I Have Become A Demon God. Did You Just Ask Me To Be A Minor Villain?

Chapter 26: Queen’s Mind!

“This is a specialty of the Silver Moon Kingdom, called ice crystal coral,” said the Queen of the Crescent Moon, gesturing for a maid to present the dish to Su Mo in the palace hall. Although she desired to sit across from Su Mo, she was bound by the protocol as both a queen and a saintly goddess.

Su Mo gazed at the snow-white coral offered by the maid and recognised it as coral. Still, he also noted that it was incredibly rich in energy crystallisation, making it an exceedingly rare delicacy. In the neighbouring kingdoms, only the king was deemed worthy of tasting it, and others could not even acquire it with their money.

On the opposite side, the Queen of the Crescent Moon looked at Su Mo anxiously as he sipped the delicacy. “How is it? Does it taste good?” She inquired, resembling a child sharing her delicious food and eagerly waiting for Su Mo’s response.

Su Mo nodded and responded with a simple “Um.” Upon hearing his positive feedback, the Queen of the Crescent Moon’s face instantly lit up with a smile.

“I haven’t properly thanked you for avenging me the last time,” exclaimed the Crescent Queen enthusiastically, reflecting on the recent past. “When King Horton learned the truth, he was so furious that he almost vomited blood~”

It had only been a few months prior the Crescent Queen had just ascended to the throne. Despite the full support of the Holy See, there were still many restless factions within the kingdom, most of which were infiltrated by the Horton Kingdom. Seizing the opportunity, the Horton Kingdom sought to stir up trouble, attempting to overthrow the Crescent Queen and secretly backing their agent to take the throne.

During that crucial time, Su Mo seized the opportunity to help the Crescent Queen with various tactics, thwarting the Horton Kingdom’s numerous plots and swiftly stabilising her reign. Su Mo’s actions earned him the Crescent Queen’s admiration and respect.

However, Su Mo’s subsequent use of tricks to sow discord between the Horton Kingdom and its allies, ultimately provoking a war between several sanctuaries of the two countries, truly won over the Crescent Moon Queen’s heart.

Seizing the moment, the Crescent Moon Queen dispatched her Sanctuary to eliminate the assassins responsible for her father and brother’s deaths, finally avenging their brutal murders.

Su Mo’s extraordinary qualities had set him apart from ordinary nobles in the eyes of the Crescent Moon Queen. He possessed an alluring aura that was both captivating and mysterious. His tall and heroic figure only added to his enigmatic appeal, driving the Crescent Queen into a fatal attraction towards him.

However, despite her deep interest in Su Mo, the Crescent Queen felt he was out of reach, making her desire him even more. This unattainability only added to her fascination with Su Mo, and she was drawn closer to him.

The Queen of the Crescent Moon continued to speak at length about the intricacies of the goddess’ blessings, explaining that those who participated in the ceremony had to undergo an inspection at the Holy See to prevent spies from other kingdoms from infiltrating. However, she assured Su Mo that she had already vouched for him and he only needed to pass the final inspection.

In the world of the gods, the Holy See placed great importance on the blessing ceremony of the gods. Any infiltration by spies from other countries or followers of other gods could cause significant trouble for the Heavenly Realm. Even the slightest disturbance could not be tolerated by the Holy See.

The Queen of the Crescent Moon had done a lot for Su Mo during his time in the kingdom. Despite his unknown origins and unique circumstances, she had provided him with the support and protection he needed to thrive in a new environment.

As they talked, the Queen revealed that a new Saintess of the Holy See would soon take office. This would allow her to relinquish her status as a Saintess and focus solely on being the Queen of the Crescent Moon.

However, Su Mo’s expression remained relatively unchanged to the Queen’s disappointment. This news did not affect him as much as she had anticipated.

A king could not rule without heirs. Even though kings tend to have exceptionally long lifespans, they must have descendants to ensure the stability of their kingdom. Similarly, the Holy Daughter of God must maintain the purity of both body and mind. Marriage was out of the question. She could not even touch a member of the opposite sex or entertain such thoughts.

The roles of a saint and a king were incompatible. Thus, the Holy See was already grooming a new saint, allowing the Crescent Queen to focus solely on ruling as a king. Once she relinquished her sainthood, she would have the freedom to choose her husband.

Recently, several prominent nobles in the country had expressed interest in having someone from their family to become the husband of the Crescent Queen. These nobles hold a higher rank than Su Mo, all being dukes or higher. According to the rules, at least the queen’s husband must come from a duke’s family. However, she did not like any of these suitors. Instead, she had developed feelings for Su Mo, a humble earl.

This was the reason she had invited Su Mo to the gathering. She wanted to see his reaction to her confession, as she was unsure if he knew her feelings. The Queen was hesitant to reveal her heart, hoping Su Mo could pick up on her subtle hints. However, the dinner concluded without any further allusion to the topic.

Despite this, the Crescent Queen’s determination to choose Su Mo as her husband only grew stronger. She wished to see him recognised by the Goddess of the Crescent Moon.
