Chapter 17: Take it easy. Let’s talk heart-to-heart!
Su Mo quickly rushed towards the Abyss.
On the periphery of the Abyss, a huge magic array had been activated. Countless magic stones were thrown into the array. With enough energy invested, even a Demon God would need time to break through this array.
This delay would provide enough time for the demon gods of the demon dynasty to arrive. In the abyss, wars between demon gods were not easily initiated. This was especially true when their strength was similar, and even they weren’t certain they could defeat their opponent.
Divine power was a precious resource. It took a lot of time to condense each drop, so wasting it on trivial battles would be meaningless.
However, many demon gods thought processes could be rather peculiar, and some had a natural inclination towards war. As Su Mo approached, his powerful aura caused the demons in the Demon dynasty to react with fear and surprise.
Even a demon-level entity couldn’t withstand the breath of a god. Despite this, Su Mo refrained from rushing into the Abyss. Instead, he positioned itself on the outskirts, continuously releasing its formidable aura, causing the demons to feel uneasy and apprehensive that he might attack them.
If their god arrived even a little late, this demon dynasty would suffer a significant loss.
At that moment, a passage opened up in the sky. Soon after, an incredibly evil aura filled the air, apparent even to humans. A massive black shadow emerged from the opening.
An ordinary person would be frightened by looking at this shadow. A God, especially one who had fully unleashed his aura, couldn’t be directly seen by ordinary people.
This was not just a matter of politeness and respect. It was a matter of survival. If an individual strength is insufficient, looking directly at the god… could be an act of death at level 100!
“Our God has descended!”
In the Demon dynasty, all the demons felt relieved and prostrated themselves on the ground, one after another.
“Phantom Demon God, it’s you!”
Upon arrival, the enormous black shadow recognised Su Mo immediately and emitted a thunderous roar. This sound did not travel through the air, as the distance was too great. If transmitted through the air, the sound would have to travel for dozens of minutes before it could reach its destination.
As a demon god, this huge black shadow used its power to vibrate the space, allowing the sound to be transmitted instantaneously.
Su Mo’s physical stature appeared small in comparison to the enormous black shadow. Nevertheless, both Su Mo and the black shadow, as well as the spectators, could sense that Su Mo’s aura was no less potent than that of the massive shadow.
As the black shadow spoke, Su Mo had already suppressed his succubus blood. It wasn’t necessary to eliminate it entirely. All that was required was a slight display of his human side, allowing the villain panel to become visible.
Once the villain panel came out, Su Mo directly loaded the attribute-picking system.
“Sure enough, there are bubbles.”
After loading the attribute-picking system, Su Mo successfully saw a transparent bubble floating beside the enormous black shadow.
The bubble was too big and could easily hold a few individuals. Furthermore, Its colour was different from the colour of the bubble around Nancy.
The attribute-picking system described the size of the bubble as representing the amount that could be harvested. Additionally, there were some colour differences between bubbles.
Su Mo surmised If he punctured this bubble. He could get a significant harvest.
“Phantom Demon God, do you still want to fight?” The demon inquired.
Su Mo had previously encountered this demon when he first became a demon god and engaged in a battle to test his strength.
The demon thought that Su Mo had come to fight with him again.
However, Su Mo calmly reassured him, “Don’t be nervous, Spike Demon God. I just came here to talk to you.”
“Talk?” The Spike Demon God was taken aback by Su Mo’s unexpected words. Despite his demonic nature, he was not foolish. Su Mo’s words had caught him off guard, but it was Su Mo’s intense gaze that truly held his attention.
“Well, it’s just a heart-to-heart talk. Don’t you want to deal with that banshee? Maybe we can work together,” Su Mo said in a flat tone.
“Join forces? Is that right?”
Su Mo’s words obviously made the Spike Demon God interested.
“It’s true… That banshee bullied me too badly, and she robbed many of my sites. But no Demon God was willing to help me,” he continued.
Upon hearing Su Mo’s words, it was no surprise that the Spike Demon God wasn’t initially interested. However, with a flick of Su Mo’s wings, he flew over to the Spike Demon God.
Although the Spike Demon God remained vigilant, he didn’t make any hostile moves since he sensed that Su Mo’s aura was decreasing. In the eyes of the Spike Demon God, lowering one’s aura was a sign of sincerity, indicating that he had no intention of attacking him.
“Of course, the banshee’s strength is increasing, and after bullying you, she may come after me next. I can help you scout her out first, and then we can discuss the details when I come back to you. What do you say?” Su Mo proposed.
After Su Mo finished speaking, he stretched out his hand and patted the shoulder of the Spike Demon God. He took advantage of the situation and burst the air bubble around the Spike Demon God.
“You have gained 2 points of divine power, 135 points of strength, 68 points of agility, and one skill fragment,” the attribute-picking system reminder appeared on the villain’s panel.
Su Mo was pleased with the results. The things he gained from the Demon God were exceptional. Two points of divine power, over a hundred points of strength, and dozens of points of agility were all excellent attributes to pick up.
According to the attribute-picking system’s standard value, an ordinary person’s average attribute value was only 10 points. The attributes dropped by a Demon God were equivalent to more than a dozen ordinary people.
The divine power was also beneficial, as it was durable and could last a long time with only two points. Another significant gain was the skill fragment. Su Mo noticed that the skill fragment was the housekeeping stunt of the Spike Demon God, the God Destroyer. Although the fragment was only 1%, Su Mo could use it to glimpse part of the mysteries of the skill. If he could find the Spike Demon God a few more times, he might be able to obtain more skill fragments.
Su Mo was satisfied with his golden finger, even though it was only a bronze level and had many restrictions. However, the limit was only the number of times he could use it, not the harvest. The size of the harvest depended entirely on the level of people he could get in touch with.
If it were another person, there would be no chance of getting in touch with the Spike Demon God. Only those who had passed the level of the Demon dynasty were qualified to contact the Demon God. With Su Mo’s help, even a powerful demon couldn’t defeat him, and they wouldn’t have a chance to go to the Demon God to burst the bubble.
Therefore, Su Mo made good use of his golden finger’s potential. If the protagonist who owned this system knew how much Su Mo could gain from it, he would surely envy him.
The Spike Demon God didn’t feel the power in Su Mo’s hands, and with Su Mo’s assurance, he didn’t obstruct Su Mo from patting him.
“Alright, I’ll go and visit her. I’ll come back to you later,” Su Mo said, taking advantage of the situation before spreading his wings and departing for another Abyss.
He was headed towards the location of the demon-level Abyss banshee, which was precisely where Su Mo had mentioned earlier.
