I Live Alone in the Inventory

chapter 36

Episode 36

“I found an S-class gate.”

“ah…”

Jung-min sat down in front of the campfire and spoke to Leah in an excited voice.

“Finally found. Now, if you destroy only that S-class gate, [Trial of the Gods] that has been so long will come to an end. You really worked hard, Leah.”

“…”

“Miss Leah?”

Leah looked at Jeongmin and said.

“Are you okay, Jeongmin? If [Trial of the Gods] ends and I make a wish to turn the world around, you may never come here again, and you may never see me again.”

“Ah… will that happen?”

“Isn’t that pretty likely? Things like the inventory or status window may disappear altogether, or memories may disappear because everything goes back to the past… Because we don’t know how gods make wishes come true.”

“Well..”

“Still, can you cheer me on destroying the S-class gate?”

In response to Leah’s question, Jung-min said firmly.

“Of course. It’s sad that we won’t see Leah again, but it’s really sad… but Leah’s teacher and colleagues. We all have to meet again, right? You have to bring this destroyed world back, right?”

Leah looked down at the campfire and said grimly.

“That’s right.. that’s what it should be..”

“…”

Jung-min stared at Leah for a while before speaking.

“What Leah is saying right now… it doesn’t match. You’re finally starting to see the goal you’ve been working hard for for 9 years. What are you hesitating about? What are you anxious about?”

Leah continued to stare at the campfire, then sighed heavily and spoke to Jung-min.

“that’s right. I kept hesitating. So even after the recent dragon appeared, I wasn’t very enthusiastic about exploring the gate. Rather, I was afraid of finding the gate.”

“Why?”

“…”

Leah fell into silence again.

Jung-min waited patiently for Leah.

After a while, Leah opened her mouth again.

“It was… anxiety. It must be the fundamental anxiety about this [trial of God].”

“Anxiety?”

“Yes, anxiety. In fact, it was when I met Jung-Min that I started to have this kind of anxiety.”

“Since you met me?”

Leah nodded and said.

“Yes, the existence of ‘Jeong-Min’ came over here by using the dimension movement forbidden by God. The fact that Jung-Min, who is only a mere human, can do things forbidden by ‘God’. Even so, it is possible to continue dimensionally moving without any restrictions. And… that I am too strong.”

“… Yes?”

Jung-min let out a dazed sound when he heard Leah’s last act.

Leah laughed lightly at Jung-min and continued talking.

“It is literally. The existence of me is… so strong. The S-class gate, the final gateway to [Trial of the Gods]. It’s never a level gate you can destroy alone. But I can. I can go and destroy it right now.”

“…”

“That was possible… because of the training method Master found. The training method that brings out the extreme power that Jung-Min is doing now. Perhaps Jung-min said before that ‘game’ is similar to ‘bug play’? What happens if you play a bug in a game that is out there, Jung-min?”

“Perhaps… they will be sanctioned somehow by the management team. Whether the account is suspended or deleted..”

“But I didn’t get any sanctions. And like this, I was able to become strong enough to destroy the S-class gate alone.”

“Ah, sometimes I admit to playing bugs. There are times when the conditions for playing the game are difficult, so when it is difficult for anyone to do it, I admit it and move on. Maybe something like that? The training we do is not something anyone can do, right? It is a difficult training method that requires certain conditions, very difficult conditions to be satisfied..”

“From a human point of view, it might be possible, but the opponent is ‘God’, right? If it’s from God’s point of view… I’m just a mere human, and it’s funny that I’m talking about God’s point of view.

“Well..”

“That is the basis of my insecurities. That the existence of God who presides over the [Trial of God] is so lax. Is the being in charge of the [Trial of the Gods] really a ‘god’.. right? Because of that anxiety, I am afraid to finish [Trial of the Gods].”

Jeongmin looked at the campfire and was lost in thought.

He wanted to say something to Leah, but nothing seemed to help Leah.

The two people sat silently watching the campfire for a long time.

It was Leah who spoke up again.

