Chapter 44: Magic Crest Transfer
The morning light was dim, painting the world in a hazy red glow.
On the unfinished penultimate floor of Fuyuki City Center, Emiya Kiritsugu peered through an enhanced scope, observing the Hyatt Hotel in the distance.
Rider and his Master had entered the hotel earlier.
Based on Kurumi's account and the results of the previous Holy Grail War, there didn't seem to be any deep-seated enmity between Kayneth, the lecturer, and Waver, the young mage.
Both were from the Clock Tower, and in this situation, they would likely—no, certainly—form an alliance.
On the surface, it appeared the only battle left was between Avenger, Saber, and Lancer and Rider, but Kiritsugu knew that the most dangerous threat hadn't been eliminated yet.
Leaning wearily against the cold concrete pillar, Kiritsugu closed his eyes, resting for the battle to come later that evening.
'Your actions are completely devoid of emotion—a trait that most assassins can only master after years of training. Yet for you, it's natural.'
The words of the mentor who had guided him to become a magus killer slipped coldly into his heart.
I can't do it anymore. I can't.
Meanwhile, near the Fuyuki City Civic Center, Maiya Hisau was unloading equipment from a light truck.
As the Holy Grail War progressed, the vessel's form grew increasingly unstable. They planned to establish a base near the leyline in advance.
Kiritsugu had chosen a quaint residence—a traditional Japanese-style house that Irisviel was particularly fond of.
But the priority was to confirm the leyline's location and set up their base.
Following a precise ratio, Irisviel mixed mercury and drew a six-inch double hexagram with absolute accuracy. Quiet, pale blue magical waves spread beneath their feet, covering the entire residence.
Maiya, who watched the woman meticulously preparing the field, couldn't help but feel a sense of admiration, seeing her as pure as a saint.
Everything was progressing smoothly. Back at the Einzbern Castle, the three seal engineers were busy transferring the magic crest to Sakura.
That day, they finally understood the meaning of wealth.
Various life-extending elixirs and potions—legendary enough to drive magi mad on the black market—were being handed out by the lovely young girl in bulk.
Yes, in bulk, not by the bottle.
The engineers had come to Fuyuki City, risking life and limb, to obtain just one of these rumored potions capable of resurrecting the dead. And now, Kurumi was casually giving one to Sakura every few minutes.
Jealousy. Envy.
Being rich really did allow one to do whatever they pleased. The rumors that the Einzbern family had acquired Das Rheingold might actually be true.
The magic crest transfer was progressing perfectly, or rather, given the bombardment of these potions, it was impossible for it not to succeed.
Sakura lay naked on the bed, her body covered with dense, glowing purple markings resembling electronic chips. Her empty eyes had gained a brilliant purple hue, like the color of the bauhinia flower.
"Boss, there's something I must point out," Oriana frowned as she looked at Kurumi.
"Oh? What does the big-breasted hentai woman want to say now?" Kurumi teased.
"Big... breasted... hentai..." Oriana's heart clenched as she struggled to take a deep breath. "The customer is always right... the customer is always right..."
"It's about this little girl's magic crest transfer—it's far too early for her," Oriana continued, trying to stay calm. "Typically, a transfer like this is only performed after puberty, and even then, only in small portions."
"Although the transfer is complete now, it's left her with irreversible side effects."
"Side effects?" Kurumi raised an eyebrow, pulling out more potions. "Is it some sort of abnormal status?"
Gulp—
Oriana swallowed, marveling at how the Einzberns could be so wealthy.
"No, her growth may have stopped permanently."
"Ah?" Kurumi quietly put the potions away.
"Well, isn't that even better?"
"..."
In the large cavern beneath Ryuudou Temple.
That black entity—awoke.
To seek a perfect world, to seek a perfect life.
The weak-willed had prayed for their feeble desires, and so, that black entity was born.
The being carried the burden of all humanity's vile nature—the birth of all the world's evils.
No sin existed outside of itself. No flaw existed outside of itself.
All the hatred of the world, all the disgust was borne by one individual.
This was All the Evils of the World.
A flood of black magical energy surged and pulsed.
A vast vortex of magical power, grown colossal in the depths of darkness, listened to the voices from above.
"I will save the world, even if it means embracing all its evils..."
Yes, yes. That man was calling for it.
There was no mistake—this resolute voice was what had earned him Command Seals.
But why? Why couldn't it hear such pleas now?
That man had betrayed it.
It wept, a cry so powerful it could turn the world crimson.
But soon, it heard another voice—a voice of the same nature as its own.
It was the voice of a man who reveled in the emptiness of sin—the malicious priest.
Had he been eliminated? No... no. I will fulfill your wish.
And so, the corrupted Grail selfishly restored the Command Seals for the one who had already left the battlefield.
As purple dusk descended upon the earth, the day had quietly passed.
At the Tsukijo Airbase.
Saber and Berserker had boarded the Kawasaki T-4 trainer jet.
It was unarmed, but that was unnecessary.
The tall knight sat in the back seat.
Clang—
Clang—
Dark metal cables connected to the aircraft, and soon, the entire jet was coated in a deep abyssal black, with crimson magical energy pulsing like exposed veins.
A Knight Does Not Die with Empty Hands—the entire jet had been transformed into a Noble Phantasm.
"My king, I am ready."
"Good," Saber said. The moment she sat in the cockpit, she had mastered all the necessary skills.
Riding: A
The hangar doors opened.
Like the breath of a red dragon, the jet roared with Saber's surge of magical energy, launching into the sky at an incredible speed, climbing in an instant.
A deafening sonic boom exploded in the air.
It was like a living monster.
"Hey, hey, Kiritsugu?"
"Saber has already taken off."
"Everything is in place..."
