going to be fun! I’ll ask everyone in our class! I think it would be amazing to have the cultural festival together with Ryusuke’s class!”

“I share the same opinion as Mashiro. If Ryusuke’s idea of a sweets maid café can really come to fruition, it would surely be a lot of fun.”

Reo nodded in agreement with Mashiro’s enthusiasm.

This was something I had been thinking about for a while.

Even if I stood at the center of the class and pushed for a sweets café, it would be difficult to replicate the success of the cultural festival, which could be considered a great achievement in the original story.

That was a miracle only the protagonist could achieve, and even if I, the antagonist, gave it my all, I could hardly hope for the same level of success as in the original.

The cultural festival at our school, Kizakura Academy High School, is of a high standard.

The students’ passion for events is extraordinary, and every class has an array of well-crafted events, making it undoubtedly more extravagant compared to cultural festivals at other schools.

Because of this, many people from other schools come to see our cultural festival, and every year, television crews come to cover it, demonstrating just how high the level of our school’s cultural festival is.

That is the depiction of the cultural festival described in ‘Fusekoi’ that I know.

I have confidence in the sweets from the café I worked at in my previous life, but when asked if that could lead us to win the grand prize at the cultural festival, I had to shake my head.

At this rate, we couldn’t expect the same success as in the original. I even had worries about whether we would truly succeed or fail.

However, I was able to realize something through casual conversations with friends.

I had overcome the unreasonable fate of being the antagonist by supporting each other with Mashiro.

Because we joined hands to resist fate, we could create a miraculous turnaround that could be called a miracle, leading us down the path to a happy ending.

This cultural festival is the same.

Towards the ultimate happy ending, I believe that as long as I’m with Mashiro, we can move forward together, no matter how far.

That’s why the idea of a sweets maid café was truly an epiphany.

“Reo, let’s ask everyone in the class. I want to use the group chat to gather everyone’s opinions.”

“Got it. I’ll talk to everyone in our class.”

“And Mashiro, could you persuade everyone in Class 1 to cooperate with us?”

“Yeah, of course! Let’s create the most fun cultural festival together!”

Mashiro nodded with a beaming smile at my suggestion.

We will support each other and make sure to seize the best happy ending at this cultural festival.