Leah sighed heavily and shook her head.

“Haa.. What’s the use of thinking about it now? The final gateway is right in front of you. I think I had a lot of thoughts when I thought [Trial of the Gods], which had been going on for so long, would come to an end. Still, telling Jung-min makes me feel a little more at ease. Thank you, Jeongmin.”

“I… I didn’t do anything.”

“no. Mr. Jung-min was a big help to me just by being there like this. It was a really desolate world with only enemies besides me. I want to say thank you for coming here again.”

“…”

Leah spoke in a deliberately cheerful tone.

“After [Trial of the Gods] is over, I won’t need all the equipment I have. My inventory may disappear, so please move all equipment and items to Jung-min’s inventory. I’ll use up all my gold and buy a bunch of potions. Make sure to move them too. Are there any skills you need? It will be difficult for a lot, but you can also buy skills.. Think about what skills you need. I’ll buy it. I’ll put them all in my inventory, so move them all.”

“The equipment is said to be a keepsake of colleagues..”

“These are colleagues we will meet again, but the word memento does not suit them. It doesn’t matter at all. Jungmin, please use it well. It will be very helpful in clearing Earth’s [Trial of the Gods].”

“Thank you, Leah..Ah, when are you planning to destroy the S-class gate?”

“It could be done tomorrow… but Jung-min will need some time to move things. I’ll make an appointment in two days.”

“okay. Then tomorrow might be the last meeting with Leah.”

“Are you sorry?”

“So many. I hope the inventory will remain after [Trial of the Gods] is over. So that I can come see Leah..”

“I wish I could be like that too.”

Jeongmin and Leah looked at each other and smiled.

“Is there anything I can do to help destroy the S-class gate?”

At Jung-min’s words, Leah looked at Jung-min and thought about something.

However, he shook his head and spoke to Jung-min again.

“I think that would be a bit difficult. With Jung-Min’s skills right now… just watching on the battlefield can be very dangerous…”

“Ah, that must be the case…it’s a pity. I want to help even a little… but at least I wanted to watch that fight.”

Leah said to Jung-min as if she had a good idea.

“How about something like this? I’ll open the inventory gate where you can see the S-class gate. You watch my final battle through that gate. Gates are held for 30 minutes. I can probably finish it well enough within that.”

“may I?”

“Of course. Please watch my final battle. Never leave your inventory. You know?”

Jung-min nodded, and Leah looked at Jung-min and said.

“like. Two days later in the morning, right after sunrise. I’m going to destroy the gate right away. Wait for the gate to open in my inventory. You know?”

“Yes, I will wait.”

Leah said to Jung-min with a satisfied smile.

“Well, then…now we can only practice twice, today and tomorrow. You can’t just skip it can you? Let’s try to raise the stats until the end. wake up.”

Jimin nodded and got up from his seat.

Taking out the handcuffs and shackles of growth from his inventory, Jeong-min, who put them on, raised his sword and looked at Leah.

“I am ready. Shall we begin?”

*******

After training, Leah and Jung-min sit face to face again at the campfire.

Thinking that there were only a few times left to do this now, Jung-min felt very regretful.

While eating snacks and drinks taken out of the inventory, Jung-min told Leah what happened today.

“..So [Daesung]’s deputy shelter leader was killed by my sword.”

“Good job. Then, what about the [Daesung] shelter now?”

“I’m thinking of putting the personnel officer in charge of the shelter. I also kissed the saved executives and the three team leaders who were on site. When the personnel officer and the combat unit members return from [Park River], we will proceed with the work after informing the fact that the deputy shelter chief assassinated the shelter chief and tried to sell the shelter. If [Daesung] and [Joogang] work together in the future, I think at least South Korea’s [Trial of the Gods] can be overcome without difficulty.”

Leah listened to Jung-min’s words and said in admiration.

“It went really well. From the beginning of [Trial of the Gods], I was worried that humans were eating away at their own strength due to territorial battles, but it really worked out. You did really well Mr. Jeongmin”

“This is all thanks to Leah.”

