Chapter 26: I Just Want a Single Ending [26]
"Yes, tomorrow at ten o'clock, our representative will come by. Thank you for taking the time to speak with us."
With a polite smile, Togawa Sakiko finished her phone call and hung up.
She glanced at the clock on the attendance management screen: 4:03 p.m. With a few clicks, she logged herself out.
Gathering her belongings and slinging her bag over her shoulder, Togawa rose from her desk and left the office.
As she walked down the corridor, the door to a meeting room suddenly opened in front of her, and she instinctively took two steps back.
Then, out of the room came a high school-aged boy.
"Oh, I'm sorry! I didn't mean to startle you."
Catching her gaze, he quickly apologized, sounding sincere.
"It's fine."
She offered a soft reply before hurrying away.
[New romanceable character discovered: Togawa Sakiko]
Watching her disappear down the hallway, Kamigawa Saku narrowed his eyes.
Well, wasn't this an unexpected stroke of luck?
All he'd done was show up at a random company to sign a contract, and yet he'd managed to run into another recruitable character.
Togawa Sakiko... wasn't she CRYCHIC's keyboardist?
What was she doing here?
"Mr. Kamigawa, is everything alright?"
The voice belonged to a middle-aged man in a suit who had also stepped out of the meeting room and now looked at him with concern.
They had just finished signing a promotion contract with this surprisingly young influencer, and his company was counting on Kamigawa's efforts for their upcoming campaigns.
Kamigawa composed himself and responded calmly, "Oh, I was just struck with some new ideas for promoting. I may take a few extra videos if that's alright."
"Of course! We'll assist you in every way we can," the man replied eagerly.
"Thank you. I appreciate it."
Kamigawa maintained a polite smile as they exchanged courtesies.

9:00 PM
"Togawa Sakiko… working at that company as... customer support?"
Kamigawa Saku sifted through the information he'd gathered, a little taken aback.
In the group photo on CRYCHIC's homepage, Togawa Sakiko was wearing the Tsukimori Junior High school uniform.
And as far as he knew, that school was for the daughters of affluent families, politicians, and celebrities.
So, it was safe to assume that, back in middle school, Togawa Sakiko came from a pretty wealthy family.
"Now she's at Shuka High… wait, isn't that my school?"
Compared to the elite Moon Forest Academy, Shuka High was a far cry from prestigious.
A girl who once attended an exclusive school now enrolling in Shuka, plus her current job… It wasn't hard to piece together a likely scenario.
It seemed Togawa Sakiko's family had likely fallen on hard times.
"Could that be why she left CRYCHIC?"
Kamigawa leaned back on his sofa, unraveling the events that led to CRYCHIC's breakup.
If her family did face a downturn, everything started to make sense.
Suddenly skipping practice, refusing to give a reason for quitting, and even dismantling a band she'd built from scratch—these actions fit the circumstances of a family in crisis.
"A strong sense of pride…"
Refusing to explain her reasons hinted at her personality.
If she'd just told her bandmates about her family's situation and financial troubles, they probably would've understood.
But her silence, even if it led to misunderstandings and backlash, spoke volumes.
So, if he wanted to approach her, he'd need to show a certain level of respect.
"Too bad I couldn't get a specific class."
Kamigawa sighed, mildly frustrated.
The company she worked for had only provided surface-level information. Any deeper details were classified as private and off-limits.
"Let's see if there's anything on the internet I can find," he thought. "Even if her family's no longer well-off, they probably had some level of recognition back in the day."
With that in mind, he headed upstairs to his computer to start digging around online.

Monday morning.
What a powerful family…
Kamigawa Saku sighed inwardly as he sat in his seat, reflecting on what he'd discovered.
After spending the entire night investigating, he'd only managed to confirm that the Togawa surname held significant weight.
He didn't have enough evidence to prove that Togawa Sakiko belonged to the Togawa family.
As such, he could only approach the matter with caution.
If only I had more intel…
Thinking this, Kamigawa turned to glance at Takamatsu Tomori, who was sitting behind him.
However, he couldn't just straightforwardly ask her about Togawa Sakiko.
It would be way too suspicious.
If only someone could come to him willingly with more information about Togawa Sakiko…
For now, he planned to wander around school, looking as casual as possible, to see if he could locate Togawa Sakiko's class.

Afternoon, RING's second-floor café.
"So… what exactly are we here to discuss today? Still trying to decide on a band name?" Shiina Taki propped her chin on her hand, looking at the others with confusion. "Shouldn't we be booking practice room slots first?"
"We're here to discuss exactly that. And also to decide everyone's roles within the band," Chihaya Anon replied, glancing at her phone with a serious expression.
"What's there to decide?" Taki's gaze shifted between each of them.
"Tomori's the vocalist, you're on guitar, I'm on drums, Soyo's on bass, and Kamigawa's handling the band's management—no performing," Taki clarified.
"Correction—I'm both the guitarist and the lead vocalist," Anon added with emphasis.
"What about Tomori, then?" Taki immediately challenged.
"Maybe she could take on auxiliary percussion—like tambourines, triangles, castanets?" Anon suggested, sharing an idea she'd been mulling over.
"Mhm, I'll give it my best!" Takamatsu Tomori nodded enthusiastically.
"No way. Absolutely not!" Taki's disapproval was instant. "Tomori has to be our lead vocalist."
"Fine, fine—then we'll just have both a lead guitarist-vocalist and a main vocalist," Anon conceded, slightly lowering her initial demand.
"A double vocal lead?" Nagasaki Soyo, sitting beside them, joined the conversation with a raised eyebrow.
"Are you serious?" Taki looked more dissatisfied by the second.
"Yes, I am. I mean it," Anon insisted. "Plenty of famous bands have two lead vocalists."
"Oh yeah? Name one," Taki retorted, unconvinced.
"Anyway, let's discuss positioning on stage," Anon quickly redirected.
"Don't try to dodge this!"
"We already settled on two lead vocals, didn't we? Oh, and the guitar-vocalist should be in the center!"
"Not a chance!"
As Taki and Anon's debate continued, Soyo shifted her gaze to Kamigawa Saku, who had been silent the entire time.
"Kamigawa-kun, who do you think would suit the role of lead vocalist best for our band?"