Jungmin smiled and smiled.

Seeing Jung-min like that, Leah laughed as well.

The two talked late into the night.

Knowing that there was not much time left to be together, the two people’s story continued until dawn, regretting the passing time.

Jung-min returned to his inventory only when morning dawned.

I didn’t sleep, but I didn’t feel tired.

Jung-min went over to Leah’s inventory and started moving things.

Numerous potions and trinkets. And various weapons and armor.

As they moved each one to their inventory, a considerable amount of time passed.

‘Phew. It’s already been so long Because there are so many things…’

Leah’s inventory is almost empty.

Jung-min looked at Leah’s empty inventory and went back to his own.

Jung-min let out a small sigh when he saw that his inventory, which he had arranged so far, was filled with various items.

‘Still, these items will be very helpful in clearing the [Trial of the Gods]. You should keep it well. It’s Leah’s last gift.’

Jeongmin thought while looking at the various items piled up in his inventory.

‘I hope the inventory will remain even after [Trial of the Gods] is over. It’s so sad that it’s the last time with Leah-san like this… it’s sad.’

Jung-min looked at the items for a while, then opened the gate to the studio in [Daesung] and moved.

Jo Won and combat unit members arrived at the [Daesung] shelter early in the morning.

Everyone was able to return to the shelter comfortably because [Park River] provided several helicopters.

The combat unit members all disbanded for Hae-woo with his family, and Jo Won remained waiting for Jeong-min.

Jo Won, who was sitting in the office of the personnel department, opened the door and greeted Jung-min as he entered.

“Are you here? I was waiting.”

“Good to see you back. How was it at [Pearl River]?”

“The meeting went smoothly. Although the representative of the guild, which had been severely damaged, protested… what should I do? The deputy shelter chief, who could be called the perpetrator, is already dead… and the opponent is [Phugang]. Well, the shelter in [Pearl River] also promised enough compensation, so somehow I was able to pass it well. Appropriately, the areas of shelters and guilds were well divided.”

“Good. [Daesung] Do you know about Shelter?”

“Yes, it was delivered to the 4th team leader. He did a lot in a short amount of time.”

Jimin nodded and said.

“I will raise a personnel officer as the new shelter head. Since we have all agreed with the executives, we will soon have a simple inauguration ceremony.”

“all right.”

Jung-min asked, watching Jo-won speak calmly.

“Hmm, aren’t you excited to be the head of this big group? The response is flat.”

“well. Even if it’s a shelter chief… I’ve been doing similar things in the meantime. Oh, there will be no more executives objecting or expressing their disapproval. That one seems to be getting better.”

“Well, anyway, please run the shelter well. High-level gates will appear soon, so please do your best to organize and train the gates around you. If there are any difficulties, please contact the [Phugang] side.”

“Looking at [Phugang]’s shelter chief, he seems like a very difficult person. How did you cook it? I think the reaction toward our [Daesung] was pretty good.”

“Bake it. It’s just that I’m in the same position as the personnel manager.”

“Ah.. is this?”

Jo Won tapped his forehead with his finger, and Jung Min nodded.

Seeing this, Joey smiled and said.

“From [Daesung] to [Joogang]… you’re amazing.”

Jimin stood up from his seat and said.

“The two biggest organizations have come under my control, so there should be no unnecessary fights between humans, at least in Korea. Just focus on destroying the gate to end the [Trial of the Gods]. I look forward to the performance of the personnel officer.. no, [Daesung]’s new shelter manager.”

“Are you leaving?”

“Yes, I think I will be a bit busy today… especially tomorrow. Good shelter maintenance, let me know if you need anything. I will go.”

Jung-min said goodbye and left the office.

After going back into his inventory and spending time roughly organizing, the time to meet Leah approached.

Jung-min went to Leah through the inventory gate and practiced and talked with Leah.

It was probably the last time for the two of them, but the two did not show it.

Dawn broke before I knew it, and Leah got up from her seat and said to Jung-min.

“It’s about time.”
